Thank you. I am more used to why are you printing notes comments. But yeah, its about easily flipping back and forth or multiple graphs without wasting a bunch of time. Notes just to keep from straying and wasting more time.

My third day with the S15, fantastic IEM. Musical, linear, detailed, balanced, nonfatiguing. A much more polished IEM than the S12 series, with better technicalities in the bass and mids to boot. The bass is especially well done. I even hear bounciness from the bass which normally associates with DD, but it’s much more detailed, textured and speedier than DD bass. The treble while doesn’t extend to the stratosphere, blends nicely with other frequencies, and make a coherent sound. Tips: If you don’t hear the trebles, swap out both stock tips for 3rd party tips.
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 10 месяцев назад
Yeah they got the polished right and definitely recommend tip rolling. I'd probably be ok with something between S12 Pro and S15, just a bit more treble as they didn't really move the bass shelf on 15 but lowered the treble. Thank you for your impressions too
@zeissiez

@@PaulWasabii Indeed, the S15 is very sensitive to tips. The treble and bass could be balanced with the correct tips.

Heyday is similarly sloped in the treble, but S15 is a bit steeper making it harder to hear. I like Heyday's levels actually for the same reasons, it is the right balance of treble that sounds like a planar but not fatiguing.

I have tried oh so many planar earphones and still have a lot in my collection and keep going back to S12 Pro. It is the only one with a great sound and comfort. There are some with slightly better sound but worse comfort. The only one with better comfort for me, BASN ASONE, is warmer, which works fine at times. But it's harder to drive and is not an all-rounder like S12 Pro. Hope LetShuoer evolves S15 into next real upgrade from S12.
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 10 месяцев назад
I 100% agree with you on that and that is partially why I nitpicked S15 as much as I did. If you like S12 Pro, I am not sure you will like S15. If you bought and returned S12 Pro, better chance you will like S15.

Thanks for the review paul. Yes it does seem expensive, and could see a resurgence in later half of 2024 when the price goes down. Although I didnt get to test it out, but the overall sound signature looks like something I would enjoy but then again looks like the MP145 has more bass and the balance seems nice.

Yes, it will have a second life when the price drops a bit. I can't blame them, S12 was a popular set, people will grab S15. More will grab it later though if there is a discount.

Great review, Letshuoer should have priced this around $220-$250. I would have been much more likely to buy it. At $320, not a chance in hell would I ever buy it. A definite show stopper for sure. Thank you Paul.

Hi Paul, I appreciate your channel. I currently have the ARTTI T10, and I am pretty happy with it, especially further to a bit of EQ. Should I wish to get even more detail, and clarity, and resolution, which other planar magnetic IEM's should I consider. I also prefer products with manufacturing consistency and no KZ PR's in my horizon, or the MP145 cos of the changes made after these products have been reviewed and measured. These revisions, nullify all their reviews, and I cannot use any reviews as an influence in my purchasing decision, cos what I would be buying, is a different product from what was reviewed. Thank you, and I look forward to your response.
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 2 месяца назад
That is tough, but there is really only one answer, get a S12 Pro and EQ it also. It is the best driver, just needs some eq. Just don't over-do the EQ and squash the details out of it.

Thanks paul, your videos and replies helped me in my iem purchase, loved the castor and the rhapsody. Now, i am searching for my first planar, S15 intrigued me but on the fence if its worth the price. Which would you recommend? S12 pro vs S15 vs Timeless vs Wu Heydey vs P1max vs MP145 vs F1 Pro vs klanar vs dioko?
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 8 месяцев назад
The two in the middle are the safer picks, P1Max and MP145. Still technically capable but not as full on as S12 Pro and Timeless. S15 is too much money. Hang on a little bit, the Shozy P20 turns out to be a planar as well. Michael Bruce is taking a look at mine. That might hit the right spot where MP145 was, the smooth, warm planar.

@@PaulWasabii thankss for the advice, think im gonna wait for a bit longer. Im now scared of the mp145 because of the silent tuning issues and the s12 pro seems appealing to me because of its bass response.

I like these S15’s but I won’t be giving up my S12 Pro’s anytime soon. I love the energy and dynamics it has. The Pro’s are less treble sensitive than the original S12’s so it strikes a good balance between the somewhat strident treble of the original and what I can perceive from the S15’s. Maybe if the S15’s were just under $200, I would get them just to satisfy my curiousity. Otherwise, I’ll keep enjoying the Pro version.
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 7 месяцев назад
The Pro is a killer set. S15 is just too expensive, it was going to be too difficult to meet expectations when people are getting S12 in the low $100s. I am not saying they need to hit $100 but yeah, that $200 level is where most planars are going to live. Sets can certainly drop lower if they are using the older drivers.

S15 is very similarly tuned to P1 Max, probably darker. Not sure why anyone would spend $250 more than P1 Max for a product that basically trades blows. Akros said he kinda likes S15 more but only after extensive source rolling. They need to drastically reduce the price here.
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 10 месяцев назад
Yep, the darker part kinda bothers me, I am paying $330, I want to hear all of it. I agree with Tony on that, you need to play with sources and tracks. I don't want to pay $300+ and have to do that.
@NotAyFox
@NotAyFox 10 месяцев назад
The price of S15 is definitely the most important reason why I decided not to order a pair. Another would be that the stock tuning is not to my preference, at least according to available reviews. I've grown pretty comfortable with my EQ-ed Timeless AE and now I'm waiting for production Timeless II to get released. In the meantime I ordered Chopin to (hopefully) upgrade my hybrid stock which is currently topped with Blessing 2 Dusk (That's about as much as I can afford for a set these days).
@PaulWasabii
@PaulWasabii 10 месяцев назад
Most planars handle EQ well and you are better off EQ'ing a Timeless or S12 or Pro than buying them all chasing a perfect tuning which doesn't exist. I'd say the same for the KZ PR series, try it, but you are better off with EQ.
@NotAyFox
@NotAyFox 10 месяцев назад
@@PaulWasabii I agree. I have both KZ PR2 x HBB and new PR3. I dare say stock PR2 is very similar to Timeless, just worse electrical efficiency. PR3 seems even better, but treble is over-extended to the stratosphere. Not sibilant or distorted, just way too much. Definitely needs to be EQ-ed before prolonged use, in my opinion. BTW, Happy New Year! :D

I planned Jan24 to buy S12Pro or MP145 as my first planar set, but now come out the S15; the think I hate on S15 is the plastic shell and the L termination, the think I dislike the MP145 is it's bulky and heavy, the think I like MP145 is it's sound graph. hmmm ... now difficult to decide.

Try tinhifi P1 Max. Definitely my favorite of the 7 planars I've tried. I also like S12 Pro, probably my 2nd favorite. But there's something addictive to me about the neutrality and midrange of P1 Max and the ability to increase the volume without fatigue until my brain second guesses the damage I may be doing to my skull. I love it.

@@jasongibson3574 ,big thanks for your suggestion, however I was told P1Max is the planar that sounds like DD, so I contempted why to get it, despite that I saw its FR and its FR is actually suits me. still considerating thou.
@jasongibson3574
@jasongibson3574 10 месяцев назад
@@woka_kawanua-hw2hj it does sound kinda DD like. It gives a heavier/thicker note weight, like a DD. However you still get the speed, clarity, and wonderful upper frequency resolution from the planar. I did very extensive testing in terms of resolution and detail among my planars and they are all basically the same. Some slight variances due to frequency responce making thr only difference from song to song. Seriously you can't go wrong with P1 Max or S12 Pro. I rotate listening to them all the time so I really enjoy both. I find S12 Pro to really mesh with an AKM based dac. Love the combo as it adds some organic smoothness to the sound. Either would be a good choice. Like you I worry about the size of MP145 which is why I haven't tried that one.

@@DJHaworth i love the sound of the mp15 i just got, but even though at first I thought the size and weight werent a big deal and initially didnt bother me, after a few hours it does add up and cant stand them anymore how uncomfortable they feel. Sound: excellent, terrible size. I am returning them now and getting the S15. How do they compare? listening to classical the mp145 are incredible, the bass as you said is powerful and real, the high mids and mids are 3 dimensional also. I hope the S15 is at least close in sound quality
@KmtS9
@KmtS9 10 месяцев назад
If these somehow ever drop down to the sub-$150 price level, then I can see myself getting them. But seeing as they start out at $330, I think the lowest they'll ever go would be $200-$220. Which is probably a great deal, but not sure I'd be able to convince myself to shell out for. I already have the S12 Pro and Kiwi Ears Melody, AND - against my self-imposed buying break - copped the Tinhifi P1 Max just today. Couldn't say no to the Pandas for $75 - always been intrigued by the chiller tuning of their treble especially considering their planar nature. The Hidizs MP145 and the S15 I think go for this chiller treble, but the MP145 would've been $130 and the S15 would've been $300. So i'll enjoy my budget sets for now and wait for the IEM bloodbath in 2024! 😂

In retrospect, S12 was boring to look at but it mostly fit everyone. Somewhere in the development, they slightly changed the inside to lock in the faceplate so it wouldn't pop off. I think part of the pressure relief development was caused by people who had pressure issues on the S12 shell, too many returns due to driver flexing. Enjoy Variations though, no issues with having a quality tribrid on your desk.
