I wish someone would have done a documentary of Hair the Musical back then in 1968, I would have loved that. When I was 18 in 1988, my boss gave me a copy of the original Hair Musical and I listen to it all year on my bike, while riding around Portland, OR. Love.

🌞 Even more awesome is that on this very day, at the top of my morning, I heard this song coming from my "idiot box" (the TV). I ran to see whaaaat...my favorite song 🎵 being played and it brought rays of sun smiles...so thanks for sharing with me at the close of my day, definitely the "son" reigns and is shining...what a blessing...🙌🏽

@@vlw3421 On June 22, 2009 a day before my 49th birthday, I saw the Hair Broadway revival with one of my closest friends. At the end of the performance after the cast's curtain calls/bows, the lead male actor Will Swenson invited audience members to join the cast on stage to sing an encore of Let the Sunshine In with the full.cast and onstage band. Even though it had been a bad MS day for me so far , I leapt to my feet and somehow made it to the steps at the side of the stage from my eighth row seat. I asked a stranger to help me and two people picked me up and gently dropped me on the stage- stage right! The music started and I started singing and dancing (well almost dancing) with scores of strangers and cast.But wait it gets better!! After we had been singing for a few minutes, will swenson lead us to the exits.we opened the doors and we followed him out into the street ( Broadway)singing until we finished the song. Then everyone came back inside. I went back onstage with some other audience members and the cast engaged in small talk with everyone for a few more minutes before we all had to go home. My date and I are still good friends but she married someone else. To this day though, she regrets her decision not to join me on stage. I did ask her to do so, but she resisted my earnest pleas. I have cherished the memory of that experience every year since then.

I've always been a fan of The 5th Dimension's version, but I've never actually seen Hair, for all my half a century. What a way to hear the entire performance piece for the first time. Y'all are amazing. I was already having a pretty good day yet it boosted my mood. :-)
