And to be correct, the title Vserossiyskaya imperatritsa (Всероссiйская императрица) translates into English as Allrussian empress. Like all Russian monarchs after Peter I, Catherina II was only tsaritsa (not tsarina) of Kazan’, tsaritsa of Astrachan’, and tsaritsa of Sibir’ (which were former Tatar khanates transformed into tsardoms after Russian conquer), but the older title tsar’ or tsaritsa of Moscow and of All the Rus’ was no longer used after Peter had taken the title of Pater Patriae and Allrussian Emperor in 1721.
