Don't know what I love more........the lamp banding texture or your crazy personality!! Leaning towards YOU! LMBO, thanks for taking the time to share your talents.
First of all, you are a kick! I am about to buy a rolling mill and am happy I came across your video! I’m excited to try the stamp and glitter method to make a texture plate! I have never seen that before and it is brilliant! Thanks for all the other texture ideas, but especially the lacy undies! After I got off the floor from laughing I realized how BRILLIANT using the lace is!!! I can’t wait to make a pendant or ring and blithely say “yeah, the texture comes from my old unmentionables I had lying around!” Now I’m off to watch your other videos!
I discovered that Amazon sells plastic stencils which work fantastic for making images on metal sheets and they are flexible enough to go through the rolling mill over and over again!!
I have a new video showing you how to etch your own texture plates for your mill! SUBSCRIBE !!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HfWG9xVff00.html
I have used your embossing process as a resist for etching on copper and brass. Never thought about using it on card stock. I enjoy your videos as well as your online classes. I'm current viewing your bracelet and ring classes.. Thanks
Lol. You're awesome! The end was priceless. 😂. Great tips and info. Now I was to go roll some textures. I wonder if my wife will notice if her underwear develops holes in them..
very cool , cant wait until I can afford a rolling mill. I saw your newer mill and watched you make the stamps. awesome. but I get $200. a month spending money so It may talk a yr to save. I just bought a work bench. cant wait for it to arrive. and I will put my old one next to my new one. cant wait. a dear friend who's a silversmith gave me some awesome things. plating machine all kinds of things I don't even know what they are just yet. he cant do it anymore. bless him. I'm going to be 72 in may and I have many medical issues. and I want to make as much as I can. my husband just bought me a punch cutter for round pieces and I just bought a 2lb brass hammer and a round bracelet mandrel. I have pretty much made bracelets and rings and pendants so far. I have a kiln but Dont know how to figure how much silver I will need for whatever I make but I will learn when I come to doing that. I have enough silver to make some things before I need to buy more. so Im saving for more silver from Riogrande. I live in colorado. I would love to visit that place. just bought a leather pad to use. its on its way here too. I love making jewelry. im going to teach my friend and neighbor soon. I bought her some things to get her started and she can use a few of my things. love watching you leslie. thank you. Maureen, my friends call me MO
whynot184 Thanks! look on ebay for used mill or check your local craigslist you'll find one and have a lot of fun. I would not waste my money on an economy mill though , get a Cavallin or a Durstin and you'll never be sorry
One word for this.........................AWESOME!!!! And so much fun too!! I have subscribed & going to look at your other vids too. Thank you very much!
Your rolling mill looks fairly simple compared with some of the others. Can you provide information about the mill, where to buy it, if you know that, and approximate cost, if you remember that? Great tutorial. I enjoyed it very much and am an experienced jeweler, but not experienced with texturing metals. Thanks for the lesson.
Carol Walker, I have upgraded to the Pepe's be ultra 130 mm mill it's a wonderful, affordable mill made in the USA! Amazon sells them with free prime shipping
Your videos are fabulous and so informative! Wow and your jewelry is STUNNING ♡♡♡♡♡. Please make more videos.... especially a PMC. I'd like to set some stones and would love to see how you do it ;-)
GREAT video, thanks! I did a spinner ring with my veil as texture, worked great! Keep staring at your at your pendant are you wearing your necklace the other way around Leslie?
Best mill on the market in my opinion is the Durston I’d recommend getting a combo mill with as much flat space as U can afford Otto Frei has many to choose from you can use discount code LkvGoldx for a limited time
Leslie , new sub here . I have lots of crafting , tools and supplies so using them for lots of different purposes . I have a Sizzix Big Shot , isn't that essentially a rolling mill ?
What was the lamp bending? I see someone below thought you said lap banding but you didn't reply either way sounds interesting and where do I get info or materials please
+Leslie Villarreal whether Google is my friend or not two people couldn't make out what you said so googled what we thought you said hence us asking OKAY! geez chill You do a good job but be more open to simple questions
Hi Leslie! Great and very informative video, thank you! Can you tell me how you did your little flower embellishments on your ring as well as what you used as the pattern to make the whole ring band? Is that die for a hydraulic press by chance? I would REALLY appreciate it because I'm having a hard time finding great large ring patterns and I don't draw freehand very well. I hope to see more videos from you soon!
go to my new website and click on online classes there is a video that will be free for a few weeks na it shows you how to etch on silver .. www.lesliekailvillarreal.com
+Naturalborntillers Hi there, only 2 brands worth having in my opinion and they arent' cheap but will last decades.. DURSTON or CAVALLIN keep your eyes on ebay and craigslist for used ones
