Cameroon has messed up these games. They should never be allowed to host them against. Such a huge event without even coverage. This is crazy.

Sprinters can risk injury without proper warmups. Can't blame these athletes Paris Olympics is next month.

It’s really complex. I ran in the lower ranks, AAU/USATF/High School/College/USATF as an adult, and each level is so different. As a junior, we can do so many things a certain way, and even when I “felt something”, I still ran and won. On the College/World Class level, it’s so different…we start to do things that maximize output for our entire body, which requires everything to be perfect because we are putting it all on the line and letting our bodies kinda run in auto-pilot. The head, the neck, the back, the arms, the knees the feet, the toes, the fingers, the breathing location and amount of breaths at a certain time, the necessary relaxation, the mindset of on what we focus, the counting of our steps, the all of this is a big deal when running world class! We see clearly in the 200M more than anything how the best 200M runner can lose a race and be WAY behind, then come back days later and leave the entire field by that distance. Also, we see 22.3, 22.4, and suddenly, next day they run 21.7 in the 200M for this very reason. Every single little tiny thing matters, and the different between a gold medal and last place is something very small in the execution, not necessarily an issue of talent. When we feel something, we’ve gotta be smart and shut it down because it could be many years or potentially a lifetime of decline from injury.

@@bradc7002what are you talking about? only 2 players from the euro 2024 squad were born in africa and then chose to represent france. that’s camavinga and the third goalkeeper samba. it’s not like the whole squad is made from talent stolen from africa.

One thing is consistent with sport administrators in Africa. When they bid to host international events it's about the funds that come in for organising the event. The chief organizer, the director of the event, the event main supervisor and coordinators etc each gets more money than the best athlete in the event. IT IS NEVER about athletes. 😪..and I talk from experience of over 25 years in international sport.

This is a disgrace. So we can't even take our own athletic champions seriously? Here on our own continent? Shaun Maswanganyi withdrew because of bad organization and now here's Tebogo Letsile also crying about the same thing. What will it take for us to take our people seriously? 😢
