So glad to watch this video as a girl who grew up in a Muslim purity culture myself. It indeed took me a lot of time to embrace my sexuality and femininity after being shamed my whole life. Thank you for talking about this. It's very important topic but I don't see many people addressing it.

02:09 I was also brought up going to church with my mum's family, but my dad's family were not religious so I had the mesh of both faith and liberal freedoms, but I just want to point out something I never understood, as to why it should be women who are forced to cover up, instead of men learning self-discipline and learning to control their urges and gaze. Why is it that men are never at fault, and it's always the women who are made to be subservient in order to cover up men's misdemeanours?
