Storm just created a worm hole powerful enough to swallow a Solar System and spit it out at the edge of the universe. Khoras fire was used as an ingredient in Storm's incantation, another ingredient being her own life.
Same she went out on her own terms and even then she may come back as the next issue set in year 1000 talks about bringing back a legend back to life for one last stand. They’re finally showing her mystical godhood self and I’m here for it
Khora did not boost Storm. She was used as an ingredient as well as another things to complete her spell. Storm opened this Wormhole through her own power.
Storm just moved a Solar System Sized World Farm to the Edge of the Universe, protecting it for a thousand years as a Safe Haven for mutants and Sinister Resistance. Incredible feat and shows her true potential if she wanted to dive deep into her powers.
Absolutely right about storm not needing that boost, in her rage she can tear earth apart with her regular powers m, that magic knowledge should put her well above any feats Dr Strange has achieved using her omega level capabilities to enhance her magic capabilities she should be a reality warping psychic aswell, hate to just sound like a power lover but that set of powers storm is capable of makes her one hell of a fascinating character, we also have to remember that her connection with eternity is also quite an event also, I find everything about her far more fascinating then Phoenix force tbh ❤
@@Taylorlove17 yeah I’m ready for her and everyone else to tell him off I feel like the fall of x really means the mutants will push Xavier out when it becomes clear alot of events and issues have had to do with the council and his awful choices for krakoa
Of course, it's also possible that Ororo didn't actually DIE. With Khora boosting both her power and her magical ability, she conceivable might have just burned out her physical body... basically "ascended". Other magic users in past stories have done something similar. So, she may still be around at the 1,000 year mark... just in a different way.
ororo ascending to god hood might also be the only way to beat mother righteous, since I have a feeling every sinister will be killed/defeated at least before we loop back.
That's a beautiful theory. Storm dying and ascending receiving her Goddess form immortal and undefeatable. I was thinking about a theory where Storm is an African Goddess that has lived many past lives witch, mutant, alien etc and chose to reincarnate and live the life of a mutant and it's revealed that she always desired to be of physical service to all life forms and not merely just worshipped or feared . Plot twist !
I think that’s possible to cause she has already achieved a form of godhood when wakanda prayed to her. A physical death might lead to her becoming one with the universe as destiny’s visions do speak of something called the storm system. Not to mention the next issue talks about bringing back a legend for one last rebellion
Blerd, as soon as I read this issue, I already knew you were going to love it. If they ever make a Storm solo movie, I really hope that Al Ewing is either at the helm or at the table.
When I saw those mystique clones in Immoral X-Men #2, I knew mystique was dead. And then they confirmed it in immoral 2. But even before all of that, seeing a preview image of old destiny shedding a tear told me that mystique died and her plan was for nothing. Seeing Storm pull this off was glorious and nearly tear jerking. Ororo will ALWAYS be THAT GIRL. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE MOTHER Also, seeing Storm choose not to destroy the Moira clones and reset the timeline was an interesting move that I didn’t consider. I thought the plan was going to fail but instead, she succeeded and died on her own terms. So maybe this will partially be why it takes sinister and Rasputin IV 1000 years to even find them.
Shoutout to Ewing💯.. In a old storm vid I did on here (shameless plug check it out 😂) I mentioned this before her magic is a good untapped power as well as other things. Now if they really wanna amp up storm they could dive more into her x-gene.. What me and others have theorized is that storms actual ability is elemental manipulation and it subconsciously comes out as weather due to her bloodline. Imagine if a writer wanted to rework her and make her more broken. I know it won't happen but a guy can hope 😂 Nice review as always👍🏿
This single makes me wish that Ewing would more or less be put in charge of plotting the X-Men line going forward. It's likely the single best issue of X-Men comics since Grant Morrison's run. It made me completely rethink Destiny and Mystique's relationship. I had always thought Mystique was the "bad one" in the relationship. That if Destiny got away from her, she could be a better person. But now it has me wonder if I got it all wrong... That deep down, Mystique has some good in her and it's really her love for Destiny which turned her into such a cold, selfish person. I also love how Ewing remembered Storm is... Well, a good person. In the Krakoa era in general, I feel that the whole mutant ethno-state thing has lead to a lot of characters forgetting their morality. But Storm effectively ganking Destiny because she didn't want to stuff out all the lives by collapsing the timeline, just so they could bring back their dead? That's so... Storm. She eventually learned that to save lives, she sometimes had to take them, but she always had real value for life. And it was nice to seem her recognize that a crapsack world still have people who want to live in it. That life still has meaning.
Khora didn't boost Storm's power also. Her flame was clearly stated as an offering, as well as her own life, needed to make the spell work. Both of these were ingredients. Note Storm wasn't encased in Khoras flame like destiny was either which is another indicator her Storm's powers were not boosted.
A really interesting thing for me in this issue is the view on the Moira reset, until this point we had only seen it throug Sinister's lenses, so it just felt like a reset button, but Storm's point of view really makes sense, in resetting the timeline it would basically be killing everyone on the universe not letting even their memories alive, so her chosing not to reset made a lot of sense, especially coming from Storm.
My thing is as powerful as Ororo is why do they always have to introduce other people or factors to make it look like she needs help. She's an Omega level mutant able to manipulate a plethora of energies, she's a Divine being plus has immense magical potential and a will strong enough to make a perfect host for a portion of Eternity's consciousness. She should be able to do most if not everything alone. Hell in the comics of yesteryears she was pulling off feats that were borderline impossible that didn't even so much as tire her. I need her truly unleashed so her haters can eat her dust and I can finally rest easy.
right i wish Khora did NOTHING and that all of that was Storms power. Now people are gonna talk and say “oh that’s still not storm’s power she was amped blah blah blah” IDC STORM WAS NOT AMPED AND THAT WAS ALL HER POWER!
First off bro where did you get the Daredevil skully ? That is dope man . Yeah the blood line connection of Storm and the former Sorcerer Supreme. Love your work bro
This sins of sinister event is really cool and I like the respect on Storm but it just sucks knowing in the back of my mind all this is going to be hand waved/moira'd away
You KNOW I enjoyed this issue! I couldn't wait to see your video on it. It's been really great to finally see them acknowledging Ayesha!!! It's official
I am not a comic book reader, so I don't know anything that going on in the comics. Although, I been interested in knowing more about black superheroes ever since Black Panther was released. Your coverage of Storm has been awesome and eye-opening to how magnificent she is and could be.
I love seeing the respect given back to Storm. Al Ewing has been writing the best version of Storm since Claremont’s original run. Red is the best x-book out. I think she’s still alive just as a higher form.. like she IS the Storm system.
If we go by the summary of Storm and the brotherhood of mutants #3 ,her followers will find a way to bring her back for one final battle . But it's comics ,you never know . Also she managed to trick and outsmart Destiny with her vision of the future and killing her without realizing what's actually going to happen .
I feel like ironfire will being her back using her godhood. She already achieved godhood when wakanda prayed to her but ironfire might use that and some mutant stuff to return her for one final battle against the council
@@ampocalypsew3883 I’m kinda more interested in whatever new relationship she’s teased to start (I’m hoping with Jon). Sad as it is marvel seems to just like using storm and t challa for cool meet ups or dramatic shut downs and they basically put the nail in the coffin to their relationship and the current black panther run. I’m hoping someone writes a story good enough to get them together or on better terms (hickmans pregnancy sorry sounded awesome) but until then I’m ready for whatever new journey both of them have
@@justindixon1586 I think it is with Jon if so that would be cool, I just hope it isn't with Ironfire or anyone else that would lead to be problematic cause she tends to be that way. And yeah I wish the whole JH story with her being pregnant would've stick, but I guess Marvel didn't want that cause....idk they might still have issues with blk couple or heroes being happy or growing older?
@@ampocalypsew3883 maybe I guess they just thought the idea of making her an actual mother to breaking to her appeal in some ways people are weird about that spider woman and Jessica have both had children and moved forward with their lives and it feels like every other hero isn’t allowed to move forward with their lives and actually start a regular family (still waiting on Jean and Scott to enjoy actually birthing and raising a kid up) or just do normal things like change jobs or get new bearings cause everything has to have a status quo and even if it changes they like to cop out and turn things back to how it is (the reason Spider-Man’s whole mephisto deal is). But it seems like there making attempts to actually move the ball forward on their lives like letting Pete and Felicia legitimately try out so I’m hoping someday we get a good progress of heroes living how they want without stupid out of center drama or unneeded stress plots that could be easily fixed
Bro, storms, origin and heritage goes way further back then a shaky storm is a direct descendent of ashtur and if you’re not familiar who ashtur is she is the sister of Gaia Gaia is mother earth and also depending on which Thors origin stories you are using she is Thors mother that means that storm is in the same family as thor is. Now that’s just talking about the weather portion of her powers. Now when you get it to her being a more powerful sorceress, then not only Doctor Strange and brother voodoo she is on the same level as scarlet witch because she don’t have to use the powers of other powerful beings the way that Doctor Strange has to because we all know that Doctor Strange really don’t have any power at all he rely on all these different trinkets and spells and power that he borrows from powerful beings like ashtur ragador agomoto, and the one he uses more than anything is cyttarak. Because of her heritage of being a direct descendent of ashtur ashtur is agaMoto‘s mother, and she is one of the three beings that created Vashanti which was ashtur her son agaMoto and I forgot the other guys name i always forget his name. I can look it up, but I don’t feel like it. Lol, but I’m sure you know you are very knowledgeable when it comes to comics. yes aShakey is in the family tree and also Ayesha are you sure is the sorceress that broke away from Black Panthers heritage in Africa they were all together, but she broke away from Black Panthers, heritage and create her own Village I should say in Africa storm is actually a queen, but she don’t use her queen hood and I’m not talking about being a queen of a portion of Africa. She’s a queen of her own country, so there is a lot about storm that marvel comics put in her origin, but no one that writes. Her comics has ventured into just like Thor.
I am going to be pissed if after this event they don't hone in and expand on Her Magical powers it's literally too cool and op for this level of potential to get dropped. Oh and the kind of Mutant Circuits she'd be able to form using magic with Characters like Scarlet Witch and Magik
I think we will see it again. Ewing stated in an interview that we would see magic both "soon (which I think was this issue), and again later, which will probably be needed in the Genesis War.
The persistent pattern at Marvel Comics is that black superheroes are a one off. Unlike the white superheroes, Storm has never led a strong family unit or had a long term committed relationship. And the same is true for almost all other black heroes. Hell, they will make Sabertooth and Wolverine grandfathers before they give Storm a Husband and a son in the 616 universe.
Ta-Nehisi Coates did it first (and he made her a goddess in the main timekine of 616) but Al Ewing deserves credit for this issue. it was beautifully done.
Claremont had already established her being a goddess. I’d say Coates gave her goddess title a name (godhead) but storm fan already knew she’s a goddess and has been worshipped and gained power from that worship since when she lived in Kenya. It’s a big reason why Shadow King came after her as a child before her mutation manifested.
@@okayysophia Claremont never defined her as a true goddess though. in fact that was the entire point of giant size when Xavier convinced her to join the xmen.... he told her she wasn't a real goddess but a mutant
Here's something I predicted might happen n the next issue, Storm will come back but not as her flesh and body but as a true goddess. Possible a spirit. Also I love thatStorm got her revenge on both Mystic and Destiny, tho I wonder did Destiny saw her death coming or not?
THANK GOD! Or should I say goddess lol, tho now all marvel needs to do is keep storm at this lvl of power, also I hope if storm did have children they came from T'Challa.
The fact that Al Ewing continues to use characters to "help" storm diminishes her feats. Storm doesn't need help to manipulate space weather or magic, but Ewing writes her again to need help. Strange how he loves tapping into other character's godhead through worship, but Storm, even though Coates wrote it in canon, can't be empowered through it. She needs a power booster or help to show her power. It seems storm may be becoming a figure of hope for the universe. Ironfire was Mother Righteous' target for a reason and I think it's his belief... Now, I give Ewing hell for his butt plug way of depicting storm, but I have reason to believe that he will be paying her godhead off at the end of this. The solicit for Storm and the brotherhood #3 shows storm as a figure loved and respected by countless. Maybe when she's revived, he plans on incorporating all of these aspects of her power. Oh, cable seems to be fused with the history mutant, not the technorganic virus anymore.
Where's Black Panther and how is it that his mystic abilities aren't focused on in any fashion? Seeing how the relationship between Storm and T'Challa is always sabotaged, she could have helped him in his understanding of the mystic arts.
This was a Magnificent issue, but if ORORO truly embraced her sorcery side I believe she went to Astral from and would meet up with professor X and Doctor's strange and VOODOO.,no way Destiney could see that. I'm hoping we see ORORO'S Daughter and her Son from the Avengers next team. (TWO parallel siblings working together, fascinating).
@@armisteadgwathney7335 okay got it I just couldn't remember what timeline major ex come from so thank you for reminding me but I do hope it be the Sun from The Avengers with Black Panther in her cuz I remember the sun on the cartoon so that would be nice
But I thought it was him I remember a long time ago I had an annual X-Men book was storm and black panther and it was still married and he had a daughter and a son with her and also the sister was still doing black panther sharing by know the sun was thinking about doing but he wasn't sure and I keep in mind this a long time ago so I can't remember what year was said and it's in my collection so I have to look that up
Just a minor correction though - Ayesha of Balobedu is not the second Sorcerer Supreme after Agamotto. That honor goes to Saraswati of Akah-Maat. Ayesha was the FIRST HUMAN BORN to ever earn the title of Sorcerer Supreme.
Storm was written as an extremely cunning, smart character here, I appreciated it wasn't just that she was powerful, she game of thones'd Destiny so hard
Damn right girl gets her paralyzed and she waits 90 years planning a comeback and not only claps you but ensures her goal with her final breath like a G
Wow this was great Storm really do has a lot of potential now dormant magic inherited From her mom good story I wonder when time reset will anybody remember this future storyline My money is cable when time will be reset by Moria I think cable will stay the same way Due to him bonding with the xile, that carry history I say that because history with cable will stay with him and him alone So cable will be over 1000yrs old when time reset he won t change in age everybody else Will???????
I know you said they put respect on her name, but in all honesty, there’s always a case where we have to see Storm need back up, and a power boost, or someone to take over her powers for her. It’s like she’s the omega level mutant that Has to keep having backup. When will we get to see her merge with the elements or dig deep in her self, or become rogue storm or black vortex storm. I feel like if we see other people doing it we should be able to see storm do it without help.
Several other Mutants have been brought back. With some clever writings I could see Storm brought back. One sinarial could have Storm buried and in the ground she draws on Earth's energy and bursts out of the coffin younger and stronger. The question is how long should be buried, I don't know. This is just one way out of many that Storm can be brought back. I remember when they had us thinking Jean was killed and cleverly brought her back. #IJS
