Great video, and nice job of finding and fixing the problem. I have a ym2015 EU3000is that's been rock-solid with regular oil changes and an occasional dose of Seafoam in the fuel. Having said that, I'm always wanting to stay ahead of potential problems and I'd not considered that the dipstick could break off. I'm struggling to understand how that could happen. I'm guessing it might have been partially broken by a boot with a heavy foot during an oil change. (From the looks of the oil that you drained, it looks like this one doesn't see fresh very often.)
Have you ever had eu3000i not start with the key but will pull start ,the key will crack it over but no spark, but spark when you pull it .Thank you for your time
I was working on my Honda eu3000is and the oil drain cracked and broke off. Not the plug but the metal housing that you open to drain the oil. I've never had this happen and don't know what to replace. I also had a dipstick break off in my new champion 4650 but I didn't run the engine after I found it so it wouldn't get stuck in there. The main issue is the Honda. I can get the dipstick out.. Thankfully, I found it before it got as far as this guy did.
Good job. Yes, it is very well worth it to show the full process of tear down. I was worried that the generator would fall off the table or the table would collapse. Did you use Honda Bond or some other gasket maker to seal the crankcase cover?
I just gave mine new oil n run to check out oil level.. But no start couple backfiring!? it's not the plug cozz sparks well on another honda? ??????? does it have points or magno n coils.. bugga all new to me.. where do I start striping???
