One thing that I find is a common "mistake" that admittedly is likely done for balance issues is steering angle. A good example is that the P16 stock in game as only a 16 degree steering angle but from brochures I could find they list the steering angle as being 40 degrees. There are others like the Derry based off of the M911 HET has a 36 degree steering angle but in real life if I remember correctly was closer to 28 degrees. It really can radically change the feel of the truck having those extra degrees of steering angle to make a given truck more nimble in tight quarters.
There are even exceptions to the jerry cans - IIRC, Kenworth W900's roofrack and Loadstar's pickup bed both have more fuel than the jerry cans would indicate. And one of the newer light scouts actually has less. Wider wheels are likely a result of "deeper" rims on some JAT tires. If the wheels had old position the hubs would clip through them. Form over function... Trying to balance fuel tanks by their size is kind of pointless because the authors seem to have taken some liberties when designing the trucks(and they would usually result in huge tank capacities) I think McKillem's spreadsheet has list of calculated volumes based on the in-game models. In case of Azov 5, if you move the minicrane to the front the supports clip through the wheels as they turn. The devs could move it to the back though, like on the Mastodon. CAT fuel tanks don't show fuel because they technically don't actually have fuel - they weigh the same full or empty. I once tried to add "liquid fuel" to them but the game only allows fuel tanks to be a cylinder or a rectangular cuboid, and neither one fits well inside their add-ons. If you're interested in even more oddities in the game, check changelog of this mod: mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/snowrunner-bugfixes-tweaks-and-rebalance
a lot of these things are either oversight from devs or its something that they couldnt figure out yet or devs just dont care about players and smol improvements(
Regarding Boar, it’s a feature. Stiffness of suspension depends on tire weight, the heavier the tire, the stiffer is suspension which pushes the truck higher, especially noticeable under load. UODs are just lighter than OHDs
@@20985229147 well, for Boar it’s kinda ok. This “feature” really annoys when you compare single tire with duals on the back. You may notice how suspension collapses with fuel tank on singles but keep itself much higher on duals. In this scenario that’s a bug :-)
I just finished Austria (season 14) and I have to say, after Two Thousand One Hundred and Eighteen Hours.. I'm ready for a new game. I will always Love Snowrunner. But it's time I moved on. Happy trucking Guys. Been a solid 6 yrs.
I wish the tire tread pattern in mud/dirt would always match the tires that are on the truck. A lot of times its different if you change tires from stock.
For some trucks different tires change the suspension stiffness, resulting in a higher ride hight, it actually sucks for some vehicles because it makes them tip way easier ( this happens on the crocodile, zigzag 5368, and the reverse happens on the tatra 805, just to name a few I know off hand, all these ones happen with the AMHS I tires)
Somebody on the SR team said that the AWD was never supposed to be part of the wolf pack and WS never gave permission for AWD but the community really begged for AWD so we just got AWD.
i want a mod that recalculates all fuel capacities from their actual modelled size. would completely unbalance the game and would ruin scout fuel carriers but would be more realistic
