Dorbees is genuinely one of those things where you can FEEL it sucking the braincells out of your head as you watch it. Like, I'm 30 minutes in, and I'm laughing. Dorbees got past my defenses and wore me down to the point where I actually started laughing at the stupid references and jokes.
I dunno, maybe I just suffer from terminal online brain rot but this was pretty entertaining, especially considering that the creator was very truthful about how bad his creations where. Like it doesn't feel like a intentional money grab and was instead just two guys creating stuff very inspired by veggie tales and just played around with a media that they never used before. The music also does have some heart to it, even though it is not polished and celebrity singer tier, very newbie singer with so so effort. Is it a show kids should watch? Maybe not. But it'd be amazing for parties when the special brownies or other giggle things are consumed.
I've known about Dorbees for years and this was my first time ever looking into it. I didn't expect to actually laugh at any point so that cut-edit to the newscaster really got me.
Mr. Poe song is so funny to me tbh. It really just feels like someone shit posting on like an old german folk lore or some shit. the by far best line is "loved by every boy and girl...and yak"
Ever since Saber referenced this in the Gaithers Pond videos, I wanted him to review this “masterpiece”. Who else was ecstatic when he finally did a let’s watch?
I noticed that at 10:30, Mary-Jane uses a grappling hook gun to rescue Jack from a trap door, but Jack accidentally pushes it into the pit after climbing out. It looks like a random, pointless thing, but it actually becomes plot-relevant later on, since it means Mary-Jane cannot use that grappling hook to save Jack again when he falls into a hole in the mansion. For a film of this quality, it's interesting that Gaither noticed what would have been a plot hole (if Mary-Jane had a grappling hook, why didn't she use it to rescue Jack from the stairs instead of calling the news?) and included a brief scene specifically to fix it.
Fun Fact! Dig's Duds is actually a containment unit to hold all the anti-drip in the dorbeeverse. It must never be exposed to drip, or else they will simultaneously annihilate each other and create a vacuum, entirely devoid of drip. Just kidding! The whole dorbeeverse is already a drip vacuum.
The characters in dorbees looks like sentient ovaries using a snapchat filter while they're in the middle of a facial reconstruction surgery, while making a kissing face at the same time.
What is the likelihood that the kids will even get these references? If they are as sheltered from "The World" as they are only exposed to Christian media then they can't know what's going on.
I'm dying over the fact that Mr. Poe straight up sounds like a Molang character. The strange vibrato works for Molang because they intentionally only speak gibberish and actually look cute lol

The Gaithers live action VHS media an stage shows are so good the concerts have been a large group effort going on 30 so years one film had a fishing old man being wholesome an a band of punk kids rapping with a ketchup theme
I have seen so much hilarious clean kid humor in other shows/movies that still make me laugh. This is just horrible on every level. It looks horrific too. The movement is so uncanny. If you showed this in a haunted house it would legit scare people.
31:00 when I was a kid I had this VHS! My mom found it in the bargain bin prolly in 2004-2005, and bought it cuz it’s Christian. I was 4-5 years old at the time, and I actually liked this movie 😂😂 I know it sounds dumb, but tbh a lot of CGI animation in 2005 looked like this. Us 2000s kids are built different with our tolerance for janky or gross visuals. As for why I *liked* the movie, not just tolerated it… idk, honestly I was 5 lol. Honestly I think this movie gave me a shitpost-esque style of humor from a young age, cuz I found dorbees funny then, and I find cursed memes funny now. I find this movie funny nowadays, but just cuz I love showing it to my friends. Anytime I befriend someone for long enough and I inevitably find out they have no idea wtf a dorbee even is, I always get mischievous and have to show them. It’s like a car wreck. It’s awful but they can’t look away, they usually end up watching the whole thing. Their reactions make me laugh, much like this video with saber and Caroline’s reactions. So yeah, as a kid in 2005 who just owned this movie, weirdly enough I liked it. And weirdly enough, I still like it, but only to mess with people. 😂😂

I watched the livestream and somehow watching this again is just as bad the second time! For crying out loud, Yugioh GX 4Kids dub voice for Amber Mammoth's Arnold Schwarzenegger impression was better than that thing.
@@303jackson if it was I didn't catch it. Sometimes I miss a voice so it could have been. When he played Greiger (known as Bomber in Japanese) in 5Ds, it was basically Goku with a gravely voice. Sort of like Super's Goku Black but rougher.
Interestingly enough, this is supposedly something for Sunday school kids. Apparently, this is one of the worst animations I’ve ever witnessed and I’m going to say it. For the theme song, it should sound like this. 🎶Dorbees why don’t they go to hell?🎶 The only response I’m gonna get is hell is disturbed by them so Satan doesn’t want them.
its so funny watching this right after your the amazing digital circus stream cause its outdated 90s-2000 3d graphics aestetic is an intentional art direction choice when this...well this is unintentionally outdated 90s-2000 graphics and not in a good way unlike veggie tales for example. its really such a good visual exampe of how much the intention matters in art, even if you have limited resources you can make it look good if you use them right
