I have heard a few headphones with dacs and amps, it is a clear difference. I just haven't had the financial attention to spend the money for the gear yet. Im still in the works of purchasing everything i need for my theater room.

I think that I’m getting this. I’ll use your link if I do! I love, love, love class A amps. The only concern is the heat. Heat kills longevity. Wish that had designed some heat sinks into the design. Pop the cap! Would love to see the interior design.
Beware that the volume control is wacky to say the least ! Below vol 55 it takes 4 steps of the control to make any change (for example 48,49,50 & 51 or 52,53,54 & 55 are the same level). Each volume change (4 steps total) is a 2dB step. Above 55 or from 55 to 56 there is a whopping 6 dB step and then from 56 to max one volume change per step but back to 2dB steps. In my case I just leave the vol at 50 and adjust the output of the source up/down as needed. If your source is fixed this volume control will NOT work so BEWARE !!!
Back in 2017 I bought the x7s based on your review and I have been rocking it since today do you think s17 pro is a good upgrade ? Are they even close ? Also I think DT 880 600 ohms would love this amp
I noticed that too, it's absolutely maddening. But he has two Rebel amps in different colors! Isn't that more important to know? I watched this because I am seriously interested in this amp but there are no other reviews out yet. Unfortunately, this "review" is as useless as most by this clueless loudmouth. He likes it and it runs hot. Why does he like it? What does it sound like? How does it compare to other amps a buyer might consider? Not. One. Word. (Sandu of Soundnews said he considers the S17 to be the best amp by far under $1K and that his review will be out in a few days. I guarantee that review will have some logical comparisons.)
I wanted to give the spotlight more to this. I find I fixate and get flustered with multiple units. I didn't want to have to title this REBEL AMP vs AUNE S17 if nobody knows what the S17 is. I am planning on a big Class-A shootout in the future so I will address things there. Instead of just those two, then another to, then another one.
Hello Zeos. Should I get the Aune S17 or the Topping A90d/A70 pro? My main headphones are the Hifiman Edition XS and a few headphones with impedance up to 300ohms.

Now since you have reviewed both much-talked-about Aune S17 Pro or and xDuoo TA-20, could you advise to choose an appropriate amp for HiFiMAN HE6SE v2 and SENNHEISER HD 6XX. Or should I buy both of them (for planar and dynamic HPs respectively) if it makes both headphones sound differently with each amp. Would appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance! Regards, Alex.
Love it with the HiFiMAN HE6SE v2. Makes the amp work pretty hard I guess, temps hit 66 in an ambient room temp of about 60. It has not switched back down to 100ma mode but I switched manually and it sounded just as good to my ear
I don't recall having the sort of "revelation" I did here with those. but at the same time I am so much more attentive to changes the amp makes now. I would live the master19 to compare.
Idk if you knew or not. But there are 2 modes to this amp. A 50 mah and a 100 milli amps. The 100 has a red menu and I saw your screen looked blue the entire time denoting half power and you said it couldn’t run tungsten. I imagine it would sound a lot better in mode 2 and at 7 watts class a I would think it could run tungsten reasonably well
@@ZReviews ok and when I said reasonably I mean not to full power but get it to at least 75% 80 max of what it could be. And yea gettin a dac with high voltage output helps too
We got the Aune S17, and on the first day, after 35 minutes use, the temperature display read 83c! you could barely touch it,and we thought it was faulty and needed replacing, however, since then the temp stays in the 50s/60s and it sounds amazing with our Arya Organic and TH909s.

Will efficient headphones get some good travel on this, or max out at 9:00-10:00? I am a quiet listener and have been looking at the Singxer SA-1 for that reason.
I bought the aune s17 and it orgasmic, I matched it with Geshelli JS dac with sparkos and 4499 chip. The only problem I have is the pre amp and when I listen with headphones work in the same time and can’t figure out why I can’t just switch them separately?
Z, just wondering if you plan on getting a couple of the new ZA3 dual stereo/mono balanced amps (based on the V3) for review from Fosi Audio? If so, you should ask for a couple of their new 48V/5A GaN power supplies too. Compare them to the standard 48V/5A power supply that comes with the ZA3 and as an option on the V3. It would be nice to get your opinion on what preamps you'd use with 2 ZA3's in mono as well.
@@ZReviews Yeah I've heard that with a 48V/5A power supply the V3 can run the smaller model (but still very power hungry) Magnepans like LRS+, all the way up to 1.7 very well so I've been eagerly anticipating monoblocks ever since Fosi told me they were coming. I didn't think they'd be here so soon. It looks like they're doing even better on Kickstarter than the V3's campaign did. I can't wait.

Yes but its a bit different in delivery. A SolidState Class A is gonna push harder most times. Tubes are gonna add the good distortions on top. NOW Imagine a Class A tube feeding INTO this class A ss and then into a set of Tube Amps for speakers.
I got back from SoCal and it was already Oct 5th. I decided to postpone until November and just have more stuff in it. PLUS the new 3 day release means less stuff is ready to sell.
IF I did head to head I'd say ...... yes. But its close. I think Aune has some proprietary magic because their DAP also has some of the best portable sound Ive ever experienced. Keep an eye out.
@@ZReviews I was doubting between Burson Playmate 2 which is way lower the the Soloist so no match for the Aune. And what about the Fiio A9 Pro and Aune S17 Pro..?
The Current Allotment. available for the headphones / Output. It increases temp and can help drive headphones FASTER.. But if it gets too hot or isn't required at a certain resistance you can run 50mA
As neat as the Chi-Fi products are I cannot fathom spending hundreds for something that would have to be returned to China if defective. At least you get 30 days if bought on Amazon, but still..
not sure what tube AUNE use their but to me it sound like they try to BS people whe never heard decent tubes. "This is tube like.. soft and... " BS! No decent tube amp is soft, and 2nd soft means lack of details. soft does not mean warm, soft is bad. Only those who never heard good sound thinks soft means good.
I mean when I use a tube amp what I WANT is a significant change in the way it dispenses sound. I WANT distortions that are pleasurable, I want a widening of soundstage and a boost of low end and depth. I want a good tube amp to soften the highs that one some headphones become fatiguing and I want it to be different on every headphone. The want of the Zeos may not outweigh the needs of the many but the few need tubes.
@@ZReviews tubes does have a significant difference in sound, when I switch from my Violectric V550 PRO to my WA--6 SE, the presentation changes completely, the sound has more bite, the tone is more rich, dense, some details stand out easier, but it is never soft. And that was my point. Soft sound = bad. Doesn't matter if it is a cheap 80$/ set or 5000$/tube, but people who never heard decent tubes don't usually know, they associate tube sound with an old radio and they go "oh tubes are soft" and this lack of experience is exploited by some brands with "this is soft like a tube, but you don't have to replace tubes, so buy this".

I'm testing this amplifier right now. Dynamics 0, flat as a table sound, plus three spaces for balance. I do not recommend this amplifier. Try listening to Heed Canapm 2 and everything will become clear...
