I live in the UK (not near a store) so all my bags ordered online are made in Paris. However, twice now I've had to return and exchange due to unsatisfactory quality on first unboxing. Quality issues are definitely not just a US thing. Very hit and miss
Now I will rant because I feel your pain!! I just purchased the NeoNoe BB in the monogram print and I absolutely love it!! With my first purchase of this bag, I noticed that on both sides, the way it was assembled just didn’t look right. I did notice then that it was made in the USA. The RU-vid videos that I saw of this bag were made in Italy Theirs were definitely better made! I do think that there are more issues with made in USA pieces. I don’t know if it is because of lack of experience or that they just don’t care but I don’t appreciate what the USA factories are producing. I purchased my bag shortly after they posted their videos and mine was already made in USA. Living in the USA, you are more likely to receive a made in USA piece period! I returned the bag and reordered it and I’m still not happy with the stitching inside the bag (another USA made) but how many times am I going to purchase and return the same bag?! I will tell you this, once an item begins being manufactured in the USA, you WILL NOT get a made in France, Italy or Spain. You might luck out in store but that isn’t guaranteed either. I wanted a regular Speedy 25 in monogram. I’m not joking, the store I went to had 10 and they were all made in the USA!! 🤦♀️ I would absolutely recommend shopping directly at the boutique because that is the only way to guarantee what you’re getting. Unfortunately for me, I relocated to an area that has NO LV boutiques for 100 miles so now I have no other choice but to order online. Now it is a hit or miss. It has become an unpleasant unboxing experience because I don’t know what I’m going to receive!! 😡 I decided to keep the 2nd bag but not without a bitter taste for LV. Thanks for letting me vent!! 😂
I live in London and I always have to go to different stores as most of low priced bags have flaws (sad reality). Any bag after 2018 from LV, the quality has gone down dramatically. I have the the same bag but size 25 monogram brought in 2017, it’s beautiful but I’m not looking forward with the tarnishing of the hardware. Hope you get the bag you deserve ❤
Thank you for sharing. I bought the same bag over a month ago brand new at lv store in ny. Idk if it's just me but, the canvas feels thin and flimsy. I compared it to the vintage monogram speedy and the vintage one seems to have thicker canvas with no cracks. I looked up preloved damier ebene speedys and they seem to wear and tear more with cracks along the zippers and rubbing off edges. I feel like lv quality seems to decline ?
Thank you for sharing. My next purchase is the bandouliere 30 (hoping the world tour version) so now I know to really inspect the whole bag. I agree with you to bring it to LV's attention. We're spending so much (these are not chunk change) and we expect quality in return. Hoping you get some resolution and please do update us.
Thank you so much! Thankfully I had no issues with exchanging the purse, however the SA tried to tell me the glazing having imperfections is very common, but I insisted on getting a different one and the manager came in to process an exchange for me 🙏🏽
Hey, I got the world tour version of this bag. Collected it 5th November and have used it almost daily since picking it up. No quality issues whatsover if that helps!
I completely hear you. I am done with LV. I returned two purses this weekend. The high rise bumbag and the Diane. The Diane was the most disappointing. Uneven stitches. Uneven spacing of the vachetta in relation to the bag and the other side of the bag and the stitches. The SA told me they are handmade. I have seen how bags are made. If they were made by hand, they would be impeccable. And they are no longer that. I am so perturbed by it and just sorely disappointed, I used to respect their artisanship and that is no longer the case. Went to Tory Burch instead. Her bags are gorgeous and impeccable. No more LV. Not until they fix this stupidity. And they don’t even do the date codes anymore after 2019, they have chips they can scan and they won’t tell you where it’s made.
I have got my bag in Paris (Made in France), returned it the same day, got an exchange and the second bag still has minor imperfections, so it is not a "panacea". For those interested, I have got Alma BB DE
You have 30 days to return your Louis Vuitton bag I just hope you got it from a Louis Vuitton I just got mine and it was made in America I have no problem it really does not matter if your bag is from Spain France Italy or USA there are issues I got some of my LV handbags from France and had problems Italy have problems too
I got my speedy 25 today and when i got home I noticed that the zippers are two different tones of gold !! Also the nails on the handle from one side !! I’m returning it tomorrow
Unfortunately, I have had the same experience with the Speedy B 30. I checked 3 versions and they all had imperfections. They were all made in France which was shocking to me. I ended up buying another bag style.
same. some people say made in usa usually have imperfections and made in France are considered better, however, I have got my alma bb in Paris (Made in France), returned it the same day, got an exchange and the second bag still has minor imperfections so I am wondering what is considered "normal" for these bags
I received the Speedy 35 Damier a couple of days ago (made in USA) and the leather handles were rippling underneath. I felt the defect as soon as I grabbed the handles which is why I am so surprised LV would still ship to a customer. Returned immediately. Just reordered and if there is a 2nd issue I’m done. What were the results of your return?
Mine has that rippling on the handles too. I bought it a week ago. It doesn’t bother me too much but I agree there really isn’t an excuse for a $2,000 bag. Like come on. I’m not a huge details person but I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for this stuff. When I buy another one on mono I’ll try and request a Made in France (although I hear it increasingly rare to find in the USA).
