One of my main goals this Summer is to finish working on my 2001 Red Bird (US spec) and put some miles on her . Took it apart for some needed cleaning, polishing, oil change, etc. Didn't ride last year due to Covid and fixing up my house after tornado damage. House is all fixed and after finishing work on my LeSabre it'll be time to finish the XX and ride. Watching your vid made me almost remember the sensation. You ride similar to me ( I just turned 67) and the XX never disappoints! I have a silver 2002 model too that's scheduled for a full customize job by me starting at the end of this Summer (hopefully). I had a new '99 XX bought in '00 and had a new '03 bought in '05. Had to sell my 2003 to pay bills and put a new roof on my house. Broke my heart! Out of the 55 bikes I've owned since 1976, I have to say the XXs are easily in the top 5 of my favorite motorcycles. Ride aware and stay safe.
@@bustayu Oh, I did not notice that. Do you remember what brand you used? Was the cables enough or did you need to extend them? I am tempted to pick up a bird as they aren't too expensive and there is one in decent condition, still have my doubts about it... I know it will never be fully comfortable but every bit helps...
@@I_hunt_lolis I don't remember the brand 🤔 but they do help !! Over 60 the bike is not bad at all, but in town it will get to you . They really are an amazing bike .
