Just finding this video (& your channel) 5 years after the fact. Forteresse is also one of my favorite BM bands, & a definite standout among the overall great Québécois scene. Like you said, they perfectly capture a cold atmosphere and prideful spirit through their music. My grey Forteresse “Metal Noir Québécois” long sleeve is one of my most worn shirts. Well done overview of the discography.

personally, Metal Noir Québécois is my favorite... maybe because it's the first one i'd listen to. Almost everything that comes out from Sepulchral is realllly good. DÉLÉTÈRE are my favorite band on their roster. Raw and grimmy with a punkish vibe... Awesome. Tout de même impressionnant de voir que la scène Black du Québec est mondialement reconnue!

I found Métal Noir Québécois at a particularly difficult time in my life and it forged strength and will in me to over come. I will never forget that.

I'm currently going through a rough patch of my life and recently discovered Forteresse. While Themes pour la rébéllion is my favourite work by them, Metal Noir Québécois is really helping me, especially 'Une Nuit pour la patrie'.

Just had one of their shirts come in the mail :) I was introduced to them through Thèmes Pour la Rébellion, but right now I think Métal Noir Québécois is my favorite from them. Fantastic band.

Thèmes pour la rébellion would be my all time favorite from the band but i do agree, very great bm band from my province. I saw them live at Messe des morts viii and it was great !

Good video. Forteresse are my favorite out of many good Quebecois black metal bands. Sorcier des Glaces, Gris, Sombres Forets and Monarque are all really good. I might be biased because I am Canadian though.

QCBM its optional in some places, and some schools don’t offer many secondary language classes other than Spanish. My school only taught Spanish.

Yes, but I took Spanish for half a year. I never finished the class due to being so sick that year that I would have never passed, so they made me exempt.

Oh I see! I was wondering why US people in general (I am not particularly targeting you.) have so much difficulties with french but I should have guessed before that the first taught secondary language is spanish and not french. Haha. This is not a criticism by the way, I just wanted to know how it is. You pronounce "Québécois" pretty well btw. haha Here in Québec, english courses are mandatory at every level of our education and not optional. It's a good thing IMHO even it doesn't please everyone. :P

QCBM I live in British Columbia, but my mother is from France. Anglo-Canadians pronounce French pretty much the same as Americans do. They aren't much better in the UK either. I think the main reason for this is because, despite all the French and Latin influence that has entered the English language since William the Conqueror brought an end to the Anglo-Saxon era of England, English is still a West Germanic language while French is a Romance language. The easiest language for an English speaker to learn is Dutch. French has a lot of sounds that are very foreign to English speakers, especially the "French R". A lot of French words also have silent endings that throw English speakers off lol
