It’s been what 6 or 7 years he’s been jacking with this car? It might get done in another 6 or 7 more years. He starts with an almost brand new car and when he gets done with it it’s a classic. That’s how come everything is so old, nothing newer models. It started as a new car, but the time it takes him to complete it the car has 20 to 30 years on it. I remember when he started this car, he told Jolene when he got done with it he would ask her to get married or they would get married when it was done. Something to that effect, maybe that’s why it’s taken so long and take even longer to complete. Poor Jolene got tired of waiting for a Bugatti she said screw it, I will just go buy me a car and bought the Corvette. The girl is getting tired of waiting Chad, you better hurry up and make an honest woman out of her or somebody will swoop in and steal a good woman right away from you and marry her. You better put a ring on her and claim that for yourself or someone else will.
Jolene get Chad to pull his lift arms off and wire brush and use lithium grease(Low Temp) grease so he doesn't have to struggle. Then add oil to the hydraulic pump and run it to the top and down a couple times.
It's awesome to see the body married with the chassis, great job and congratulations to Jolene to her great job as a producer and seeing her dream coming thru. Cheers, Ignacio
I’m new to this channel…(I found it while looking on RU-vid to learn how to do light body work as I’m restoring “to functional” a 1942 tractor…) I have to say that I am a “follower” now! What a great Team! Thanks to Chad (and the excellent support of Lady Jolene on the camera) I have become much more familiar with sheet metal work, the use of body fillers and I have become better at using my MIG…His experience and expertise makes everything look easy, thanks to the abundance of his explanations compounded with the superior camera work. I’m ok on the mechanical side but body work had always intimidated me until now…I’ve followed thru the 57 Plymouth (up to-date) and also watched the previous attempt to fit this “Bugatti” body over the chassis…Wow, I’m impressed! Those were very close measurements 😅 I can’t wait to see the final results (even though some commenters seem to insinuate that “Chad never finishes anything” I have a feeling that this one will get done because this one is special: it’s not for him, it’s for his Lady 👍Thank you again Chad, Jolene, Doug, Nathan and Fina!
Fantastic if Jolene's Bugatti could win over an original Bugatti in that case. Those who own the original just happened to be rich enough to pay for one. Not like the Chad/Jolene couple who actually built one!
A major step accomplished. I've had the pleasure watching you guys build this machine from just passed the start till now. Wow I'm impressed. You do believe that if you put your mind to it, you can do it.
I actually caught myself chewing my fingernails. It looks 100% badass! When y'all dropped it to the ground I cheered out loud and freaked out my cat!lol! Great job,I'm so happy to see that beautiful machine coming together.
Hi Chad, Jolene, Nathan, & Fina, excellent work team Hiltz! Chad you should be very proud of the Bugatti build it is a beautiful replica built from your head. I know everyone is excited to see it back in progress and we cannot wait to see the completion of Jolene's car. Nathan thank you for being involved in moving the Bugatti foward, you are exactly the team member Chad needed to move forward with the project. Jolene you must be estatic to finally have the body on the chassis with the engine and transmission in it you have waited for so long. Even Chad looked as excited as I ever remember seeing him. There is alot of work left to do on it but, the hardest part is done! I cannot wait to see the body painted and I imagine that you feel the same way.
Woooh you guys must be beside yourselves... been a long time coming. Hey Chad the tight fit just goes to show how precise you measurement were....congratulations on a beautiful build for your beautiful lady...your fans can hardly wait to see the queen driving diwn the road in her gorgeous chariot.
Remember Jolene makes all the decisions with bad Chad. People act like Jolene is waiting and waiting for this project to get done. That is not the case. She does what’s best for the channel to be profitable !!
I'm excited to see the car finished and it's not even my car so nodoubt jolene is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with her car build. Once completed will we be seeing the wedding following soon 🤔. As always guy's 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Wow Chad I'm really impressed. I have been watching since the start. Congratulations on your successes, and all the gradual adjustment that have brought you to this commitment to Excellence. Rock on.
Jolene your camera work is awesome, the new mics are prooving to be very good...and your Bugatti is looking awesome. The additional help of Nate and Doug around the shop is definitely prooving to be a great deal. Those guys are an excellant additon to Chad and your channel
Chad & Jolene great to see the chassis & body come together, it's so much nicer car sitting outside gives it a perspective with the eye of fitting its environment. Chad your lucky to have Nath working with you as he's a finisher. & you're a doer need both to get the job done well done can't wait to see it finished
I been watching for about 12 months every morning at breakfast time. We actually get the video the next day after filming. I have been restoring a Austin Healey Sprite Mk3 race car over the last 3 years and have learnt some of Chads little tricks when he welds which has been helpful. Jolene, you do fantastic filming but I would like to hear more of your comments that you tell Chad when he seems to get in a bit of a pickle. Love the video’s Keith from Australia
Looking fantastic there Chad. A suggestion- Place some masking tape on the body at the point where you set up the hoist so you can always set the body in the right spot and then same on the chassis and use a plumb bob to line up each time you go to reset the two together.
Hi Chad and Jolene. WOW .. what a relief to lower the body onto the chassis. It's been an epic journey so far and I'm looking forward to the rest of the project. Regards from Down-Under (Australia). 🙂
That's real life right there...dont see that on TV....this was a great watch...Bugatti looks really good 👍 😊...I bet jolene is very happy that it's coming closer...cya tomorrow Chad and Jolene and Nathan and fina
Hey Chad, How's it goin there Bye? The Bugatti is looking good. Usually you will see a Bug getting rehabbed over in Europe somewheres on a fancy British TV Show, but to see one getting rebuilt in Eastern Cape Breton is surely unique. I used to live in Sydney Mines 15 years ago when i moved there to rebuild two apartment buildings and not long after that i saw your shows on Cable TV and got hooked. Keep up the good work son, you have got the knack for being "Different". God Bless you and Jolene and the crew.
Have to agree, I think wheel dollies would have made lining up the body to the frame a little easier.... Jolene you must be excited to see this long awaited project get a little closer to completion!!!! It's where I first started watching....
Jolene and Chad, I,ve been here for 6+ yrs. "Big Fan" waiting for this car to be finnished@!! I hope the vette gets winterized properly if is stuck in a container instead of the nice heated new barn(which looks like it,s getting full) for winter.. Cheers, Bernie
Maybe you should have the hoist over the top on slings to spots on the body where there is strength. Even if you needed to make the spots. Just a thought
I've been looking at the right front fender in comparison to the left front fender for over a year and I'd really like you to put a dial angle guage on the top fender flange and see what the angle is and then do the same on the left fender. I hope I'm wrong but the right fender looks like its rolled inboard. Its enough that looking at the car from the front head on its really noticeable. I hope I'm wrong, but I think you should check
I'm from Watertown NY I've been watching sense the pickup truck out of a 35 Plymouth and went back and benged watched as far back on RU-vid as I could I went to the Syracuse nationals just to meet the two of you I'm in my early 60s and first started out working in bodyshops until painting started causing health issues to see chad fabricate and turn out the vehicles he does takes it to a whole nother level
Great job Queen Jolene and her car will make a beautiful pair As always bad Chad does great work with Nathan Queen Jolene on the camera brings it all together in perfect harmony Have a great long weekend
I think that this car is with out a doubt, the new jewel of Canadians car fabrication. It's a proud day for Chad, and I can't imagine for Jolene. One small step for Chad Hiltz, one giant step for Jolene MacIntyre. Amazing accomplishment Sr. Chad. Bravo!
Coming together! Congratulations! Personally, I would like to see it lower. So, per your observation, you will need to redo the exhaust. But after all of what you've done already, that shouldn't be too much of a big deal. Really, it looking really good! :-)
Been waiting years for this moment to see the body on the chassis. Have to say - this is the BADDEST A$$ car I have ever seen - completed or not, Way to go Hiltz Team! The Bugatti Atlantic style is one of the worlds most beautiful and valuable cars - Now it is also one of the Worlds Coolest.
I cant wait to see you drive down the lane in this car jolene getting so close .one can only imagine your butterflies for the day nearing .cheers as always guys
Chad I’m thinking that if you had a narrow centerline painted on the slab and a centerline mark on the front and rear of the chassis you could use a plumb bob to align the two and a center line mark on the body to align it to the chassis also from the line on the slab for this kind of operation. You’d also want to pretty much center the body on the lift. Easy. Well done.
G’day Chad and greetings from Tasmania Australia I would just like to say that you have done a absolutely beautiful job on that car the lines on it are perfect this really shows the talent that you have. Anyway have enjoyed watching the build take care regards John
Wow that was exciting when you have so much time and effort tied up in such a project you don't want to have to redo anything better to take your time! I would make some reference points so when you have to take it off and on it will be easier and less chance of causing any damage and less time to put on and off great job by all three of you because you need many eyes with such a tight fit
Such a beautiful car! ANd you made it yourself! This must be a real milestone for you. I'll be very honest with you...I've compared your car with other original old Bugatti coupes on youtube and - taken as a whole - I much prefer the look of your car compared to those originals. It's proportions are so much more pleasing. It really does seem to be your masterpiece. Best wishes to you.
This is my favorite build of yours as well as the other car Vloggers on RU-vid. The Bug is looking smooth and stylish like it's owner Queen Jolene. Its going to be a beautiful work of art like the original 1938 Bugatti Atlantic.
There has to be one directing and the other just helping by listening to directions. It's a lot of going back and forth. In my opinion. Beautiful job by the way on the chassis. Amazing work on the body.
I'm not an expert, but when I drove fork lifts if the hydrolic fluid was low the forks would'nt move smooth and we would have to bleed the air out. The Buggotti is looking awsome..You guys rock.
Car goes up car goes down ! Let's hope it stays this time ! Sounds of joy and frustration are all been worth it ! Jolene ❤you are so much closer to driving the Bugatti . Thumbs-up 😂❤ it's time!
