Bipolar 1 here. I used to have paranoia in my early 20's before diagnosis. Most of my paranoia centered around my girlfriends cheating (they weren't) but I got these thoughts in my head. It was a major problem and ruined relationships. I also sometimes felt like friends were plotting against me or talking about me, etc. I was very sensitive to that kind of thing. However, I never went into a full blown psychosis. I never believed CIA was after me or anything of that sort. My paranoia was always somewhat realistic, but I had no evidence to back any of it up.

I agree, it's very important to read everything you can about an illness when you have it. Thank you for reminding us we are not alone. To answer your question, I have had three psychotic episodes as an adult. Each time, the paranoia has been overwhelming. My red flags are that I start to get suspicious and read coded messages into everything. I normally get post psychotic depression too. I am doing a lot better now thanks to medication and talking therapy. There's hope through recovery!

Thank you for sharing your story. I was just hospitalized less than a week ago for SI. I had some experience with paranoia but I didn’t know it was that until I got my diagnosis while in the hospital. I’m working on doing my research now and your video was one of the first ones I watched. It makes so much sense that almost felt like you shared my story. I’ve had this at school, jobs, relationships, and thought it was a common experience. Thank you for helping me make sense of my experience 🖤

Thank you for sharing . My husband was diagnosed 9 months ago and he has paranoia also. It’s so hard for him and it breaks my heart. I want to be his support. Sometimes this is hard and scary. But you give me so much hope. Bless you and your husband.❤️

I ended a friendship because I was not invited to a event. I think he did it because he is single and I just got married, but too me I felt like he was ashamed of me. Also he invited people that were my friends first and some of them i don’t talk too. I found out through someone else that was invited. I considered him one my best friends and couldn’t deal with it. Been in my bed all day and I haven’t been able to get work done. I know I will get over it but I might over reacted and deleted the person that told me and him off my social media. I did write a email and send a text before I did it. I regret it but in my experience when people act this way, it is never the same again. I think I might have PTSD because most people can’t handle my Bipolar mind.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It helps a lot to understand behaviors behind bipolar behavior. My partner has bipolar and I sometimes don't understand where his actions are coming from and then it all makes sense. As you mentioned about reading, are there any good books you'd recommend on bipolar disorder?

I have dealt with paranoia for a long time. mine is usually about my wife and her using me or lying to me. We have been together for 10 years and i have yet to prove any of my delusions. I still do not believe i am wrong. i just barley started taking medicine latuda didnt work at all vraylar worked at first and the quit working and i just started abilify. the only thing that makes me think i am wrong is how good vraylar worked it was like nite and day. I still believe all of the negative stuff about my wife and others around me. this makes me feel hopless and makes me feel like i should be alone so that i am not ruining my wifes life with all my mental problems.

The medication trials are difficult and can be frustrating for sure, but when you find the right one or combination it makes the struggle worth it. Abilify is my miracle med. Best wishes that you find yours soon.❤

i got diagnosed as bpd2 this last week and right now i’m hypo-manic and seriously paranoid because my family is camping so i’m home alone. i keep thinking i’m hearing things and people saying my name but i know there’s no one here. i’m trying to educate myself more on bipolar now that i’ve been diagnosed. not really sure what i’m trying to say in this comment other than thank you for the video. it’s making me feel a lot more calm knowing i’m not the only one thinking people are watching me and all sorts of other stuff. so yeah, thank you! (sorry this is really rambley)

ive been thinking my family doesnt want to include me in anything and they hate me and want to me die, my friends aswell. and that they talk and plot agaisnt me behind my back. also thought there were listening devices in lamps, threw my shoe and broke a lamp. also thought that someone was inside my house and standing over me and watching me while i slept and hitting my shoulder or head area softly just to scare me and i woke up and waving my arm towards the figure. noticing every sound and shadow outside my window, sneaking up to a safe place to peak outside

Becarefu do not use others to feed your diagnosis but to be aware of little changes in your behavior that may signal a possible looming episode

Thank you for sharing your experience! At the moment, I'm trying to work on the psychological side of my original characters (that I make for my comics, stories, etc) and I'm trying to study carefully each corresponding mental illness of the characters to try to interpret them as accurately as possible. I love watching videos like yours explaining and talking more about your own experiences so I can understand it better! Oh, and it helps me a lot too because I also end up learning more about my own illnesses! :))

@caleighbocrie577 3 года назад
That’s awesome! I really appreciate that you’re doing the research into these mental illnesses to more accurately portray them in your characters that do have them. A lot of people just create stereotypical versions of those with mental illness, either vilifying them or romanticizing them. Do you write stories/ draw comics? I’d love to check it out if you’ve posted them anywhere. I’m an artist myself and I’ve been going through mental health issues for 14+ years. I use my art and other people’s art to help me understand and process my mental illness and traumas, so it’d be wonderful to support a fellow creator, especially when it comes to storytelling and mental illness.

Thank you for sharing and being so brave. I'm the support system for my son. How does your support system help you with your paranoia if your paranoia is about them?
@AngelHawks
@AngelHawks 4 месяца назад
The best way for them to help me is to ensure that I'm utilizing my resources (counselor and medication) properly. Sleep is also critical. I understand that this can be difficult based on the severity of the paranoia. Best wishes to you and your family. I hope this is helpful. I'm not qualified to give the best advice on treatment.

Thank you for being so open and sharing. Ive had the same thoughts and trying to rational the irrational thinking is hard. I have the same thinking of a camera in every room. I had a different experience today in public that people were following me for a certain reason. I was trying to find an aanswer to why I found this feeling so real and I think by hearing from you and that you have similar situations with the same diagnosis bi-polar 2ith parinoia, I am able to think that one, I really appreciate this video. You're brave and a beautiful soul for sharing such a hard part of having bi polar. Two, you have helped me and from 2hat I can see, others who have watched this. Thank you so much.
