i think that SM should stop focussing on money as much and focus on their artists more. both Jonghyun and Sulli have left us and it still feels like all they are after is money. people will eventually stop supporting them if they don't make an effort to take care of their idols.

Army’s have been complaining about bundling for a long time, way before idea of SuperM was even mentioned. All the billboard’s response article did was admit that SM/Capitol knew how to game the system, as billboard allow these types of “marketing strategies” they are hardly going to criticise there use as it would call into question the validity of the Billboard’s charts system. Bundling is just the western equivalent of Sajaegi and in the past certain SM fandoms have always been the loudest at accusing other companies of it, which now makes them look like hypocrites.

They debuted at number 1 I’m so happy for them but tho I feel like there is a lot of success they didn’t even get to go to billboard hot 100. Makes no sense to me since summer walker who got number 2 while SuperM got number 1 she had 7 new entries on billboard hot 100. I wish SuperM the best but I’m not gonna lie I was pressed ofc they are talented but that Summer Walker album was fire. When I said it doesn’t make sense to me what I mean is that summer walker had her songs charting billboard 100 while even though SuperM was number 1 on albums the actual title track wasn’t on the billboard 100. What I’m saying is they have a good strategy they have good talent but even tho their debut was a success it was not as a success as I think SM was hoping for.

To those that are saying that SuperM isn’t organic, that it’s fabricated, ALL Kpop groups are put together by their companies: ALL OF THEM. But there are a few things about these artists that everyone should know. EXO ran to the the main stage and cried together with the members when SHINee won their Artist of the Year Daesang. Kai and Taemin hugged and cried together that day: they trained together since they were kids, and have been best friends to this day, in spite of their busy schedules. Mark, Taeyong and Ten are together since their SM Rookies days, and debuted together as NCT U, and have looked up to Kai, Taemin and Baekhyun, their admired seniors. Lucas and Ten have spent a lot of fun times with Mark and NCT Dream: Lucas covered for Mark when the latter wasn’t able to attend the SM Town concert in Dubai due to NCT 127’s promotions, and Ten was in charge of the group since they were all minors and Taeyong wasn’t able to attend either for the same reason as Mark. These artist aren’t strangers, and have shared some history as SM artists: they are family. They were trained by the same people. The younger ones trained using their seniors’ music, and the older groups have invited the younger ones to share the stage with them for award shows and tv shows wins. And finally, Kai and Taemin posted the very same pic in both their IG accounts to celebrate that, after being there for each other through the best and the worst times, they can finally share the stage as members of the same group. I wish SuperM all the best in this interesting and challenging project.

I love that SuperM is a thing. I was never into all of the groups devotedly but this group makes me want to be invested in all of the groups in which each member comes from. I don't like SM at all but I won't hate on a group just because of their entertainment label. Edit: Also as an ARMY, I am deeply disappointed in the fandom for saying such ridiculous things.

Thanks for this video. I got attacked so badly for liking this group and also not being upset about them getting #1. I think all this anger is ridiculous. I didn't ask for SuperM but I appreciate it. This is the first time I been able to buy albums so cheaply . Get Ten's autograph and just get to finally after years of waiting seeing Kai and Taemin together for a project. Honestly if you dont like GO LISTEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. THERE ARE LIKE AN INSANE AMOUNT OF OTHER BOY GROUPS OUT THERE. Like it makes no sense to me why anyone would focus all their energy on a group they don't like.

You know what the problem is? SM still brands them as idols, as products. they did All the bundles and pathetic promotions (they were almost begging people to buy and stream I felt sad tbh) because SM is so desperate to remain relevant and win money. They only care about superficial fame and it shows, people notice. I hate to compare but BTS have branded themselves as artists. They don’t say _look at my looks, look at my dances and bright colors_ Their approach is more like _"hey listen to my music, we are spreading this message. Too black and boring, I also didn’t like the coloring on some parts of the jopping video. Buut that's just my taste.

i think superm is great idea but i just wish their songs weren’t just 90% english. it’s like i’m just listening to western pop. the reason why me and many other kpop fans love kpop is because it is foreign and unique, unlike we have ever seen before. when groups just start for the american market, it doesn’t really feel the same. but i wish nothing but the best for superm and the members.

In my opinion SM is coming to the forefront in a smart move with multi level strategies showcasing SM’s top artists while shining a light on the best of KPop. Superm’s artists are undeniably talented; each in their own right. Awesome in performance. Not even paying attention but I seen army on Twitter talk about buying huge lots of bts albums to make sure bts wins. In truth fans don’t benefit from the sales just the artists so why waste your time fighting about someone else success.

Still confused as to why Johnny, an actual American and one of the most loved members of NCT, was not in SuperM. Johnny's not even my bias but it's kinda obvious. Also why have Lucas in the group if you're not gonna give him lines. "But he's a dancer" then give him centre choreography. "But he's a visual" then give him screentime. I hate seeing him being put to the back.

I have nothing against SuperM, I think it's great that they're so successful. I'm a bit iffy on the reason for their formation and the fact that SM chose literally the most overworked idols in their respective groups to do so too, especially since they literally have an entire basement full of eager, talented trainees ready to debut. I do hope they succeed even further though, they deserve it!

The cheating part has little to do with their 60+ bundles. The CHEATING part is when SM facilitated overseas orders for their albums. SM took overseas orders, ordered it from US sellers, had it delivered to SM warehouse in the US, and then SM shipped it overseas. They did not release the album simultaneously anywhere (except Japan), not even in Korea where most fans are, because they wanted the overseas fans to order it from the US though online means. Billboard is for US consumption ONLY and its very unfair for others billboard artists that week.

I'm a loyal supporter of one group ever since I got into kpop (5hinee until the end) so when SuperM was announced I actually felt uneasy since I've only just supported Shinee and all it's members but now I have to support SuperM as well because of Taemin. It was like "How can I love this group if I only know one member" -- tbh I am still glad that Taemin was a part of this since he won't be much as lonely anymore -- as time went on, I actually have grown to like Baekhyun, Kai, Mark, Taeyong, Ten and Lucas and I ended up actually supporting another group! This made me grow an interest in EXO, NCT and WayV as well as other groups in SM like Super Junior. I might as well become an sm stan now

as a fan/stan of both BTS, EXO, NCT, and SHINEE, i honestly think the fanwars between ARMYS and SUPER M fans are ridiculous, be proud that kpop is being reached all over the world. kpop isn’t just BTS or just any group, and America is able to see a new group of it that it somewhat interesting and cool. BTS doesn’t always need to be #1 in order to be legendary and incredible artists and I think sometimes in kpop this whole WE MUST BE #1 OR ELSE WE’RE THE WORST mindset is absolutely terrible. It just creates petty drama and its dumb. I am an army. I love BTS like no other. For First the time ever, I am actually excited about what Super M has to offer. They are extremely talented & handsome 😍 I honestly hope that they do well. Ok even though I don't stan any of the groups you're into, I usually like watching your content because I like your insight on things and usually you seem to have the facts straight. But there were so many things you either got wrong or didn't take into account that I couldn't just ignore it: 1. ARMYs have been calling out artists for bundling LONG before SuperM did it. I started seeing it on my tl when the Jonas Brothers did their bundles (we literally nicknamed them the Bundle Bros), and I've seen it every time since. 2. While we had already been calling out bundling for a while, a lot of people found it absolutely insane how much SM was pushing it. The 60+ versions was the part that really got to people, like that's pushing it way too far. 3. Another thing that looked super suspicious was the fact that the day before the Hit's Daily Double and Billboard posted their charts, Rolling Stone posted theirs. It said that Summer Walker was #1 with 110K sales. The reason why this was suspicious is because HDD pulls their data from the same place that Rolling Stone does, so SuperM would've had to pull more than 110K out of their ass. We now know that she debuted with 150K sales at #2, which makes that look even more suspicious. So from an outside perspective, it looked like SM and Capitol were doing mediaplay. 4. Idk who's feeding you lies but neither Ikran nor Ellie ever hated on SuperM. They are both ARMYs, but all they've ever retweeted about them were people talking about stats and info on them (such as the screenshots people were spreading around of the distributor they were buying from saying that the album sales from Korea would still count on the billboard 200). They thought that's what was going on based on their research, they reported it, and they updated the article when they got info that said otherwise. 5. No other kpop group has popped off in the US market yet 6. There literally hasn't been any other situation where ARMYs were coming after a group for promoting in the US. 7. The reason ARMYs were saying that they didn't deserve it and that they were undoing all the hard work BTS did is BECAUSE of the cheating. Locals are going to look at this whole situation and go back to questioning the legitimacy of any kpop groups that may try to break into the US market. 8. The people who said they were an embarrassment were random knetz, not ARMYs. ARMYs started spreading it around after knetz were found saying it on naver. 9. Literally nobody thinks there should only be 1 big kpop group in the west other than maybe rich white people in the Western music industry. 10. Nobody was even scrambling to find a reason to de-legitimize them, we found out about the 60+ bundle thing days before the Billboard 200 chart dropped and my tl was on fire. 11. Again, ARMYs have been calling out this behaviour at LEAST since late April/early May when the Jonas Brothers were doing it. It wasn't to this extent because they didn't have 60+ bundles, but people were saying things like, "damn what a sad state the music industry has become, it's not even about the music anymore." 12. Another reason ARMY are mad is because SM was literally branding them as "the next BTS" in the beginning

If you have watched "SuperM: The Beginning" it shows that Capitol themselves reached out to SM. Capitol already has artists all around the world but they were still missing something and that is korean artists. So Capitol reached out to SM to discuss that they want to partner with them. I think the reason why SuperM was made by picking out members from already existing groups is because if SM were to choose their trainees to *suddenly* get debuted in America, it would be a dumb move considering that the trainees has little to no experience yet.

I do not know an ARMY that does not like at least one or all members in SuperM. The problem is SM Entertainment making light of BTS' legitimate hard fought chart climb to recognition to just pay SuperM's way to recognition. I'm confused by SuperM as in they are being treated like a brand new fully fleshed out group rather than another subgroup when they are already part of fully fleshed out groups. Each member has to do the work of at least 2 or more people. SM can still make money without being lazy. Lazy as in instead of working on the stuff they lack and supporting groups and members that are not being paid attention to, they overwork and put attention on noble gas members of already established and popular groups. I'm glad the members of SuperM seem to be making the best out of the situation and do their job wonderfully, but I still am against the creation of SuperM as a whole, not against the members themselves. If it was treated as more of a temporary and seasonal subgroup like Triple H was for instance I wouldn't be as concerned. Also who tf is out here making the "Western" plans bc they keep failing.

I kinda have mixed opinions on SuperM. The Avengers of Kpop was a stretch and no one asked for that. I think that’s why some people were so negative at the beginning of it cause that was just a bit big headed. Some of the songs on the album were actually really good and they banged others not as much. Like it’s a good well rounded group on paper and on stage. In my opinion Mark, Taemin and Kai did well and shone in the group. I’m upset tho cause they did Lucas and Ten dirty. All this twitter fan base wars are getting tiring. It’s really sad when you enjoy a group but they’re constantly being shat on and then another fan group you identify which is knocking them down. It’s really SM making money and we all know that but at the end of the day but if the quality is the same (SM standard doesn’t lack) then is there really much to complain about.

A rapper from India broke RU-vid views but he cheated with ads. RU-vid has yet to say this guy won ,they put out a statement no more ads .And pray this guy would go away so public could stop bugging them. Well billboard made there statement about Superm one week later ,They move no.2 that people said Superm cheated (Summer Walker )to no3. Superm was so damn good they got few days at no 1. And yes those other artist bundle but SM lost there mind to many. slightly off topic from the video but: most EXO-Ls (including myself) were extremely mad at the fact that Baekhyun and Kai were overworked to the point of exhaustion. those poor guys had to plough through the intense rehearsals and photoshoots in between EXO's concert dates, when they should have been resting. concerts are tiring. imagine having to prepare for two tours for two separate groups whilst simultaneously preparing for EXO's comeback, all packed into the space of a few months. Baekhyun even stated that he hasn't had a single day off since his solo promotions, and has been seen getting himself injured a few times already. Kai too has expressed his tiredness on his IG live, and you can see it on his face. it's ridiculous. the fact that SM ent would sacrifice the physical and mental well-being of their most powerful idols for a few extra bucks, is just beyond me. they are human, and all human beings have their limits. hence it is essential for them to rest. that's basic human rights. bottom line: we are not against Baekhyun nor Kai nor the rest of the members of SuperM. we are just frustrated at the way SM ent mistreats their idols. that's all. stay pressed.

I think the main issue is people are sick of companies forcing western popularity. The more you force it the less genuine it becomes and the more you are reinforcing preconceived ideas and stereotypes about kpop. It's just so irritating to see SM basically unravel all the work that groups like BTS and GOT7 have done to try to eradicate these stereotypes so that future groups are able to have a better chance at succeeding.

I was honestly surprised when I saw all the hate the group got from their individual fanbases. Its disappointing that it's the first thing you see everytime they make a post on RU-vid because I really like their music. Super M practically introduced me to Wavy and made me want to learn more about NCT. Anyways, I really enjoyed your video and agreed with your points.

on twitter i know a lot of people that are reveluvs, i’m one myself. a lot of them were talking about how sm never gave red velvet this much promotion when they went #1 twice and some of their songs were eligible for riaa gold. red velvet is one of the most popular ggs in the west right now. sm should take advantage of that. for their redmare tour, they went to what? 5 cities? nct got to go to at least 10. don’t get me wrong, touring is stressful but less tour dates means less opportunities for fans to see their faves. fans want to see their faves, and they are willing to spend money on them. if red velvet went to more cities, sm would’ve gotten more money for his greedy self. red velvet have so many achievements to be proud of, yet sm sweeps it under the rug like it’s nothing. don’t get me wrong, exo, nct, & shinee have done amazing things, but they (especially nct) got the promotions for it and sm acknowledged them and used them to his advantage. i don’t hate shinee, exo, nct or superm. i’m an exo-l & a nctzen myself. in my opinion, i see superm as a way for sm and captiol to get money, they’re both greedy. at first, i thought superm wasn’t going to do well bc of the xenophobia in the us, and a lot of exo-ls were highly against this. superm is doing successfully right now, and i’m proud of them. the boys deserve it. a lot of armys hate on them tho, but they shouldn’t hate on them for being successful. don’t invalidate other group’s achievements to praise your fave’s. sorry for this long rant, just wanted to put my 2 cents in.

I dunno if I love the juggernaut of a record company SM but I do LOVE SUPER M (kinda wishing they had a different name now tho🙄). The bundling doesn't bother me either. Seems as tho the earned 1st fair & square. Which I think is cool & I'm army too.

About the bundle thing, i think a lot of people know that bundle isnt cheating, even Billboard themselves clarify that bundle is a way of charting. But the thing that im upset about is how the companies just want to achieve that "first album debut on no.1 Hot200" Like they almost give no f*ck about the public's reaction, the fans' thought and the only thing they care about is fame and money. When SuperM debut, they should care about the group's actual position, how people think about them instead of running for the number 1 on the chart I mean if SM care about the fans' reaction that much they probaby wont even come up with the SuperM idea at the first place

Sales in america is counted on billboard. But they used some method that sales in korea was counted. This they are investigating.

I like SuperM and their songs, and I will continue to follow them, but I’m confused as why they were really made in the first place. Most members are overworked, and SM already has enough boy groups and money. Despite the confusion, they were successful, and there isn’t much of a reason to attack them as a group.

It's not the artist's fault, it's the company's fault. They just focused on making money instead focusing on their artists who works their asses off. Now they had to manage *2 GROUPS* and they will get overworked. So... After I watched this video, I didn't knew that this accusion by other fandoms had occured before and after their debut. I will just stan SuperM 50/50. Because I didn't like the concept so much and on the other hand they all look handsome.

I think literally any previous exo, NCT, or taemin song sounds better than jopping like wtf. The English is comical...idk how SM and an American label could let that be the debut song smh

Look what SuperM did is no small feat and it’s incredible what they did. But their goal was to tackle the US market right? They got to the top of the charts but honestly I think it’s too early to call it a success. Longevity is what matters tbh. Like if they quickly fall off the charts that means the average person they were targeting didn’t care for it, only kpop stans i.e. their fans got them that achievement (which more power to SM stans that actually support this). Now, they all have huge fan bases so I do expect this to chart long and well, but is it really going to be looked at as something revolutionary? Probably not. Especially when a lot of SM stans are still really against this whole thing. I’m hopeful for this group but still skeptical. Especially when it’s an obvious cash grab by the companies.

I don’t even get the point of superm tbh.Taemin and baekhyun are expected to enlist in the military in like half a year so idk what sm was trying to do.I love the members cuz I really like shinee exo and nct but i feel sooo bad for them,they were already overworked and now they are twice as overworked and are getting so much unnecessary hate because of their company.It’s honestly so disappointing how sm is so desperate to have a group surpass bts’s success.We all know,wether we want to admit it or not,that no kpop group ever is going to achieve that level of success,for millions of reasons. I have been an Army since then, since BTS was not as big as now, they went through a lot of things, were blasphemed, hated, belittled, accused of plagiarism and so on. what I want to say is don't make other people feel what BTS feelback then. BTS teaches us as army to love ourselves and spread love, and I think BTS will definitely not happy and feel sad if there are army who do hate speech or demean others. as we say that karma is army so don't let it turn to us because of the bad things we do. The wheel is always spinning so while it's still on top let's spread the goodness like what BTS teaches us. if we don't like it and don't want to support it enough stop seeing. we just have to support our idols and protect them if something bad happens to them.
