After many, many years of building and assembling high performance V8’s, I had to learn the hard way and the expensive way that a double roller timing set or aftermarket rocker arms were not necessary on high performance LS engines. Eventually I learned that all reputable shops/ people a lot smarter than me were using single row chain sets and stock or stock style rockers 100 percent successfully.
Watched your vedio on the 460 builds. This made my mind up. The 500hp build was great. Flat tappet cam, ported C8 heads, made peak power round without turning just over 6000rpm! I'm just gonna buy the roller tip rockers just to make sure the ratios are all the same. Good old redneck tech motor reliable on a dirt cheap budget. It's gonna spin the tires thru 1st gear anyway 😂😂😂 !
LS go factory rocker, go cam and springs, save up for trunion upgrade. Inspect the pads if there worn go back to the store (the junk yard) and grab a few with less miles 😅
A roller tip rocker will always loose ratio when not at 90deg to the valve. A shoe type rocker depending on design can maintain or even gain some ratio depending on how the tip is made geometricly.
