You need a small greenhouse to start your seeds. I started with a 8x10 now its 20 x50 always in the greenhouse. I start my seed about 6 weeks before last frost date. Love your raised beds.I also plant zinnia and sunflowers that I save seed from year after year, love getting my hands dirty and watching it grow but eating fresh food can't be beat.

The only person I know who can do seedy tastefully! Ha! You have a rather eclectic variety of plants you grow and your gardening structures (beds and trellises) are interesting and fun. And you do so well harvesting and preserving the harvest also! Serendipity is one of my favorite sweet corn varieties too. I enjoy growing it all but my wife doesn't share my passion for putting it up. Nice job sharing your plans!

@@Adam_Poirier Yes, I have seen many. Full of things like harvesters, combines, tractor attachments like hoppers for fertilizer spreading and sprayers for pesticides and herbicides, and dump trucks and all sorts of giant bins of seed corn and the like. Just the set of equipment needed for a single family industrial chemical commercially-oriented mass production farm, wouldn't you say?
@archenema6792
@archenema6792 2 года назад
@@acresofclayhomestead Trouble with subject-verb agreement and ending sentences with prepositions? My judgements are valid, and do no harm to me, only to your false pride and vanity. Homesteading refers to subsistence farming in a natural way that enhances Nature rather than exploiting it. Machine plowing vast fields to produce tons and tons of cash crops, and pounding it into productivity with chemical fertilizers and pesticides destroys the natural fertility of the soil, creating a cycle of ever-greater dependency on these chemicals to maintain that fertility, until the living biome of the soil is utterly sterilized and future fertility can ONLY come from chemicals. This sort of commercial brutality towards Nature is what true homesteading seeks to avoid with all of its might. Your soil likely retains some latent natural fertility, so it isn't too late to change the self-destructive path you are on. But you must first open your eyes to the harm you cause, and WANT to do better in the future. Good luck. You'll need it. It's not looking good for Mom and Pop farms with the skyrocketing prices of the artificial enhancements upon which you are so dependent.
