+Hugh Jass I already like it, but I don't have as many other foundations to compare it to as Cassie does so I don't know how impressive it is in relation. Better? 💁🏻
+Thrift Thick (Cassie) I do. I always wear it for late nights and when I know I'll be out and about for a while. I build it to full coverage because I have rosacea and little face demons all the time. Lmao
Haha mine, too! :D. The first foundation that matched me without having to mix it with something else. I'm pale with neutral undertones. I love this stufff
Estee Lauder is my holy grail. Best applied with a damp beauty blender, it's a bit thick. Light coat of translucent powder to set and voila. It can separate on the nose a bit if you're oily. Primer helps!
What primer would you recommend? It ALWAYS separates like crazy on the tip of my nose, and it's not even that oily! It's just really smooth, but it's definitely not oily.
I've used Rimmel's Stay Matter primer underneath, which was when I experienced the separation. I'm worried that the silicone content in the TooFaced Primed and Poreless would make the foundation more 'slippery', which I'm afraid would speed up the process of separation :/
It's SO good! Lol get a sample first if you don't want to splurge but honestly the price of this foundation is really good in comparison to other non drugstore brands!
+Lorena Aleman nope :( unfortunately the brand is not cruelty free. Which is too bad because the foundation looked amazing on Cassie but I can't buy it.
Omg, I get ANGRY at makeup counters. As soon as you walk in they just swarm you and I like to shop alone, if I need help, I'll ask you. Other than that leave me alone. Estée Lauder double wear is a classic staple. Love it!
I feel the same way. A lot of people talking about not getting enough help from the employes but I prefer to be left alone and not be harassed. I usually have to tell them if I need something I'll come find you.
I knew you would love this! It's my holy grail foundation Cassie! I wore this for my junior prom (I'm now a senior), and let me tell you I sweated my ass off the entire day and night; plus the added non-stop dancing. My hair-do consisted of a very thick piece of hair overlapping a corner of my forehead, so as the dancing built up so did the sweat on my forehead that was being covered by my hair. At the end of the night my foundation still had looked like a fresh application, and it was still fully intact on my forehead!! I could not believe it!! HIGHLY recommended this product. Especially if you're oily like me!❤️🙌🙌
This foundation makes your skin look so naturally beautiful! Which it already is... but even more so!! Great review, I always look forward to watching your videos :)
This is literally the best foundation ever. I'm on my 5th bottle. I don't typically like drugstore foundations, but Revlon Colorstay is a pretty good dupe for it if you don't want to spend the $40! ☺
It would be interesting to hear some of your best and/or worst times while shopping for makeup whether it be online or instore. I love watching you talk, you always make it feel like I am sitting there in front of you in person. Could be a fun story time that's included with makeup. (:
d'aww shucks thank you!! I'm not sure I have any good/tell-worthy stories related to makeup or makeup counters.... I'll rack my brain to see if I can remember anything though :D
As someone who used to work in a makeup counter (it was an estee lauder counter too, lol) Yes we do try to sit everyone down, because it's part of our training! The only time we don't do that is if someone is obviously in a rush, OR if you come in knowing exactly what you want. But even sometimes if you know exactly what you want we still might try to sit you down to show you new products and/or techniques because again we had to since it was part of our training and our supervisor would push us to do so. Also part of our daily goal was to sell atleast two items per customer. So If you came to the counter and asked for 2 items, we probably wouldn't sit you down to try more stuff lolol
I've been using this foundation everyday for 2 years now. What I love about it is the fact that it's buildable yet the coverage is always phenomenal yet natural, so if you put an extremely light layer on it still covers well enough yet it looks like your skin but better. I will never part from this foundation.
Cassie your skin is looking so beautiful and clear!! happy that you loved the estee lauder double wear. i am not even oily but it is one of my favorites. just flawless! ps: I always run to watch your videos before all my other subscriptions (and I have many!). and my heart always melts when galileo appears on the screen!
I just love the way you do your reviews, Cassie. They're comprehensive, straightforward, honest, and extremely helpful. I only wish I could find someone with a similar style of review who has extremely dry skin, like me. Thank you for doing all you do!!
Ah you're welcome!! And that's okay, I still love watching your reviews even if its not always completely applicable to my skin-type, and your other reviews for non-foundation type products are still 100% helpful
Listen girl! This is one worth buying. Don't buy the UD All Nighter I did and it looks horrible. I really don't know how/why it's getting such reviews on youtube. Right now I work in a hot sweaty environment and nothing stays on me and matches me like Estee Lauder. I won't wear the All nighter out because it looks so bad so I don't know how long it lasts but yeah sample that one before you buy for sure. I need to take mine back and get my $40 back.
what would you recommend for hot weather? next year I'm going to america and I don't want to wear a proper foundation all day... I was looking at the UD one because it looked practical and light.
I was looking to see how this foundation looks on old acne marks/scars and stumbled on this video. I'm now a new subscriber and looking forward to working my way through your videos. Seriously, you are a gift--I mostly gave up on yt tutorials because it rarely works out when I actually try products, mostly because so many of them are filmed under perfect professional lighting with no close-ups. I always get disappointed when I put on the product and still have visible marks/don't have magic skin that suddenly becomes poreless. You film under realistic lighting and do close ups! You're stunning but also show your skin up close and have many of the same skin concerns as me! I can feasibly imagine putting on the foundation and getting the same results! You're also lovely and funny in your vids! Seriously, thank you.
the dis-a-pore is honestly amazing! worth every penny, and gives a better finish than most of my high end foundations. Not much coverage, of course since it's a BB cream, but enough to even out skin tone and camouflage pores. Holds up the whole day too. hope this helps until Cassie will review it :)
So glad you liked it!! It's my favorite foundation and to hear my favorite RU-vidr like it as well makes me happy!! I've worn this in humid hot sweating weather for a wedding the only thing that was looked off was my sweat but I wasn't greasy at all!! I've loved this foundation ever since I got a sample and it's holy grail for me. Glad to see you liked it and it looked great on you!!
I adore this foundation, mine is sadly too dark for me but I LOVE how it looks and it lasts really long. It even covers up my stubble and I'm a guy so like thats really hard to find in a foundation :D
+reallyrosey true I don't mind it too much though i just mix some of my favorite concealer into it to lighten so its no biggie plus my bottles almost empty (the HORROR) so I'll just pick up a lighter one next time x
+Ravenveinz I use the white foundation by makeup atelier as a mixer with this and it doesn't affect performance at all :) maybe because it's a waterproof one, kinda pricey though
ive come to the conclusion that finding THE foundation thats right is a long process for all us ladies...its good of you to road test them for us and give us honest opinions thanx cassie x
I got married as of a year ago yesterday and I wore this foundation! I did my own makeup and this foundation was AMAZING. We took our pictures outside in the August heat and I was sweating, stressing out, and so on and this foundation held up. Looking back at pictures this foundation looked flawless and perfected. You were right on saying this is a "wedding foundation" I would recommend it to every bride, thanks for this review I love you so much you're amazing!!❤️😍 all of the love, hugs, and kisses your way
Thrift Thick (cassie) why don't you give blue marble setting spray a review too to see if it really makes make up to stay put. I know it's a favourite of professional make up artists.
I use it and it's my holy grail. It's summer and I have super oily skin. But I put on my matte foundation of the day (Loreal infallible, make up forever, and Kat Von D) bake with powder while I do my eyes and eyebrows, and dust it off. Seal it with blue marble (blue is water base, green has alcohol in it and it slightly stings my eyes). It stays all day in Alabama hot, humidity, rainy weather.
+Olivia Lovelace thanks for that info on blue marble. Hard to get hold of here in the UK as only place I know is in London. Desperate to get my hands on it though and would love to see how it does on Cassie's skin. Xx
Olivia....1) Yaaaassss on the Blue Marble! 2) I agree, I like Blue more than Green, due to the alcohol and 3) Girl, I live in Smiths Station, AL, where are you? :)
me too. and for people with anxiety or who get quite overstimulated by this type of interaction it can be awful. sometimes I have to go home and lie down for a bit after spending too much time in "pushy" stores
I've been on both sides. I'm definitely a "don't talk to me I'm fine on my own i'll ask for you if i need you thanks" kinda person (I get social exhaustion) but I've worked in a store which requires employees to be very "pushy" and engaging even when the customer has indirectly given the "I'm ok myself" signal. It sucks. But don't let it ruin the experience. Buy stuff! A lot of the time the employees are just doing their job (even if it does lead to an opposite effect).
They are bored, but actually they HAVE TO do all these things, and to put everything on you, or else they get in trouble....believe me, I've worked for Estée Lauder
that's exactly what I was going to say! Unlike Sephora, Macy's really likes the associates to apply cosmetics to the customers and have good customer service!
I love how you don't actually buy the bottles. You don't have to spend a fortune to do a review and get videos out! Still working up the courage to post my first video! Recorded it about a year ago.. LOL
Cassie, I'm an EL devotee, the DW range is my favourite. I like the DW light but have worn the original forever. It smells like paint and stains fabrics though. I wore it 7 days a week and a bottle lasts for months. So glad you liked it! Thanks again, lovely lady!
This is my current foundation, and its very full coverage on me. I'm also in cool bone xD but call me crazy, using this for a month has made my skin look and feel so much better! Maybe it's because of its oil control? am I crazy? it's almost completely taken my acne away!
I absolutely love your videos! Why? Because they are real. I watch other channels, but the lighting never shows true product. You zoom in with daylight which is very helpful! Ive been searching for highend foundation and I think Im gonna give this a go! Thanks 😘
So glad you tried this!! I actually like it applied with a beauty blender even better than with a brush! Try it that way even if it's off camera...to see if you like it that way better. :)
You should test the "Dermacol Make-up Cover" - Waterproof Hypoallergenic For All Skin Types. Found on Amazon. It's AMAZING coverage and very cheap! I know you like more natural coverages but I'm sure a ton of people would love to see you test this foundation.
taylor I think her skin is too oily for it. My skin is VERY similar to hers and that stuff slides off my face in 2 hours. Ugh. The coverage is great, but it's really not for oily skin :/
One of my favorite memories of makeup was my mom buying me Estée Lauder foundation 22 years ago after a bad car wreck. I loved it, but strayed away for a long time. Probably because of the price. Anyways, i went and bought the new one and it SMELLS the same! I love it so much! Definitely nostalgic! Works just as good as I remember too. Thank you for this amazing video and review!! Love watching you!
I know you have oily skin (as do I) so I tend to watch your trials at foundation. And I must say that I am totally convinced! I have purchased it after watching you, and I am most grateful I did! thank you.
This has been my holy grail for years now!! I was hesitant to buy it at first bc ppl claimed that it made them look too "cake-y" but really, you just need to work in thin layers and go from there. ^_^ p.s. I'm not really a fan of the scent :/
KnowledgeNerd The closest I can compare it to is the smell of paint. But, even that's not exactly right. It's hard to describe. There's no scent once you put it on your face but it'll be there every time you smell the bottle.
Color looks really good on you! I'm in the color dawn now because I'm tan but in fall and winter I'll be in cool bone too. I'm excited it's going to be light enough for me. I just got this yesterday and tried it right away and was blown away!!! No cake or settling at all and I did a few layers just to test it out. I have dry skin around my nose, mouth, and between my brows and many fuller coverage foundations tend cake and settle but nothing with this! Granted I had to moisturize and prime the crap out of my skin, but that is my everyday routine anyway, but still no caking or settling!!! With born this way I caked up all over and it settled even with moisturizer and primer so double wear is definitely superior!!! I'm so happy I tried it!!!!
Britney, I had the exact same experience with this foundation. Made me super sad because I love the coverage and the lasting power on my oily skin. I now really enjoy the Boot No. 7 Beautifully Matte foundation.
I am so so excited that you made this video!! I literally just ordered this stuff yesterday and now I am impatiently waiting for it to arrive so I can try it! yay!!
Cassie, I trust you more than 95% of RU-vidrs and I love you so so so very much but, sometimes your foundation application makes my skin crawl. I'm not perfect in any way, not even close, so please no one yell at me?
My all time favorite foundation. When I really get made up for a special occasion or night out, this is my ride or die. Thank you for doing this video.
I debated trying this foundation but I found out that the Lancome Teint Idole foundation came out with a new lightest shade, the 100 ivorie N oxidized on me but the 90 ivorie N is a perfect color match, doesn't oxidize, and looks beautiful *-* I have pretty high standards for foundation and I finally found myself a holy grail. It's the perfect natural looking foundation for me, my skin looks airbrushed when using small amounts with my beautiful blender. Also that lip color looks so good on you! 💜💜
Probably cuz it's usually night time when she's in the bathroom and she doesn't want to talk super loud, I'm assuming she lives in an apartment building. Or maybe it echoes...
Thanks Cassie! I just purchased EsteeLauder DoubleWear Foundation, and had second thoughts after ordering. Hope it works as well on me as it did on you! love you, your honesty, all so real videos.
i hate that she rubs foundation in rather than bouncing/patting it in. thats how you get the best coverage with DW, and any foundation for that matter. and BLEND IT ONTO YOUR JAWLINE WOMAN FFS
Dude I am so baffled by how she doesn't know how to apply foundation at all. There are a million foundation tutorials she can watch to learn how to do it. Thank christ that the sales associate matched her to something cool toned. Part of the reason why she hates every foundation she tries is because she's convinced she's warm toned. When you get the wrong undertone like that it actually makes the foundation texture look just awful.
I personally think I apply foundation just fine; and I'm not convinced I have a warm undertone, I actually have a fairly neutral undertone and always try to get foundations in that color category (it's not always possible though with certain product lines) 😃
did it ever occur to you that I wasn't going for "the best coverage"? I apply my foundation the way I do because that's what works for me; just because it's a different method than yours doesn't mean that it's wrong. Oh and by the way, if you're trying to convince someone to change, yelling at them/using all caps and using implied cursing (the second "f" in "ffs") isn't the best way to go about it :)
I agree with you Cassie. Your foundation looks great after you apply it and I don't know why people are so concerned about what method you use. Everyone has a different way of doing things. And I'm pretty neutral with myself with my undertone when it comes to foundation too but some brands don't have a great selection so I understand the struggle. So if yall have a problem with Cassie, then simply don't watch her. She has plenty of people that love her for the way she is and does things. Keep doing your thing girl!
Just my opinion so don't hate. I don't like the "lets test" song. It reminds me of a commercial jingle and rubs me the wrong way. I have to skip it every time.
btw, do they make this for normal to dry skin? because I've never been compelled to step outside of drugstore before, but omg I want this, and I'm only minutes into the video.
+Christy Hutchinson I have dry patches and it works great on me as long as I have a good moisturiser on. if I'm having an extra dry day sometimes I add a drop of argan oil.
Cassie, your skin looks sooooo good! Without and with the foundation! I have to try this foundation out now and I'm so glad you zoom in. Really tired of everyone being so far from the camera I cant see how it sets.
I have tried so so many foundations and nothing even comes close to double wear. they also do the full coverage double wear (in the blue tube) which i mix with the standard DW to make a concealer on particularly spotty days and it's amazing. I recently visited the USA and had a make up haul, most of it recommended from Cassie's reviews and i have been so impressed with all of it! My shopping list included: covergirl clean matte bb cream (incredible) Tarte palletes: tartlette in bloom (smells amazing and is the most perfect consistency) and graveyard girl swamp queen (gator wings tho...) Covergirl supersizer waterproof mascara (omg a literal must have for anyone who wants long, full, non-clumpy lashes!) Also trying out covergirl aqua smooth foundation (beautiful!) and a few nyx items. Thank you so much Cassie for your reviews i have found so many little gems for my makeup bag. xx
I just realized I've seen so many of your videos but haven't subscribed!! I love your videos, they're so organized and planned and I can appreciate that very much lol.
I hope this isn't weird to say but your skin has improved/gotten so much more glowy and clear in these last months!! I'm happy for you!! Have you ever considered trying LUSH products?? Some of their stuff like their masks have REALLy helped me.
SOMEDAY I'll pony up the money to buy this! My life right now is so dull...I work at our library....I just can't justify the cost right now. But I'm starting a NEW life....hopefully a fuller life, and maybe then. You have the loveliest features!!! My son has green eyes - not my poop-brown eyes - and they are, like yours, soooo beautiful!
The MAC pump also fits the NARS Luminous foundation as well, if anyone needs a pump for that. Really the NARS is 47.00 a bottle and while I love it, I have a hard time justifying paying that much for a foundation that comes as an open bottle!
I love Estée Lauder double wear , I also have very oily skin and I've tried so many different foundations but this is the best I've ever tried . It stays put all day and keeps my oils at bay . I've been waiting for so long for u cassie to try it and I'm so glad u have now xx
