When you are living the life of your dreams, putting out good vibes to the skating community continuously, have put together a more than solid crew, (Monarch), and you're passing the torch to the younger generation all at the same time (Sky, Rayssa and Chloe), and yet you still have more sad haters than most people have actual fans, then you must be doing something right. Keep doing you and crushing it Leticia!
Women might not have the same physical advantage as men, but nothing is preventing them from being as bold as men. Female rock climbers realized this and now are competing side by side with the strongest men climbers in the world. I guess what I’m saying is, if you set mental limitations on yourself then they will become your limitations.
Dude does a kickflip, no one looks at him. Good looking chick does a kickflip, wins the friggin' X-Games. I absolutely love the inclusion but there is zero equality in the level one needs to be to compete and/or win.
@@adsr3870 I've been saying this for the longest time. I'm a woman and I enjoy watching the other women skate in these competitions as they are really upping the game in women's skateboarding but Leticia.. idk man, I just feel like she's just there cause she wears bras and leggings and looks pretty. Never any new, cool tricks. I wouldn't even say she has so much style either compared to other women. Maybe she's just getting older and is scared to commit to more difficult tricks. Idk. But other women are definitely way ahead. Especially the younger ones.
What both of you aren't realizing is the format of a competition. Doing those tricks, you don't seem to think are hard, in a row like that consistent and Clean is what competition skating is all about. The best skater doesn't always win the best run/line does. She's Def not there cuz she's pretty. She's there cuz she's consistent.
@@jayburd4225 if the best tricks and line always wins, where is Chloe’s gold medal? Switch flipped the big set to end her run, which was already better than the others without the switch flip.
@@stevo3938 I mean it comes down to style, the landings, and overall difficulty. One good trick ain't enough to win a run. Clearly Leticia is the best rounded skater. Style, cleanliness, and difficulty. She's got it locked. But she won't be on top for long. Tons of great female skaters coming up.
You watch the female gymnasts compete, and they are phenomenal. Yet when I watch female skateboarders, it always seems distinctly average. Clearly, she's good, but not anywhere near the level of the male pros. And I don't really understand why - skateboarding doesn't require a huge amount of strength and you'd assume the flexibility and build of the female body would have a considerable advantage (as seen in gymnastics). So why do female skateboarders always seem to compare so poorly to their male counterparts? Sky Brown seems to have a better style, and she's super fluid on vert and in park, but when it comes to the more technical elements of street skating everything seems to fall apart. This isn't some nonsense about men being superior to women - I just don't get why there's such a distinction when it comes to skating?
Maybe some doctor could explain it in detail, what you're questioning. Anatomy plays a role amongst other factors. As men/woman grow adult their body develops in different ways. Bones/ muscles... I can see your point about "skateboarding doesn't require much strength" It's true. But when you compare and say 'women rather do poorly' it's nothing different than other sports. Remember that trans person competing in womens swimming?
Surely you understand there's way more opportunity's for her progression in America. She made the right choice for her career. It doesn't mean she doesn't go back and visit family & friends ...
She goes back all the time. But so what if she didn't? Lot's of people move to other places in this world and can't even afford to go back and forth. Is her living a dream life from hard work supposed to negate her origins? No. Nothing wrong with Leticia's life whatsoever.
@@mikehunt4797 *you're.... Stay focused here. You are speculating on how you "imagine" Leticia "feels" about Brazil, but your assumptions are unfounded and baseless. Do you honestly believe that she doesn't love Brazil? Come on now. She came to the US for work and has been working here ever since. How terrible! And she also became an American citizen. Oh my. Is that so "wrong" of her as well? lol
How do you define the greatest? She's been in the game longer with weak competition but Rayssa Leal for example is so much better than her already and she's 14 years old.
xD greatest ? she is just doing the same tricks from 10 years ago, she didnt learn any new tricks, she just cashes in on her sexy image, she is far from the greatest female skateboarder ever, tell me you're a simp without telling me you're a simp xD
