Always fun to watch silver being poured. Good rule of thumb since gold is around twice the atomic weight of silver you can typically make twice as heavy of a bar with the same size mold. Inversely if you have a mold that you know you can make a 10oz gold bar in, then you should probably be able to make a 5oz silver bar in the same mold.
Great video Kev. Gold coming out of solution is amazing - but nothing beats the beauty of those pure Silver crystals. If we don't hear from you beforehand - appreciate all of your great content from 2022 and wish you and Mrs sreetips an enjoyable festive season and a wonderful (and productive) 2023. 👍👍
Thanks for another great video! I know this is an older video, but you might consider a rosebud torch head for your melting. That is what we used in class. I have a bachelors degree in advanced metalsmithing from SIU.
This guy had the best eye & hand control to stamp it perfectly. Extremely hard to do this. Often wondered if you loose at least 1 or 2% of silver or gold when melted then poured. Great vidio.
I can see all of the work that you put into pouring these bars, it makes sense about the price. It's nice to see someone that has the smarts to tell the reality about silver. It's obvious that you have put in a lot of work, which shows the under value of silver right now, like you said. Beautiful silver bars👍
I have been in love with silver since childhood. It is very beautiful and affordable. I only have one gold piece. Wish I could afford to stack the yellow stuff!!!
Its makes no sense that silver is so dirt cheap i.e mining and production cost is barely less than the spot price.. They are using energy to subsidies the price suppression of silver. On the COMEX and LBMA.
I always allow a 1% "loss" from crystal going to a bar. I think this could be the sulphide boiling off or perhaps there is moisture trapped within the crystal structure... Also small bars is the way as you only ever get a percentage of the perfect with no outgassing.
Of course it is yet another vid show casing awesome skills. I'v always had a soft spot for poured bars and 5oz especially has a great feel in the hand.
Hello Mr sreetips. Thank you for showing have to prepare, and the melting process. Man... Hove exelent your silver bars are sir. Thank you, and god bless you. Arne
Hi Mister Sreetips, All what you perform was, long time ago, called Alchemy. Thanks a lot for your precious and clear explanations. Best Regards, Sylvain
So bad ass you can grow silver in a silver cell. Love your channel Sreetips. I can watch you refine and pour gold and silver all day. Well I kinda do already.
Awesome pours there Sir Sreetips! I love pouring bars! So glad to see you using the brazing tip. As a welder of many many years, I like seeing the right equipment being used the way it is intended. Cutting torch is used for cutting. In which case it uses more gas and oxygen. The brazing tip is used to melt material, using less gas and oxygen. Hence, more cost effective. Did you like the performance of the brazing tip as opposed to the cutting tip? Also, I have found that instead of having the mapp heating directly above the cavity and the pour, I adjust the tip to where it is heating just the graphite mold. I don't get the hazing on the bar from the mapp hitting it directly. Bars turned out beautiful. Your stamping is impeccable! Thank you for all you do!
That was Bergj awesome to watch the first stamping part was a bit painful to watch but then I realised its all a part of the process and I remember in metalwork how unforgiving this'd sstampscan be if you want a straight love be you need to take the time very nice work .
You could do with a die like you have for sreettips thats a die set holder that you make up the biggest portion of the info like you stamp that would speed up the part for the stamping of the bulk and you then add in the weight 999 Fine troy oz. so all you need to add a stamp for Gold and Silver.
I was about to post the same thing. "999 Fine" could be one die, just like the metal type. Date will be tricky as they have a tendency to change every day.
Hadn't really thought about it before, but I guess that's true. The silver bars in the biggest mold will be half the weight of the gold. I suppose you could get bigger molds.
Fantastic Video! Sir. Thank you for showing us. The only thing else I would've wanted to see is, well you know that piece of equipment that you put to the bar and it tells you what kinds & how much of every metals found in the bar. 😁.......GOD BLESS
@@sreetips Did you just put a brazing tip on your cutting torch handle or did you also use a brazing handle? A brazing/welding tip and handle are much lighter and easier to manipulate than a cutting setup.
Awesome to see you again Sreetips. It has been far too long since I last paid you a visit. I sincerely have missed you old friend. I really enjoyed working with your 9999 crystals. I see we use the same borax and it is great to see someone other than me pouring bars old school. Torch and cup is sooooo much more enjoyable than plugging in an electric furnace eh. And a whole lot cheaper as well. I am still pouring and using a Mapp alternative called GCX. It is no longer available so once I get the last of this 100 lb bottle emptied I am going to introduce oxy/propane to my pouring bench. It is much hotter than the Mapp. I sure have enjoyed this visit with you old friend. I will try and make it far less time before finding you again my old friend.
@@sreetips Most comercial tracers etc for steel use P/OX for plate steel (the good stuff) up to and including 6 inch thick T1 plate. It is marginally colder than Acc. And a tenth of the cost and no demerge monthly bottle rental charges and O2 is cheap enough on its own. Have a great last of 22 and ONWARD into 23 my FRIEND. Take care eh. We must do a silver trade one day as I have nothing from you and the other way around.
I say my collection but I just recently started buying just about three months or so in now but there's so much out there on the internet it's really difficult to know who and what to trust.
Perfect timing for me! It’s time for chow with a side of awesome entertainment…or should I say vice versa (bachelor chow is on the menu tonight, not the pulpo). Thank you Sir!!!👍👍🤟
Hoof….very cool, but not a good investment…..he’s selling at a little less than double what most 5 oz bars go for…..(and what he said about it being “grossly underpriced” isn’t true. I love sreetips but he has a very romanticized view on precious metal prices.)
Silver is not an investment. It’s insurance. If you understand this then you know the value of silver. Everybody knows the price, but only a few know the value. One day, $400 plus will look cheap for a 5 ounce silver bar.
I’ll hand it to ya buddy. You got ppl willing to pay 4 times spot on precious metals. Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. I won’t be one of them, as much as I’d like to own one of your bars.
@zackzimmer7167 it's not always about the investment in the metals. People are investing in sreetips. These purchases help produce his videos. I completely agree, for an investment this is an absolute no. However, some people have been watching Sreetips for years and see it the same was as a souvenir or donation to the page. I personally bought 1oz of the crystal just to add to my collection and say I have something from a Sreetips video just because I've been a fan for years.
Silver isn't really undervalued, you just showed we can just make more of it. Not an easy process, but its doable and profitable. Unlike with other precious metals. Still amazing to see the entire process of it all, you did an amazing job. They turned out great.
This is a little old but he's not making more he refining silver that is already there.....u still have to pull it from the ground u can't just make more
Extremely good advice, diamond hands for gold and silver now. Unfortunately there are circumstances and ppl still need the fiat, for now. Love your vids, good eye for watches
Here’s what I do: store my wealth in precious metals that are increasing in value. I don’t store wealth in paper, that can be printed into existence out of thin air, in dollars that are declining in value faster than a snowball melting in July. If I need some fiat paper to buy food or pay rent, then I sell a little of my metal. This is a strategy used over thousands of years and it always works. Fiat has a 100% failure rate over that same time period. Gold and silver are real money. Why? Because they can’t be printed into existence out of thin air. Stay safe my friend.
