I saw a Journal the other day where some of the pages inside the cover were bigger than the cover. She said she wanted to Journal her life and by making the pages bigger, it kind of showed how her life was too big to be contained in a small Journal cover. It looked really cool. Kind of gave me the permission to go with the flow. Do anything and don’t be bogged down with the rules.

I soak my fabrics first then spray the rusty items then I wrapped them or lay the rusty on fabric like layering.these turned out really nice.

Hi Robyn. I found a lot of very old pieces of rusty iron & got poor results also, despite using lots of vinegar. My partner said I would never get them to dye because with age, the rust chemically changes to a form which is not soluble. Can’t remember the scientific term. So use rusted pieces that are not too old or fresh ones you rust yourself!

Oh yes......my ideas went WILD when I first started crafting especially Journals and only after 2yrs. have I learned to a lot but also ....just have a couple of ideas for a project and not get overwhelmed by it......tfs

I'm enjoying this series so far. I finally found a rusty heavy chain in hubby's shed, will be following along. I love shabby chic and that is mostly my style, but this rusty grunge is my second most favorite! I also received my book from Jeanne, reading it over, love it!! Thanks so much!!

All your rusted pieces came out fabulous! Great job! They will be wonderful in your journals! I am so overwhelmed with Christmas orders for my Etsy shop right now but I plan to do this with you the minute I am done with Christmas. I can’t wait! I did get the book but I haven’t even had a chance to look at it but that’s on my list as well. This looks so fun and I have lots of things to work with! 🌸😊🌸 I better get busy so I can play too!

I'm excited to see how you are going to glue the pages to the binding. I've done it before using cheesecloth but it doesn't sound like that's what you're going to do. I also love the look of the pages sticking out of that Bobbsey Twins book so I'm anxious to see if you will leave them like that.

Hi Robin. My rusty stuff turned out pretty good. I should probably stop watching so many videos (not yours of course). Too many ideas and I end up doing nothing. So I'm sticking with you! I'm a little confused. You'll be making 3 journals? The old planner, the plain 4X6 and the old book, right? Do they have anything to do with each other? Thank you.

Oh you make perfect sense and I know what you mean, art heals and I’m so happy for you ! I love doing this so much and sharing so maybe you can start a RU-vid channel and share your new found love of this art form. There are lots of Facebook groups as well where you can share what you have made and people are very kind and helpful. Maybe some groups that speak your language too? My porch prints has a group and also junk journal junkies. Do a search on Facebook and you will find them or if you need help let me know. Take care💜
