"Is there an enemy of flavor? Is there a villain who hates all flavor?" "Guy Fieri vs LaCroix: The Battle for Flavortown" is the summer blockbuster I want to see.
shared this with my mother, who is an incredibly enthusiastic lacroix enjoyer. her response: "funny! He's a riot. I want to have him over for dinner. and bubbly water!"
I've never tried lacroix, but this reminded me of one of my favorite tumblr posts: "La Croix taste like if you were drinking carbonated water and someone screamed out loud the name of a specific fruit in the other room"
I saw this video and KNEW I once read this hilarious post somewhere about Lacroix. And then you saved the day. I laughed again. Very loudly. Thank you.
Hibiscus is used for a tea that many Latin American cultures drink!! I’ve usually called it Jamaica but it may have other names! Doesn’t excuse how the la croix tastes but it’s definitely a drink flavor
my relationship with lacroix is thinking "it can't be THAt bad.." and getting one, drinking it, hating it, deciding to never buy one again, and that repeating indefinitely
"I should cut back on soda, but I don't want to just drink water. Why don't I try La Croix and get a little bit of flavor and carbonation? That's right, La Croix is terrible! I'm just going to go back to Sprite." Me every six months.
Exactly. “I don’t want anything TOO sugary/sweet. I’ll just drink a La Croix... damn, this ain’t it chief. Let me instantly forget this happened and then repeat this cycle forever.”
This, in a way completely unique to this series, has truly insane energy. The calm, happy music in the background is comically unfitting. A true masterpiece.
I think that's the thing with la croix or other sparkling water... the more you drink it, the more you can actually taste the flavors, and then the more you like it... so it's similar to Stockholm syndrome lol
But it’s also just water lol... so it’s not terrible for your health 😅. I just don’t understand how so many people are just treating it like trash lol. I need to get off this comment section, I’m physically hurting rn 😂
@@EnderMon I think people are harping on it because of the price vs just normal water. But I do like it, not at first... but it grew on me, and yeah it's healthier than soda. I prefer Bubly to La Croix tho...
i'd agree, sparkling water slowly yet methodically murdered my desire for soda. My workplace had this stuff free though so it wasn't a big deal until the pandemic hit
My friend tried the Berry flavor once and said: “It’s tastes like you had a bowl of fruit punch, then you let it sit out for decades and fully evaporate, then you filled the empty bowl with sparkling water, and filtered that water”
I bet you that the local cashiers who recognize him are probably ecstatic when they see a pattern in what he buys that day. They get a small preview in his “let’s try” series
This was hilarious. In all seriousness I used to dislike La Croix, but I've since found which flavors I can enjoy and now it actually motivates me to drink more water instead of unhealthy alternatives.
Another thing to note is that if you are used to big flavors in things you consume, you are not going to be a fan of La Croix and other similar infused sparkling waters. As your body adjusts to less flavor and sugar, you definitely will start to somewhat enjoy these kinds of drinks. I genuinely did not like these drinks when I was addicted to soda, but I appreciate them much more now that I cut out lots of sugar from my diet (still not worth all the hype people constantly give it though).
@@kalsyphr5039 Totally agree! I grew up drinking an unhealthy amount of soda, and for a long time I had a really hard time drinking enough regular water. Once I was old enough to work, buying La Croix was a life saver. I think people who never struggled with soda will have a harder time understanding what a massive difference there is between La Croix and tap water when you're dependent on soda. The memes are funny, but Seltzer water is a genuinely useful product for kicking unhealthy drinking habits.
@@kalsyphr5039 I understand this in theory but to me it doesn't make any sense because la croix has so much less flavor than literally any food item you can eat. You can't convince me that they don't deliberately muddle flavor as much as possible when making la croix
I lost my ability to taste sugar, maybe permanently (it's been about 7 months), from coronavirus, so I've come to really enjoy Lacroix since it almost tricks my brain into thinking I'm tasting something sweet. I used to hate this stuff before, but I guess once you forget what it's like to be able to enjoy sweet things, flavored sparkling water really grows on you.
Its still better than some of the cheap off brand ones I've bought...some literally taste like they take the grape flavored medicine and carbonate it. fucking awful.
LaCroix is 10x worse when it's not cold. Warm sparkling water in general is one of the worst things out there. As an aside, Hibiscus flowers have been used in teas or specialty drinks for ages (e.g. Jamaica).
@HoboGardenerBen personally I don't like alcohol, juice is ok, but you can make it fizzy with one of those soda streams and save moeny if you want (dilute it a little first) Man peach juice is delicious
@HoboGardenerBen good for you for stopping drinking! Personally I don't even like the taste so I'm not going to start drinking for that among other reasons
We have no future Heaven wasn't made for me We burn ourselves to Hell As fast as it can be I wish that I could be a King Then I'd know that I am not alone Maggots put on shirts Sell each others shit Sometimes I feel so worthless Sometimes I feel discarded I wish that I was good enough Then I'd know that I am not alone Death is policeman Death is the priest Death is the stereo Death is a T.V Death is the tarot Death is an angel Death is our God Killing us all She puts the seeds in me Plant this dying tree She's a burning string And I'm just the ashes She puts the seeds in me Plant this dying tree She's a burning string And I'm just the ashes She puts the seeds in me Plant this dying tree She's a burning string
For a second I thought this was SungWon's second channel. Where he likes to get a little silly, a little wacky, a little goofy, and also drink LaCroix.
I turned around on sparkling water when I made it a point to start drinking more water and started thinking of it as "special water" instead of "worse soda"
Yeah, same. I had quit soda for about a decade, but when with my ex-BF, I started drinking diet soda again because he would drink it a lot. Was able to get back off of it thanks to La Croix. I honestly love it now, though. They are rather sweet tasting to me now instead of bitter, while soda just tastes like sweet tar with chemicals.
As someone who really likes these kinds of drinks, this was still so hilarious. I can't really explain what I like so much about them, but they're just delicate and refreshing to drink. Also you definitely need to drink a couple and recalibrate your tongue before you start even remotely liking it 😂 My favorite flavor is Peach-Pear. Not sure you'd ever go back and try it, but I think it's the best.
@@zethstar3475 I like some seltzer water since you can drink something carbonated with a bit of flavor without it being completely full of sugar like all other soda or carbonated drinks. Sometimes I want to drink something that’s not water but I don’t want to feel the guilt of knowing what it’s doing to my teeth and body, so seltzer water can help you hit the middle ground. la croix really doesn’t have much flavor, but it’s really not supposed to be shoving flavor in your face, it’s mostly just supposed to be seltzer water with a little flavor on the back end so you get a hint of something you like while not having it be full on sweet syrupy soda like other carbonated drinks end up being, and without it being chock full of sugar, sugar’s the cheat to making something sweet and tasty. I’m sure if you’ve ever done baking you’d realize its power, and I’m sure if you know anything about health you’d also realize its danger, and if you know anything about nutritional charts and facts you’d know how much sugar goes into tons of stuff. Waaaaaayy too much, that is. Considering the other things ProZD eats, drinks, and enjoys for these videos I don’t really expect him to enjoy La Croix, cause I don’t really think you’re supposed to full on enjoy it, but it’s the perfect alternative when you don’t wanna go full on soda
@@zethstar3475 personally I like having the flavor without sugar. Like orange or tangerine La Croix is kind of like drinking orange soda, but without the sugar sweetness. It definitely takes getting used to, but it's not bad.
Oh so its kinda like how some teas arent good alone but compliment a good meal or something Cuz if i wanted something healhy id get 100% natural juice or milk
@@zethstar3475 sort of, if you like seltzer water you don't need something else to compliment it, you're just fine with the light flavor because you weren't drinking it for the flavor in the first place, it's just a nice bonus. it's moreso that you're drinking something not terrible for you, not because seltzer water is particularly good for you, besides the fact that it's water so you're being hydrated compared to soda dehydrating you. natural juice is good, but a lot of fruits naturally have sugar in them as well, so that makes it difficult, milk is a good choice, too though of course, this is why i drink it, i'm sure others might drink it because they enjoy light flavor or for other reasons
In case anyone cares about the worst beverage ever: A Tier: literally nothing B Tier: Limoncello, Key Lime, Coconut C Tier: Hibiscus, Pamplemousse, Watermelon, Lemon, Tangerine, Passion Fruit D Tier: Orange, Lime, RazzCranberry, Berry F Tier: Pure
I did the sparkling water thing a few years back when I was fasting just to have a break from plain water, and yeah, the citrus ones (and coconut) were really the only "acceptable" flavors. I think that's mainly because your tastebuds aren't really expecting much sweetness with those anyway, so your brain is like, "yeah, okay, cool, this is almost a flavor."
Some ideas: Every kind of reeses Every kind of kit kit (if you can get the rare ones) Every kind of McDonald's items Every kind of Mountain Dew Every kind of toaster strudel Every kind of coke, even the nasty ass fruit ones Every kind of Ben and Jerry's ice cream
Okay so I've never had LaCriox but I drink Perrier. And the flavoured Perrier too. I like the bubbles and to me they actually taste like what they're supposed to, but not super strongly and no sweetness. I can't drink much soda because it's way too sweet for me, but I like the fizziness
Im glad he rated limon cello high as it's my favorite la croix. I personally prefer the polar brand as their flavors are some of the best. The limon cello will always be one of my favorites though. I get it bubbly water isn't for everyone but i enjoy it and it got me off of high sugar sodas.
I have two absolutely monstrous suggestions for this series 1. A fruits episode like Moist Critikal did 2. Great Value Soda. They have so many flavors that other companies don't even make soda of.
Or, along the lines of the soda one, trying off brand versions of popular sodas I already know he could do a whole episode on off brand Dr. Pepper alone lmao I know of at least ten different off brands of it
Surprised coconut topped the list. Everytime I've heard someone describe how it tastes, the first thing they say is "sunscreen, but in a good way, somehow"
As an unironic lover a La Croix, this video was great. Can confirm: Coconut and key Lime are the best flavors of "normal" La Croix. I also reccomend the Caffea Exotica flavor if you like coffee, it tastes like a chocolatey dark coffee. The Cerise Limón is really good too, it's a Cherry LImeAde flavor. And I get the grapefruit one on occasion too, but you can tellt he flavor is intended to capture the bitter side of the grapefruit.
As someone who does drink it, it helps as a soda substitute. Like, its for weight loss honestly, or to make your actual drink taste funny when you're bored.
