I first started reading fanfic when i was 12. im 28 now and I hadn't had a passion for reading in years. Over the last three years or so i bought countless books and havent been able to get the spark for reading back into my soul. But once i picked up manacled i could not stop. I was ravenous reading it. I read it in 2 days or so. Returning to fanfic has been one of the ebst decisions in my life. Definitely recommend Let the Dark In by Senlinyu as well. It's incompleted so far and updates are sparse but it is SO good.

Measure of a man is my all time favorite fic. It’s one of the only fics that it regularly reread, as in about 2 weeks after I finish it, I start it again. It’s just- amazing lol

If you want to try your hands on something not Dramione here is my rec... When the lioness fights by Kayla on fanfic. It is an absolute oldie but a goodie and don't let yourself be deterred by the weird pairing, that story is exceptionally brave in the writing because it goes new ways but the characters are so intricately woven and their relationships so real that I just fell in love. Also: an absolute beautiful Dramione is détraqué. It is the longest story I have ever read, fanfiction or otherwise but gosh is that woman talented I swear that I have never read something comperable. She is a genius. It is the slowest Slow-Burn ever but you just want to stay in hermiones brilliant, sparkling mind and watch her journey. I hope that someone reads this comment and gets to experience the absolute admiration and love I have for this fanfictions too. Much love from Germany! ❤

I used to scoff at fanfiction and I could NOT see the appeal of Hermione & Draco pairing. But then I heard so much about Manacled in mainstream Booktube that I started reading… And the quality of these fanfics just blew me away! I think many are way better than international bestsellers in romance. I hope these super talented writers get to publish their works (ofc not possible with HP universe setting) and I’m so happy that Rizzle is now publishing a scifi trilogy.

Dramione is really the best ❤️ two other highly recommended fan fic by Senlinyu (author of the brilliant Manacled) are: All you want and Let the dark in. The first one is really hot and by now the best within this section and the second one is still in progress by her. Both are just as good and brilliant as Manacled. For me, Senlinyu is the best author of this shipping ❤️

Especially if you are a new to the fanfiction world I really recommend WIP's. They are kind of part of the appeal of fanfic for me as a seasoned reader. The joy and community and excitement in the comments is the best and carrying the characters with you for some while can really enhance your reading experience. Hugs!

I've just finished Manacled and I'm absolutely in love with it!!! The rights and wrongs series (I've read the two of them, except for the Auction) was the fic that brought me into Dramione❤‍🔥... literally adore it. Isolation is really good too, but I loved the rights and wrongs more, maybe just because of the settings change. What the room requires is an ABSOLUTE must, if you haven't still read it. It's a bit short, but soooo good... I cried a few times😅 The video is amazing!! Thank you for the recs I'm on my way to read all of them🖤🖤🖤

If you want an adorable dramione + Scorpius story, I recommend The Order of the Serpents. It’s really good and another Voldemort Wins au.

My main problem with the Rights and Wrongs "trilogy" (I have read The Right Thing to Do and The Auction) is that most explicit scenes are uncalled for; the books slowly drift towards a rather porni-ish version whilst up to that very moment they were graphic yes but somehow in a logical way. I feel that these two books sort of get lost at some point. Another negative is that it seems like the whole story is SOLELY thought out in order to get to the two main characters having intercourse / getting together, which means that when they (rushedly, in my opinion) do, there isn't much else interesting to say until the end (these aren't short stories so you're left with lots of chapters afterwards but they whole focus on the background situation was lost in favour of lovers quarrels starting many chapters prior already). All difficulties and hurdles are somehow easily overcome as soon as it's needed. The world depicted is supposed to be ruthless but the main character always manages not to be THAT affected, which - don't get me wrong, does save you some anxiety and traumas but- makes the whole precondition flimsy and unrealistic. I felt like throwing up several times as I was reading THOSE terrible scenes in Manacled (since you mentioned this one fanfiction in the specific saying you ended up comparing it to The Auction) albeit I am not that easy to break (nor am I into fluffy happy endings by any means) and I couldn't help curse at the author under my breath, I couldn't wait for that TORTURE (pain, violation, abuse inflicted to characters and whatnot) to finish and not being thrown at me again and again... (and I still kept going because that's what it was supposed to be like: rejecting and INTELLECTUALLY suffering that abuse with the characters so that you can understand them) but it did make sense and couldn't have been much different, no matter my remonstrations: they made you understand the characters and were the logical consequence of the type of world those characters were living in. I was disappointed in the "series" mainly because those books were well-written and the initial idea did not seem bad. I was especially liking The Right Thing to Do, finding it quirky and cute without being mawkish... until it abruptly changed and nothing important happened anymore in favour of pointless, harsh, impromptu sexual scenes (which, by the way, didn't change where the plot was going much either). I kept going for a while but then got very bored and kept getting distracted. I believe Manacled to be an ACTUAL book which made me take fanfiction works seriously... albeit unfortunately most of them are not worth it in my opinion.

I just finished Remain Nameless and I agree with you. It feels like the writing style changes right after they get together and their personalities as well. Hermione becomes this ultimate all-forgiving saviour and that doesn't sit right with me.

As much as i loved Manacled i needed Rename Nameless for the more joyful relationship. GINNY was amazingly written.

I finished manacled yesterday, i will never be the same again. So hard to explain to my partner how i feel right now 😂. Ive never experience this feeling from a book. Need a few days to figure out what ill read after. Incredible! 5 🌟

I loved this you have the same taste as me! I read Manacled first fanfic EVER. Was never a Dramione Stan but I’m all about it now! Loved Manacled, went straight into the Auction and I loved it probably more, not read the two previous books so I’ll read them now. I came here to try and find my next fanfic. I’m not sure about breath mints, I prefer the one’s set outside of school I think. Probably because I’m over 40 and reading about kids doing the nasty feels wrong lol

Dramione is my OTP. Just first read was Broken. It was amazing. And every fic that followed made me love Dramione more and more. Dramione forever....❤❤❤

Couple additional (no particular order*): 1) Timeless Series by alexandra_emerson . . . similar to The Time Traveler's Wife seriously, these are so so so good. Tip: I took a break between reading each of these pieces in the series because they go back over the same material with a different twist on each one so I needed a cleanser in between. 2) Wait and Hope by mightbewriting--this one is ever so longingly sweet on the part of Draco--in this one Hermione has lost her memory and doesn't realize she is married to Draco, so Draco must deal with mourning the loss of the relationship with his wife while simultaneously winning her back. I love that this one shows the relationship from the other side where Draco is already in love with her and where their friends all love and support the couple and encourage them, urging them on (which is the opposite dynamic to most dramoines). 3) Love and Other Historical Accidents by PacificRimbaud is super cute, especially for Austen fans. 4) Sugar and Spice by inlovewithforever--this is draco/hermione/theo . . . if you don't think you'd like a trio/triad, skip, but you might surprise yourself . . . I think it's adorable 5) just tacking on my favorite favorite favorite pounding-fists-on-the-wall why isn't it finished but I've read it 3+ times anyway unfinished fic is Amid the Chaos by shayalonnie whyyyyyyyyyy (is it unfinished) . . . you won't realize it's dramione in a way until the end/not end, and 6) if you want to try a different ship, try Safe Word is Devil's Snare by shayalonnie--you may not think you'd like dom/sub, but I bet you'd be surprised you liked it if you try this one--this one is Hermione/Neville, and Neville's character is chef's kiss in this fic. *warning: a couple on this list are racy but certainly no more than Manacled

100% agree with you on Isolation! I've been on a mission to reread every single dramione fic i saved to my library on wattpad when i was like 14yo, but i took a break to read Isolation since it was one of those very well known and recommended dramione fics. After like a good 10 chapters i started hating it! It dragged, so much unnecessary smut in my opinion, it got to the point where i just stopped nearly halfway because i just couldn't force myself to get to the halfway point! Once I came back to finish it after like 4 months, and forced myself past the dorm days and into more of the war times, especially the battle, it was muuch more tolerable and I actually did enjoy the ending! Still kinda shocked though that it's so high up in the fan favorites when i could BARELY get through it. Also, i agree with you on enjoying dramione at a catching up point that is way past war times & resolved trauma, they open up the door for much more fun & lightheartedness. That's the type of stories I prefer for this ship since I ship it for funsies!

Also I’m wanted to say: Manacled isn’t dark in the entire book in the sexual sense. There are dark sexual moments, but a lot of dark novels focus only on that aspect. I like that you mentioned how it’s dark in the hopeless sense because that really hit what I felt on the head. It’s written really well, the only other note that I noticed was how you have to get through some of the Hermione pieces. I loved her to bits, but she cried a lot a LOT. Not saying she’s not strong but it’s a bit grating to read. But trudge through soldier! The background as to why really helps flesh out her character and puts everything together.

So right about Measure of a Man. But DMATMOBIL is amazing, would be a great movie, SUCH A GOOD RIDE its soo so so so good. Like Measure of a Man is heart wrenching and a long journey to sink into. Also halfway through From Wiltshire with Love and Breath Mints/Battle Scars, the latter of which I can't stop reading, THE BEST DEPICTION OF TOXIC PEOPLE EVERRRRR but in a really exciting way.

Just FYI if you buy fanfiction from etsy you put thee authors in a problematic situation even if they dont sell it themselves and many authors remove their works from the web after it starts getting sold which hurts the fandom. keep fanfiction free

An year late but i giggled when i saw this video because i just love dramoine fanfic getting the mainstream props it deserves lol Big agree on not liking remain nameless, bmbs and even the auction as much as they're hyped i think it's just the edginess of the second two gets too much sometimes. Isolation was a fic of it's time, it was THE accessible well written enough dramoine at the time to get you into it. I discovered everythursday (sage) fics much later ofc and the fallout, for whom the bell tolls, parade of the sun are my favourites. But what I'll recommend beyond anything is THE POLITICIANS WIFE especially if you like mortifying ordeal's funny talkative draco

Also, The Deadline is one of my all time favorites. ❤️

I agree with you 💯 with the exception of isolation; I DNFd isolation after she got him a pass to go outside but now it seems like I have to go back and finish. Yes, BMBS is a lot like the beginning of isolation, I did not like it like I loved the others. Oh! If you haven't read it already, Disappearances of Draco Malfoy is great. If you find Cursed Child to be canon,"Wreck" does a good job turning it Dramione while staying in canon. Perfectly in Pieces was beautiful but lots of angst there. Teach me to Forget was another good lighter one. I'm sure there are a million others; I hope you continue to share your thoughts on them :)

Dramione is my Roman Empire 😹 I've been reading Dramione fanfiction for 10ish years now. I've read some really bad ones that make me cringe just thinking about them, and some really amazing ones that are top tier and, in my opinion, better written than the actual canon books. I have a list of fics I love so much that I re-read them about once a year or if I'm in a reading slump and can't find something new to read. A lot of these stories are so well written that they have ruined actual books for me. People usually poke fun at me when I talk about being an avid fanfiction reader in my 30s, but they don't know what they're missing! Some of my favorite authors are fanfiction authors. I can't imagine that they have a day job and just write as a hobby, because they have such a gift with words that it seems almost criminal that they aren't getting paid for it. Another reason I love fanfiction, specifically Dramione/HP fics, is because I feel like it is a way for us to take the fandom back and enjoy the characters and the world that we love without supporting an author with views that are very different from our own. These books and characters hold a special place in our hearts, and we love them so much that the 7 books weren't enough for us. A lot of people were devastated and hurt by JKR's words. I know it ruined the books for a lot of people. Reading and writing fanfiction is a way for us to still enjoy the magic. We've formed our own little online community that spans over various platforms where we can talk about something we all love, ask for and give recommendations to each other, share our art inspired by the fandom, give and get book binding tips and tricks, and just genuinely be supportive of one another.

Just seeing this video, but anything Senlinyu is absolutely phenomenal. All You Want is an absolute favorite of mine it’s an alpha/beta/omega fic but so good! We also have Love and Other Misfortunes which is a Draco veela mates fic. Both are great “creature” fics by Sen if you haven’t gotten to them already.

As someone who has read so much fan fic I can no longer remember the names anymore... Does anyone else remember that alternate reality where everyone had inverted morals and Dumbledore was the evil one? Or the very specific subset of fics where the students of Hogwarts are grouped into 3 and one is turned into a young child without their memories while the other 2 have to play patent?

The artwork is beautiful too, Scorpius is adorable I wanted to put him in my pocket and protect him. I want it to get turned into a book like Manacled. I just download the file from ao3 and upload it to my kindle library on my app on the desktop.

Ok so I have just learned about being able to download these stories. I have an iPhone so when I downloaded them it opened up directly to iBooks when using epub. Will this cause problem later or is it just a shortcut? Btw love the video and explanation

epub does support larger fics i downloaded a 640k fic through epub and it works fine! though i did open it in ibooks i would assume it’s the same for kindle

Isolation is the one I’ve read after years and it sucked me right into dramione fics again. (Last one I have read was in 2009) It is such a good fic until the very end of it… I felt like it was not tied very well at the end, other than that it will hold a special place in me ❤️

I seek help in trying to remember the name of a dramione fanfic i swear i have read but i can remember the name and i can find anything online so i don't know if i just imagined the entire thing. The plot is basically draco and Hermione both works as i think journalists and the both get tasked with finding Harry who went into hiding just after the battle of Hogwarts. It's a really secretive mission and they stay in a little cottage type of house whilst trying to locate harry who turns out is trying to destroy the artifacts that make you the master of death, listen i can't remember 😅. They eventually find him and have a party with everybody back home. Is this an actual fanfic or did i just make myself believe i read a fanfic like this?

I used Manacled as may way back into reading. Now I can't read anything anymore. I've already read it the second time and I'm desperately looking for similar recommendations, otherwise I'll never read another book..

None of the epubs I send to my Kindle email never work. I haven't been able to send any fics to my Kindle unless it's a mobi file. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I've been trying to figure it out for the past few days and nothing is working.

BM/BS it's so fucked up and i felt so filthy reading it. BUT IT'S SO GOOD. It's not for the faint of heart, the topics and the plot are REALLY dark and their relationship is toxic af, so it could be triggering for some people. It's really good though.

Hey so at 6:38 you said you got it physically bounded. May I ask if you bounded this yourself or did you buy it from another seller? Because if that’s that case I highly advise you to not promote that as that is highly illegal and downright scummy practice. First off, the author didn’t authorize people to resell their fanfic so for somebody to print and make a profit off of work that isn’t there’s is scummy. Second, this is causing other fic writers to take their stuff down off of A03 to avoid any legal issues down the line. Unfortunately fanfics are more likely to get into legal trouble in the end and buying physical bounded books like this contributes to this. Again please reconsider and not to promote physical bounded fanfics unless you are making it for yourself.

I loved Dramione as a Teenager (waaaay back when the series wasn't even finished! I'm 32, Dramione exist since forever!) and I just got sucked back because of my Co-Worker.
