I found this after just reading The Kingdoms (which hadn't come out at the time of this) and I can't agree more with your review of her wonderful writing, world building, perfect amount of magical realism, and well written characters. She's absolutely my new fave author!!

I fully agree with you regarding Natasha Pulley! Another thing with her books are that they benefit from rereading. You notice small details that you missed the first time around and you can connect the story in a whole new way. I’ve just finished the Kingdoms and I’m excited for the time when I’ll be rereading it 😁

Fantastic video! Pulley is amazing, maybe my favorite new author of the last two years, and I heard about her on this channel. She combines the world building skill of a great historical novelist (or a sci-fi/fantasy author) with a mastery of prose and character.

I love your passion for books, I feel the same way. I love historical fiction as well. I know I must read Natasha Pulley's books , for I am sure to thoroughly enjoy each one. Watching your videos and passion for books reminded me of what I once read by a theologian; he wrote that he would give his pinky finger to have NEVER read C.S. Lewis's Narnia books , so he can now have the joy of reading it for the first time.🙌🤗🥰

I'm really excited that the sequel to The Watchmaker is out! I enjoyed the first book so so much, it is one of my favourite books ever and I'm intrigued to see what happens to the characters next and how the themes in the first book are continued. Given how incredible The Watchmaker was, I was worried that a sequel simply couldn't meet expectations, but it is wonderful to see that someone who loved the first book so much wasn't at all disappointed by this new book.

When I saw you had posted this, the library had just handed me their brand new copy of The Lost Future of Pepperharrow and I knew I had to wait until I finished reading it to watch. I discovered The Watchmaker of Filigree Street about a year ago and adored it, as well as The Bedlam Stacks. I spent an inordinate amount of time while reading The Bedlam Stacks stopping and looking up the history and locations online and then going back to the story. I recommended both books to others at every opportunity. I found out a third book was coming out from one of your previous videos and immediately requested our library purchase it, hence why I was the first person to get to read it. I too adored being back with these characters, as well as the new characters, and I didn't even get through the book before I started telling everyone about it. I agree with everything you said about Pulley as an author, she's one of my favorite new discoveries. I was particularly struck by how unique her stories were, not just the same ol' same ol'. I really struggled with this latest book, not wanting to put the book down, but also not wanting to finish it and have it be over. I can hardly wait to read whatever she writes next!

Preordered The Lost Future months before it came out, and devoured it the moment I finally got my hands on it. Historical fiction isn't usually my preferred genera, but Pulley manages to walk that fine line of allowing me to feel the authenticity of the time period without needing to know a lot about that time period.

Oh, what a magnificent video Katie. So many detail teasers clearly explained with that trademark Lumsden enthusiasm. I consider myself hugely fortunate not to have read ANY Natasha Pulley ... yet. I'm putting aside a chunk of this summer to binge these books, huzzah! 🥳 Thanks in advance for introducing me to what I know will be Fabulous New Worlds 🤓
