It’s been so lovely to see you so more together than in the past. The counselling really seems to be working for you. Stick in there, the improvement has been quite the change over the months. I do love watching your videos and the things you get up too. I’m disabled but can walk around. Thanks for this video Will. It kind of gave us a better insight of what makes you "you" I've followed you for a few years now-more recently under my guise as viv-i-van goes forth. You mentioned reasons-or should I say the "right" reasons to start a youtube channel. I've not started mine for any other reason than to share what I'm aiming to do in the van. I'm under no illusion that you have to have thousands of followers and likes just to make a few quid on youtube and money was never a driving force for me. Like you, I just wanted to share my enjoyment of the van and use it to become a member of the youtube vanlife community. Granted, having major faults on the van hasnt helped me in getting out to do stuff and film it-and Ive realised you guys work bloody hard to film and edit and make it look awesome-which you always do and thats stuff I'm trying to learn too. You do need to realise how inspirational and helpful your channel is though. From speaking about mental health issues ( I have them-thats why I got the van) to telling it like it is about van life, building the van, stuff going wrong. I love your channel and am really looking forward to seeing where you go. My van is now fixed. I did my first "wildcamp" on the side of the road in Lytham in freezing cold weather last sunday but my gimbal bluetooth wouldnt connect with the phone so epic fail on any video, but I enjoyed it and finally "got" what buzz you capture in your vlogs. That and this Q&A explains why you are so loved by many van life channels including the awesome Neil and Emma whose channel-and yours inspired me to get a van. Loved the q&a! Only thing I wanted to point out to anyone reading is please think twice about using OCD to describe wanting to be very clean. That’s a common misconception but OCD is not actually a love of being clean. It’s an illness characterised by an intolerance for uncertainty and it can latch on to anything (even your own existence) and make you doubt it. It’s one of the top 10 most debilitating mental illnesses and it takes lives. No shade I just like to spread awareness when people use it as a joke. No hate, love your channel x

Thank you for your honest statement! I will watch every vid you post in the future, like I already do, don´t care which direction you go. I think I will still love them! How about some sight seeing in the UK? There are so many intersting and lovely places there. You could combine it with van live and show lovely places of your country or any other. Old castles, towns of history, amusement parks and pubs too. Anyway, keep on, as long as you love to do it. It´s your decision and I respect it. But you so far do a great job. Will, maybe you could try this trick to reduce or stop winter condensation in your van. Seemingly in Scandinavian countries they practice this process every 3 hours per day - for 3 minutes they open all windows and this exchanges the warmed up moist air for colder DRY air which doesn’t therefore allow condensation. Maybe you could do a video trial of this?? Keep on what your doing!

3 minutes? That's depends on different factors like size, how many rooms, floors etc. It's more like keeping the same temperature in all areas to keep toxic mold away. It's also about 15 minutes every hour. And air out bedding, pillows and towels outside to keep them fresh and dry and to reduce the amount of dust mites.

Hi Will. Enjoy your openness & honesty on your channel. I'm glad you're not living full time in van. As it's obvious that you enjoy company. And need it. Haven't noticed any videos from hyou with a bike. I've just had yesterday an ebike. And looking forward to using it out of my Campervan travels. I'm just 78 (31st Dec) not quite finished build yet. But only aesthetics to finish. My wife died 20mths ago & doing build & freedom to just go out on a whim. Just put some extra clothes with it being winter.

With reference to your OCD: Did anyone else notice the left had knob on the cooker wasn’t vertical like the others - it appears to be slightly rotated anti-clockwise. Great video, and thanks for the insight into your van living experiences.

As for the cruise control: this is rather easy to fix. There are plenty of resources how to add it. You do need someone with the software to enable it in the ecu but for the rest its just a matter of wiring a stalk. I have the slightly older version of your van and that even didn’t require ecu programming. Total cost was 20 eur for the stalk at a scrapyard. Quite sure you can diy it for less than 200 gbp if you ask around for someone who can do the ecu programming (and they might be able to do the keyfob as well)

Interesting ref the size of your van - I have a 6m Ducato and can normally squeeze into parking spaces but I find the turning circle the biggest pain- do you find with the shorter van this is less of an issue or is it still a pain? the transit mini bus is called a transit 460, the 470 is the same size but a van and the 500 has a 5t limit where as th2 470 has a 4.7t limit, hope this help. if you could get one imported from the usa they are a 3.5l v6 diesel too and 4x4 or 4x6 if you want to be technical

"All weather conditions" - that is quite big thing to cover. -40C rules out diesels and the living compartment needs to be constructed with no cold bridges, equipment has to be insulated and condensation will be a big issue. Being "aggressive" in ability to get to difficult to access places (ie. unmaintained logging roads) requires not only ability to drive sparing the mechanisms, winch yourself out of the trouble you weren't smart enough to avoid but also repair the vehicle in difficult conditions, call for help where there is no cellular network and gear to help you get back out on foot if you have to abandon the vehicle. What comes to hot conditions, I have less to advice as I am a Finn. Insulation works both ways, but A/C brings comfort. Cold weather tires become mushy on warm roads and wear out fast. All terrain driving course on 4x4 would be a good start to give you some ideas on what kind of conditions are extreme enough for you - I would guess that interesting locations are more rewarding than reaching the end of the logging road during the winter, wet, exhausted and having winched the vehicle for last few kilometers. Maybe a ham radio course for emergency communications and something to do at silly remote locations? (Check OH8STN channel ru-vid.com/show-UC3xxr5EeFDtxnuHTWsDu2rA for ideas - he is quite advanced, but his approach is not dependent on electric grid)

Strangely, quite possibly your best video yet Will, straight and honest answers with a great dose of humour for good measure, absolute fecking legend!! Next van build, why the minibus? You can get long wheelbase high top transits on twin rears, means putting your own windows in but also means you can stick them wherever you like? For yr next build (and puppy dog ideas) l absolutely urge you to watch Max and Occy. He's a Paramedic that does full timr van life in Australia. Best van conversion ever. Very comfy, the van is 7 metres long, shower, toilet etc. It does have a convertible bed but l still think its worth a watch, especially his last trip along the West Australian beaches. Hey Will...A dog for OCD ... Lhasa Apso is a Tibetan Bhuddist Temple dog... quiet, but alert to danger, anger and unwelcome visitors... Doesn't shed hair, doesn't smell, intuitive, fun. Need to keep clipped in hotter months... Love mine and it loves travelling in my caravan in Australia.

I started my channel because I like the idea of learning video editing. After a couple of camping trips, i started to record them. love the outdoors, finding new places. We spent a lot of money on our channel. Not that it shows, lol. But I'm not monetized and make nothing. I work 50+ hours a week on the roads, and I will always make videos wheather I make money or not. This year I'm planning a van build, then, and / or travel the world. Long time follower. One more thing. I've noticed on few van conversions. They've left rear doors like yours with the centre join not covered. Isn't it possible to fix say 3" puce of carpeted ply to door that shuts 1st to cover that gap. You could possibly glue some foam onto it as well. Easily compressable type.

Love the video’s will, In terms of a potential van upgrade, why don’t you look at the Mercedes sprinter XLWB, they are very roomy and you can get them with the double axle in the rear ! In terms of a dog, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hair on the floor from our cockapoo! A group hike sounds fun!
