GET THEM PROJECTS DONE-IT'S ALMOST X MAS! FAST INTAKE VIDEO IS UP! WHY DO ALL THE 243/799 HEAD OWNERS WANT TO MODIFY THE HEADS TO COMPARE TO THE 706 HEADS?
I just bought a Trailblazer SS and find your testing awesome. I bought a set of Total Engine Airflow stage 2 243’s with a comp 459 cam and a fast lsxr intake with some 1” 7/8 long tubes. Can’t wait to make some real power soon! Thanks for all the hard work sir!
1000$ intake manifold is twice what my first few engine rebuilds cost. Sometimes we get so cought up in keeping up with the Joneses that we let that stop us from having fun with building what we have. Taking a 165 HP 350 to 300 on a budget is still just as fun as it ever was. So get out to your bone yard and find some cheap stuff to play with.
An engine is all about the whole package. Now I can see having a tight budget, so build the shortblock with the pistons as per the desired final spec. Best to install the desired cam at the same time, but can be upgraded later as long as the heads can handle the lift. If not deal with the heads and then the cam. The thing is to come up with a final build plan and determine how to get there, then stick to it. You do not want to purchase parts to get by for now and then upgrade later.
I never made the step up to the fast just stayed with the ls6 for a stock factory look I'm leaving power on the table but for the fast swap with every thing it's alot of money for the gain in power
If you order FAST intake, rails are separate and so are injectors. So the FAST, altogether this setup will set you back right at 2k or better. This is big box store prices. Oh and throttle body is separate too and haven’t found a FAST drive by wire throttle body just drive by cable. Snake Eater Performance makes one though.
I have a pair of Advanced Induction cnc'd 243 heads. 226cc I believe. Had them ported to go on my LS1 97 Corvette. Now want to use them in my hotrod I'm building. A 46 International Harvester on Jaguar suspension. Mocked up with a 5.3l/4l60e I want an Aluminum block to shave weight off the front end. With ported 243 heads, is an Aluminum 5.3l a good match or should I look to find an LS1, LS2, or maybe a 383 stroker built from an Aluminum 5.3l. Plan is to purchase a built short block to use with the heads I already have. Thanks for the videos and advice. Also, sticking with NA, just heads, cam, exhaust.
How much power did your ls1 corvette gain with the 243 heads because i am planning in putting 243 heads on my 00 corvette but im wondering if is worth it to get the 243 heads ported or should i just not get them ported the 243 because i am planning to put also stage 2 BTR cam kit
I am planning on doing the 243 heads on my LS 1 5.7L 00 corvette so I'm not planning in putting any boost but i do like the chop noise so what would you go with a stage 2 BTR cam kit or the stage 1 BTR cam kit
I put gas in my gas hog 454 blazer and drove it around the block to keep it from rusting up. Does that count as a project? Its ready to shread snow if we get some.
Awesome channel brothers! I’m having a lq9 built now for my 2002 ss fast intake 243 ported and shaved 10-20 thou titanium retainers ls7 lifters upgraded oil pumpTexas speed cam Texas speed long tubes! What are your thoughts?
I’m stuck between the decision of 706 or 243’s on a 96 Chevrolet pick up truck. truck norris cam in a LQ9. I have asked this question on forums. I’m getting a lot of mixed answers. not sure which one to choose 706 or 243? I currently have 317 heads.
So on my LS1 corvette im planning on putting the 243 heads not planning on doing any boost so do you suggest to get the 243 ported or not because i do like the chop noise so what would be the best combination a BTR stage 2 cam kit or a BTR stage 1
I got impatient on out of stock injectors I wanted and went up to there next size. 96cc at 43.5?lbs my thinking was they would handle everything my Turbo was capable of supporting -on E85 . Do you y'all think I or a tuner will have issues getting it tuned/ idle if I run them before I install the turbo. 6.0 Trailblazer SS truck Norris Holly Terminator Snake Eater injectors. Thanks
I have junk yard alloy lc9 5.3 with 243 heads. Im doing forged pistons, springs cam and a turbo. Are the alloy blocks strong enough for 1000hp or should I find an iron block. Thanks mate 🇦🇺
I’m doing a lq4 swap on my 91 k1500, got some cnc ported 243 heads, 1 7/8 long tube headers, fast lsxr intake, still stuck on what cam would be good for my build, want to push 400 whp
103mm air force throttle body is saying it's the best over the 102-105mm bodys I believe it's 104mm 18 15 ring gap on pistons is a claim on street n/a claim
