Let's talk about Taming 7... | Boys of Tommen 

I get so excited for authors who get picked up by traditional publishers because it has to feel amazing for them to essentially get recognized for their work and see their stories in stores. However I will never understand why a publisher would pick up an established series with a big Following of readers who already know and love the story and then try to change how the author writes the next story. Obviously Chloe did fantastic writing the first 4, and people read them even though each book was over 600 pages. Why make her cut so much out? In character driven stories we need all those little moments to flesh those characters out so that by the end we know without doubt those 2 belong together. I finished 13 and 6 feeling like Shannon and Johnny and Aoife and Joey were end game. I finished 7 thinking, maybe they will make it. And after the reveal of what his step brother did I just thought, why? Gibsie already had trauma surrounding his father and sister, why add so much more. I also remember in 13 gibsie telling Johnny he wouldn't ask claire out because statistically relationships of people who get together in high school rarely make it so he wanted them both to live a little first. None of that was ever mentioned as a reason in Taming 7, his reasons were all surrounding his trauma. All through 13 we get the impression he is a player who has been with many girls. This came from his own mouth but also every single person around him including his friends who have known him since he was 7. Yet that was all just a lie? And claire was always miss sunshine but she never seemed as immature in the other books. I don't understand how you can be immature being surrounded by the traumatic lives of Shannon, joey, gibsie, and lizzie. Ugh I just was expecting to get similar vibes to what we got with 13 and 6 and was so excited for gibsies story and so let down after finishing. If the publisher really did make Chloe cut so much then they did her, her readers, and this entire series a huge disservice. I hope they realize their mistake and let her write the story she wants with claiming 10 because lizzie is a mess and she's gonna need those extra 50,000 words to make me have sympathy for her and figure out how hughie falls for her. Sorry this was so long but no one else I know has read the series yet so I only have my non reader husband to vent to and he can't figure out why fictional characters and stories can make me rant so much 😂

Ya in B13 and K13 claire had more going on. She seemed much more mature, but then she was playing hockey and stuff. Just having a life outside of the page that we could have gone into. Also I wish we saw more of claire helping gibsie with his with the water therapy. Also now gibsie is kinda into baking which is great but at the end of k13 he was serious about Johnny helping gibsie be ready to take the next step with rugby. I wish we had seen more. It needed to be two books. I wanted to see more past.

I’ve just finished it last night, spoilers!!! I got so tired about Lizzie keeping it up to Gibs and not wanting to hear anything! Also (might be coming from my own trauma lol) but I kinda hoped there was a reason that Claire was so happy and sunshiney all the time. I did love the book overall, more because it’s part of the series. If this would’ve been book 1, I wouldn’t have read the next parts if that makes sense. Last, I feel like the discussion of Gibsies trauma was so short! I wanted to know more about the after math, more about his mom and how he feels a few weeks after, not a few days.

Soooo many thoughts on this book. So this comment is probably gonna be all over the place 🤣🤣. Lizzie drives me nuts. I love this story but don’t know if I can handle more from her in the next book 🥴. Not a fan of a lot of the things Claire did or said either but I feel like I’m definitely alone in supporting the fact she called out the staff member at the school. Like lady what you did was illegal. You lowkey deserve what came to you 🥴. I love Gibsie though justice for that boy 😭.

I had a hard time finishing this book . What about calling Darren will this ever happened? What about mark? He needs to get charged and put away! Lizzie was way over the top I thought she was too much I really don’t understand why it was so forced, I also don’t think anyone would be okay with another friend treating another friend that way constantly especially since he DID NOTHING . Claire was so annoying and I couldn’t stand it. I also hope Joey doesn’t turn his back on gibsie because he should understand what gibsie went through!

I honestly don't even know if I can finish Taming 7.... I'm like 65% in and I just cannot.... I freaking loved the other 4. It's my favorite series I've ever read but this book is honestly terrible. 😢

Taming 7 felt flat i didn't enjoy claire in this book much the book should had been longer to me poor gibsie he really is surrounded by so much trauma i hope the next book is better i give this one 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐
