he just needs a timer, and/or a signal from the storage to run the harvester when the inventory is low he will remember when the cake production stops because he is out of sugar, but that could be a while depending on how much he uses the cakes
I doubt he will find a use for the cakes he already made......we are likely in endgame (end series) but he MAY, likely off screen, do a simple timer. Prepare for Dire to get distracted by ForgeCraft 1.19 episodes ....he might even do more than 10 episodes this FC series.
Wait about 10 episodes and he might see this comment lol isnt there a chunkloader added by one of the addons that works with create contraptions? If so it would keep from having to chunkload any chunks with ftbchunks
Looking the Create issue tracker, and there was an issue with stations no showing on a map when the station and the track location are on different maps (two different chunks that has a map boundary between them) I was wondering if the station and the track are on 2 separate maps But missed chunk loading also sounds like very Dire thing to do
What is REALLY surprising is seeing Dire on the mini map, outside of the chunk loaded horseshoe, looking at the Egg station, which is also outside the horseshoe musing on why the Egg station is being "unloaded" from the train network.
It'll still eventually be a problem again. As long as the train is transporting more lava than the ingredients use, it will fill up and behave the same way again. Dumping excess lava would fix it.
He gets 2 stack of sugar, 2 stacks of eggs, and 1 stack of nether rack which will yield 1-2 stacks of Cinder flour (statistically it should be 1.5 stacks) This means he can make at least 1 stack of cake bases and up to 2 stack per full run of the train IIRC the tanks he is using hold 8 buckets (8000mB) each, each tack could make 32 Blaze Cakes, so the 2 tanks on the train are enough to make 1 stack of Blaze Cakes. Assuming the trains trip collects the full complement of ingredients. The lava will all be used, the nether rack (Cinder flour) will all be used, and there will be left over sugar and eggs (a stack or less) So having the size of the tank on the train match the size of the tank that feeds the spout should be enough to keep the train running without the inventory activity check holding the train due to lava refilling the buffer tank as the spout uses it That is only the case though if the train always returns with a full complement of ingredients. The real hold up is going to come if the egg production doesn't keep up with the sugar and nether rack production With that, it could be possible that you only deliver a few eggs and a full load of lava ( and sugar and nether rack), and the train departs. While the train is on it's next trip, the few eggs means only some of the lava is used and the buffer tank is mostly full. When the train arrives again, it will unload If there are eggs, the cake production will resume and you could run into the situation where the inventory activity check is continuously triggered as lava trickles from the train, but the real hold up will still be the need for eggs. So it will not matter if the train is waiting at the main station as lava slowly transfers off, or it the train continuously circles picking up little to no eggs each trip
I hope he fixes the rest of the automation and adds a stockpile switch to the blaze cakes that can toggle the leaving of the train. Then it will be completely hands-free automated!
I paused and checked the comments because it was so frustrating. He literally *just* looked up the Ponder graphic showing how to use tunnels... Good to know he finally figures it out; back to the video! *EDIT TO ADD:* Welp, maybe one day he'll also learn that you can put crushing wheels horizontally on belts 😂
One of the best things about create is you can build it your way with the many tools. One of the worse things is Dire gets stuck in a way and doesnt seem to think of other more efficient ways.. He uses chaindrives just to speed up and completely overlooks the fact that they keep their rotational direction just like belts.. It both looks better and probably less lag if theres many.
This right here. Put the controller wherever it is convenient for you - it absolutely does not have to be touching any of the drawers themselves; that's why you HAVE the linking tool in the first place.
Dire just for you to know, there is a single block version of the crushing wheels that will give you the same result, it's called the mill and it is also from create
Should be noted that crushing wheels can lay horizontally. I like to lay them horizontally on a mechanical belt so that anything going along the belt will get crushed instead of dropping into the wheels. You can also power the crushing wheels with horizontal laying water wheels below ground.
The small fluid tanks make the stop at the first station longer because there's constant movement of lava from the 2 tanks on the train to the one tank outside the train
One thing I find amusing about these past few episodes is by the time he's done making blaze cakes, he will have completely forgotten why he wanted to make them in the first place. 😂 At least he can go back and watch his own recordings to figure that out. Maybe I should start recording for the same reason, even if I never publish anything.
probably an old habit to put in redundant filtering from older mods or something. sometimes he just likes having that security rather than needing to think about it.
My health goes down, I need a cow I'll find some wheat and one egg now This sweet, sweet treat, all I need is sugarcane I'll make some cake, I'll make some cake
The amount of times I've had the functional draws disconnect from the controller is infuriating. Especially when it means my create farms just start dropping entities all over the floor and lag out the server I'm on
I wonder if there's a way to make a train that mines for you? Like it has a huge wall of drills on the front, and lays down track in front of itself, then picks it back up behind? Then you could put an ender chest on it and have all the unnecessary stuff voided, and the rest sent to be processed. I wonder if that's possible?
I know you can do exactly this using the legacy train/cart system (that uses vanilla minecraft rails), and I don't think these new trains will replace that functionality. These Trains only work if their is a set schedule to follow (there's no option to blindly follow the tracks automatically, I don't think), thus all of the infrastructure needs to be manually built before the trains can do anything. (at around 28:40, you can see the train just sits there cause it's next stop is broken) The old cart/trains could use drills and deployers to mine and replace rails, and several different kinds of tunnel bores have been made, and I think keeping both types of rail systems in the mod is good for each purpose. Tunnel Bores in Minecraft reminds me of the old Steve's Carts bores, that was fun.
The only reason I could think of about the station disconnecting is the station gets loaded but the track doesn't at the same time?? Honestly, seems like a weird bug, maybe you should report it to Create.
It's because the station is in a different chunk than the track, and the chunk the station is in isn't force loaded. So whenever Dire goes into the Nether or moves too far from the train area, the station unloads and disconnects from the track. He just needs to force load that one chunk and it'll be fixed.
Dire do you think that the egg station breaking might have to do with the nether portal or something ? i have no idea but thought it would be worth mentioning :)
Yes really cool to see you automate this with the trains, now all we have to do is get you to make the contraptions more compact, that’s the next challenge with create. Taking you existing contraption and making it a small as possible- getting all the rotational power to everything so close. I currently have all my casings, plates and polished rose quartz production in a 4x5 footprint 😀
Dire, I think that station keeps messing up because, unlike all your other automation for this, you never loaded the chunk that it was in, so while the track may be loaded, the station is not.
He usually uploads about 2-5 episodes then never touches forgecraft again. Shame really cause its enjoyable and entertaining to watch him interact others.
Man i have been following this serie since the beginning, but i my god.. the last 3 episodes are so f* slow, 1 hr and 30 just to build a train and u won’t even need i. The future… not liking this content a bit.
Is this the first episode your watching? You do realize he goes slow not just for him to learn but for others to right? Stated multiple times this is a "tutorial" series.
