Let's talk about Poison in EDH 

I mean as someone who really likes aggressive attacking decks I don't really have a problem with poison decks, it just helps put a target on someone else that might make it easier for me to win lol

currently building my first commander deck to play with some friends, and one of them has a poison deck. Even from the outside, I can see the frustration building as every other player is put on a clock, all at once. The fact that proliferating toxic counters can target ALL opponents is a problem in my eyes. Every proliferate is the equivalent to 12 damage per trigger (4 per player, 10% of starting life) that cannot be mitigated or undone in any way, can activate in very inexpensive ways (2 mana spells, landfall, etb triggers, end step triggers) really shifts the speed at which anyone has a chance to survive long enough to even play their commander. I'm having to rethink my entire deck strategy from scratch, just to be able to go fast enough to kill off the poison player. I don't want to spend 100's of dollars on my budget deck just to stay alive past turn 5.
