I never had Carls Jr until i worked there as my first job. They have some of the best seasonal burgers. They had a philly cheese steak burger and a pulled pork burger that i want them to bring back
Their burgers are solid. But they are the most overpriced major-chain fast food burger joint. No contest. Even when considering inflation. They've been that way for years. I just cant justify their prices. Especially with In-N-Out accross the street. Which is a cheaper double patty burger combo than Carl's for better quality!
I remember how broken you looked on stream when you realized the next logical place for you to review was Carl's jr, haha. But I've always loved them and glad to see this was a pleasant experience for you and that you've turned around on them!
We have exactly one (1) Hardee's here in Pittsburgh. I remember once they were advertising a burger with an entire hot dog cut lengthwise on top of the patty. Always been disappointed in myself that I didn't bear witness to that atrocity first hand
I worked at Hardees years ago, but the chicken tenders and chicken sandwich (not charbroiled) are breaded in store rather than being something they put in the oil. I think it helps the quality a lot.

The Sourdough bun is always slightly soggy no matter what. Been that way for decades. A thin veneer of toasted crispness covering slightly soggy, slightly buttery bread.
My favorite character in these videos is the Grocery List. Love seeing how it starts and how it ends. So much character development. Thanks for including it ProZD

Nice. Had Carl's Jr. When I moved out to Cali a few years ago, had only had Hardee's a few times at rest stops on road trips in the past. Definitely impressed overall by their quality. Fries are legit top tier, their burgers are great, and I do love the bacon and Swiss chicken sandwich. They are like fast food+ overall.
While I only had Hardee’s before, and I haven’t tried a lot of their menus since there isn’t one near me with the exception of one where my Grandpa lives at. I gotta say that I really love their Famous Star burger. It’s so satisfying that I’d say that it’s my second favorite restaurant burger next to Red Robin’s cheeseburger.
I've loved Carl's Jr. for a very long time. Western Bacon Cheeseburger is their king item for me. I wish they'd bring back their legendary crinkle fries. Due to when the Western Bacon was added, and when the crinkle cut was removed, there was only a short period when you could eat both the Western Bacon and the crinkle fries together. That truly was a special time.
Never had Carl's Jr's poppers, but after trying the ones at Getgo gas stations (regional for PA, OH, IN and WV), I became a fan of the chopped jalapeno in cheese goop over the halved jalapeno with cheese goop inside because 90% of the time you need to eat the halved variety in one bite cuz I can't always bite through the skin of the pepper. It's just a nicer eating experience cuz half the time with the halved ones, you end up with all of the pepper in one bite and a tiny blop of cheese in breading for the second half.
Carl’s Jr. is never really talked about, but for me it’s actually at/just below the tier of McDonald’s, tbh. It’s way better than In n Out, which is way more popular for some reason. Better than Burger King, Wendy’s, Jack in the Box, etc.
This video has made me realize how many more options Carls Jr has compared to its east half of the US brother, Hardee's. I'm kinda jealous as someone on the Hardee's side of the divide, but mostly I need to see Sungwon compare the two.
Glad to see you enjoying Carl's JR. When I lived in Arizona it was my Big Sadge go-to place. Very greasy and tasty for sad days. Honestly one of my top tier fast food places. Wish they had them around where I live now. Especially after watching this video xD

I'm glad you did this because the nearest Hardee's is an hour and eight minutes away from me, so I've never had them, but I'm still close enough to see advertisements all over the TV. I've always wondered what their food was actually like.
The moment you pulled out the double western I was like, "awww yeaaa that's my order, a combo along with the Jalapeno poppers." If i'm trying to save a bit of money I get the Big carl with jalapeno poppers. If I have extra money and want to get something to heat up later on, I'll get a chicken bacon ranch. Yea I agree with the chicken sandwiches they either put way too much on it, or a little tiny dot on it. Usually get side orders of ranch dressing.
I watched this while hungry which was a terrible idea. The Western Bacon burgers are definitely the main draw for me to head to Carl's Jr. My opinion on the Famous Star is that I'd like it a lot more if the veggies were sliced just a bit thinner -- and I'm someone who LOVES onion slices.
Your reaction to their fries is exactly my reaction when I have them. Surprisingly good. I never think much of them and then suddenly the whole bag is gone.
I recently got the jalapeno poppers with a coupon, they were really good but weird compared to normal poppers. They have nacho cheese sauce basically, instead of a cream cheese kinda filling. Its off putting if you arent expecting it, but still really good in a greasy fast food kind of way.

Carls Jr/Hardee's can be REALLY good, or REALLY bad, depending on the location. my location back when i was just a teen, it was AWESOME! the Bacon was Crispy, the Burgers were Seared well and the Fries were Choice. i used to eat their "Monster Burger" that they renamed to Monster Thickburger for some reason.
If you get the wester bacon, ask for them to throw an extra onion ring on your burger. Makes a massive difference. Also get the western with swiss. Makes a good mix up
