Love your dedication to reading, listening to and rewatching (or in some cases, enduring lol) everything that offers insight into these fascinating characters, and I cannot praise you enough for being a whirlwind of fresh air and enthusiasm when it comes to defending your absolute RIGHT to love whichever the hell character you like! All of Anne Rice's books are gay. She's said so. All her books have gay 'content', that's not the correct word I want to use, I can't think of it lol shit! Sam Reid IS Lestat, it's so amazing! Anne Rice would be so proud. Paul was mentally ill, it was obvious, the poor thing heard voices (the birds), and was even hospitalized, they spoke about it. I really hope Rollin Jones puts Grace's kids or their kids or grandkids lol into the story going forward. Yes, Anne uses a lot of prose & poetic speech.
I like very much the books, especially the Vampire Lestat. The film IWTV was great but the show tops all of them. I am so obsessed with it since episode one. Of course Lestat / Sam Reid is my favorite …I am Lestat defender 😊. Can’t wait for season 3. Like your passion for the show❤.

As someone who obsessed over the movie and books when I was younger, (and also love this show so much!) Everyone knew the books and movie was reaaaaaally gay, which is one of the reasons I loved it, and also why the books, especially the ones after Interview, were always highly criticized by the media at the time for being silly and stupid, even though each book after sold twice or three times as many copies of the original, it was in my humble opinion, same as it ever was, a bunch of stuffy guys whining about not being able to handle a gay book, they were fine with the murder but why did it have to be so gay,? why can't they just lust after women and kill women like good hot-blooded american, non frenchy, fancy pants? why can't Louie just leave Lestat and be with a women? Then maybe they could read it and then it could be normal. Sorry kind of went on a rant there, but I'm glad they didn't get their way, and that today you can finally have enough people that can accept, and even enjoy a show that is so queer themed, instead of having to be queer-coded. And thanks for loving it so much! I know everything's not right with the world, but stuff like this reminds of how much has really changed for the better. :)
I had more of an emotional attachment to the books and the movie just pissed me off back in the day couldn’t stop laughing because I can’t stay in the movie when people like Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are the main vampires. I understand understand why they did it I think but I don’t think it was the right choice.
The Audiobooks are good, at 2x speed I enjoy the faster pace. As for his Lestat walk, of corse he's struting around with a confidant powerful Ego he is playing "The Brat Prince". Oh as for the books "Blood and Gold" is the story of Marius de Romanus his story is a main historic crossroad's to lots of the Vampires old and newer.
For Louis, I would love to see explored the difference between how Lestat and Louis experienced/portrayed the night of Louis turning. Like in the trial, Lestat, albeit theatrically, mentioned 'how do you know that it was not you, calling to me, with your taboo and un-expressible desires etc.' This brings up the interesting point that Lestat must have known exactly how Louis already felt about him the whole time, and did Louis really want Lestat to be there for him or wish he could go to Lestat for comfort the night his brother died instead of with his family who estranged him for their thoughts of his blame. For Paul, I don't think they will explore this, (too much to cover), but I always thought upon re-watches that the priest responded 'no' to Louis confession that he blamed himself for his brothers death because the priest had previously heard many of Paul's confessions. Like, it's likely that Paul had had suicidal ideation and confessed about it to the priest but the priest either never got the chance to tell Louis, or perhaps is not allowed to I don't know how that works. That then goes into how Lestat continues to be sadly surprised at how much stuff Louis can hold onto against him over time like both the time he asks him if he's to blame for Paul's death and the time he blames him for Claudia's. Another thought, is I want to see someone talk about the parallels between Lestat making Claudia for Louis and then 'losing' Louis to Claudia and Louis making Madeline for Claudia and then 'losing' Claudia to Madeline. Also, and maybe they will dig into this, but I'm sure the reason Armand has never made a vampire is because he's deathly scared of making someone who's mind he can't read (control/influence) if he needs to. I would also love to dig into, or have Louis bring up, how being with someone and having absolutely no hobby or work on the side is a recipe for disaster no matter what being you are, as many of us grew all too familiar with during the pandemic. Like why is it not normal for vampires to disguise themselves and be busy? Would that not be healthier, more fun, and provide 'prey'? Anyways, those are just some initial thoughts.
Good point about Armand! Being a control FREAK, & I use that intentionally, bcse of his turbulent & unstable past, he doesn't have trust in others nor even himself. Poor thing is sooo insecure! He didn't have any control as a child or teen, then thrown into a vampire coven as their leader. He didn't know WTF to do. But that's where he gained & learned the power of being controlling.
Regarding the movies: the first one, there were moments that are drilled in mind, agree on the Louis and Claudia it was unsettling. QOTD: soundtrack, Aliyah was really good to me she is Iconic, it's a fun watch. The show, it has my sould from episode 1, I thought it would slowed down, but no, it hasn't so far.
I started the show on Netflix last week and OMG I was two episodes in and I REALLY tried to avoid it but I realized it's turned into a "thing." 😱🤣 EDIT: Ooh I collect DVD's too and I love me a nice snapcase! 9:16 I yell when I'm excited too. I try to control it and fail most of the time! LOL
The original Crow hands down is and always will be one of my favorite movies. The soundtrack for Queen of the Damned was done by Johnathan Davis from Korn, "My favorite band ever." Also, when Lestat is singing, it's Johnathans voice too. Plus, you get to see him trying to sell tickets to Jessie. I'm with you on the obsession of Interview of the vampire. Especially the last scene when Louie and Lestat finally reunite with each other when the storm is going, and they have there confessing to each other all the shit they put each other through. I never cried so hard in my life. They soul punched me with that one. I never thought I could love another series as much as I loved the walking dead, but here we are.
I love the first season of the show, it’s perfect in my mind and I know I’m in the minority when it comes to say this, but s2 was a huge letdown for me. So much so that I don’t think I will tune in to s3.

I really enjoyed the movie adaptation of interview with the vampire i did like the cast the role of Daniel was supposed to been played by another actor originally river Phoenix got the role but sadly he passed away brad Pitt didn't enjoy playing Louis due to the make up process thanks to the tv series i decided to continue reading the books so far read 5 books as for the film queen of the damned the producers decided to blend books 2 and 3 together it was a bad idea aaliyah was outstanding as akasha
I absolutely love the tv series rollin jones is brilliant as showrunner it's sad the show isn't getting awards so far unfortunately the show missed the Emmy awards deadline by two weeks im so excited for season 3 because the vampire lestat will finally get a true adaptation sam reid is fantastic as lestat i can't believe some fans of the show don't want to watch season 3 because it will focus on lestat character im surprised im curious whose going to play akasha

Kinda weird to say liking a fictional character is a red flag, but sure! (I actually interviewed Assad about playing Armand and he had some fascinating insight on the character. It’s a few videos back on the channel and Worth checking out if you like Armand.)

@@BearWrangler2 yeah it's always so irritating to me when people can't discuss / view a character independently. The relationships in IWTV are so complex sure, but the characters individually - when you zone in on just them and their backstory are so multifaceted... but just reducing them down blindly to belittle / overshadow other characters is just plain odd. Ignorance and microaggressions...and zero comprehension skills. IMO. All the leads have great strengths / flaws. that's the whole point of the story.
