"I then unpinned them, and did them the right way round" - mood 🤣 Love the idea of a denim spencer! Definitely agree you can wear the dress anywhere.

They're called sleevils for reason 🤣 I'm going to have to have a play and see what modern clothes work with the spencer.

I love the idea of making the spencer jacket out of denim! Such a fun idea!!!

Thanks 😊 I'm pretty sure I've got enough to make another jacket too!

This dress, jacket and bonnet look just beautiful on you! Love this style of dress and the fabric too. When you mentioned a mistake you had made, I guessed correctly that it must be the skulls upside down on some part of the dress, but I didn't see it until you pointed it out at the end. 💀💖🌟

Thank you so much ❤️ It was going to happen, lol. I checked and double-checked that I had them both the right way round, but nope 😂

What a smashing outfit! 👍 And, hey, great minds think alike. I’ve been DYING to make a Regency dress from this skull and crossbones fabric I’ve seen online. I love the effect of a dress that looks dotted at a distance, but up close you can see that it’s really skulls. It just warms the cockels of my little, goth heart. 😄 As for tying on the bonnet… Have you tried playing with the dimensions of the ribbon? Maybe you need a wider ribbon that makes an even bigger bow?

Thank you ❤️ Ooooo, if you make one with that fabric you'll have to tag me on Instagram so I can see it 🙂 I'll have a play with the ribbon, I just used what I had in my stash but it's only about an inch thick so you may be on to something there.

Ok this turned out gorgeous, the style looks amazing on you, and I kind of want one. But also, I spent like 75% of this video just excitedly waiting to find out what a "spencer" is. TIL!

Thank you ❤️ Also thanks for pointing that out, I often forget that not everyone knows what I'm talking about.

After a rough few days, this video cheered me up immensely! My head is hurting less now. Thank you! I love the dress and how it turned out. It looks really cute and the Spencer is complimentary too. I did catch the armband mistake and you can fix it if you like. Your choice. I was thinking of a black dupioni Regency dress for evening wear or a ball gown. I have the black opera gloves to wear with it. I cringe over Bridgerton but the off dresses give me ideas about making Goth dresses. If I were to make the dress I am thinking of, perhaps it can be worn as a wedding dress if I ever get married again.

Thank you 😊 That sounds lovely! One thing I'll say about Bridgerton is that it's normalised making Regency stuff that's just a bit of fun and not 100% historically accurate.

I was thinking that, I'm sure I remember dresses similar to this in the 90s.

You did beautiful work on this! I think the alteration to bring the side front of the neckline in changed the angle so that it was not as low cut as you had originally planned and left you with extra fabric in the front that you so charmingly gathered. Did you shorten the shoulder in the front to accommodate the alterations to the back? That would also bring the neckline back up. Well done, and thank you for sharing with us!

Soo cute! Woot! I love the whole ensemble! ❤❤❤ For neckline adjustments it's super common for the fit to change/having ease. Taking a small contouring dart from the neckline on the pattern & also rotating it out, might fix that for future. But the gathering was a great fix!
