Agreed. He dealt a lot of damage, takes a lot of damage, a lot of moveset combo, he's fast, unforgiving but still gave you decent opening window to dodge and attack. I'm at scadutree lv10 when fighting him and he just melt with moonveil lol. And that 3 thrust in the air combo was sick af
true and he has very fair windows unlike rellana, so even an unga bunga build can have time to hit. I think it’s the new best boss of elden ring on pair with radagon
he's one of the best bosses i've ever fought, same with rellana. both have their moments, but messmer's moveset is so graceful with tons of side moves, like a venomous snake, hence why the delays between attacks.
Messmer is incredibly hard but incredibly fun to learn. And what I learned is to go into 90% of his attacks, jump 4 attacks and to unlock and strife the jumping attacks
I accidently one-shot this guy via summoning and felt I cheesed myself out of a good fight (which is why I'm here). Oh, well, I guess that's what NG+ is for.
This guy actually felt a lot more fair (but still difficult) than other bosses I loved fighting him. I accidentally 1st try'd his 2nd phase and I'm thankful I did cuz this shit looks fkd
@@imauralyn It's the same lines (besides 2nd phase), but it's very clearly a different take. That's why it doesn't sound the same as in the trailer. They must've done another recording with the actor to make it less dramatic.
I think it’s that messmer was born with his like how the omen are born with horns, and rykard idolized the idea of immortality so he let a god eating snake devour him
There's no way Asmon cheese him like that.A RU-vidr/Twicth streamer i watch literally used strength build too but the armor is a*s cause....ehem fashion soul but he beat Messmer within 6/7 tries. Also i forgot...he respec to 60 Faith,50 vigor,26/30 mind,40 strength, mid dex, same int and 26 endruance....but still won.Name,Insym.
These people started the DLC either on their first play through or new game + 1/2... My dumb@$$ started the DLC forgot my save file was on new game + 5, can only afford 2 hits per boss. Grab = instant dead at 100% hp.
Wtf people using mimic tear and magic still finding it difficult... It took me only 3.5 hour to beat him.. Am level 161 with nagakiba and river of blood.. Without any summons magic or shield... I wish i could stream too.. 😂
Aggro is different from base game. The moment you hit the boss while the mimic distracts it, they are immediately on your ass point blank. No matter if you use mimic or not, bosses are still very hard due to their speed and aggressiveness. I can tell you haven’t even tried to use summons in the dlc. You would know it’s still difficult if you did.
@@Destiny_sm yes i didn't use any summons in dlc.. But i completed the whole game before dlc using summons.. Summons makes it so easy.. Killed malenia using mimic tear within half an hour..
I can't get enough of Asmon's strength player elitist ass getting exposed for his awful dodging abilities. I swear strength players are the worst at the cool technical parts of combat. Also, gotta disagree with you. There's nothing impressive about using a shield. There's no timing required, just high stamina- which is something obtained through farming runes (also not impressive). You have to beat bosses by learning their movesets and counterattacking. It's not an elitist point. It's for your own good.
Honestly I expected A LOT more from the guy in the trailer. So much so that I just stumbled into him, thinking he'd be the final boss or at least somewhat relevant. Nope, he's in the trailer, he shows up, you kill him, and use his fire to burn the tree. I even second-tried him.
