Halal Guys, that is a place I have not thought about in years. I used to eat it when I went up to Seattle, and I recall really enjoying the rice and meat they served. No idea why I forgot about it.

Funny story: one time just last year in April 2023, me and my 8th grade crop went to New York, and a few blocks away from the 9/11 Twin Towers Memorial I saw one of these “Halal” Food Stands in a random plaza. A neon sign said “Halal Food! Great value!” but the menu said otherwise. The menu included Pork for one of these meals similar to the one Gully ate for the video. As far as I know that stand’s probably closed. Probably because the owner literally offended an entire damn culture 🤣

I miss being able to eat it. I used to live near New York. Halal guys and Adela are so good!

As a Hispanic from New York, I used to eat this with my family, and it was delicious, the best thing i’ve eaten is rice, spicy chicken, and salad with dressing, go check it out.

Some places get so much hype. It’s like nyc pizza. Odds are there’s at least one place in your neighborhood that’s nearly as good. May not be the internets top rated but delicious, close by, no lines, and that community connection are more important to me

Bhai Saab I always tell people trying it we get it because of the differences between halal guys Mixed grill. Spicy rice French fries Add white, green, and a dash of bbq sauce Halal guys has gone down in quality a lot. Honestly the best it was, was back in the 2000s. By 2009 there was a noticeable drop in quality and we started finding other places We found adels before the lines got huge. We used to call it the spicy rice place. But a big line in NYC is a sign of good food, and since weed is legal you can smoke a joint while waiting

I like the bangladeshi food trucks that sell similar halal food … those are more akin to desi tastes

I remember waiting in line for an hour and 35 minutes in the freezing cold lol. The food was a solid 7 or 8, but the wait in line DEFINITELY wasn't worth it lol. Brings it down to a 4.5 or 5

As a native New Yorker we know this is hype. This these trucks are in tourist areas aka rock centr, world trade etc. The area has pricey food so you think you're getting a bargin by comparison.
