To BBC Look North (Yorkshire),
We were contacted today by one of your journalists who requested to interview Lee Taylor, Reform UK parliamentary candidate for Richmond & Northallerton, to discuss Reform UK’s policies with regards to anti-social behaviour.
While Lee has had the pleasure to be interviewed by a variety of media outlets over the course of his campaign, and has indeed talked extensively to residents about Reform UK’s policies on anti-social behaviour, we are now restricting formal interviews to quality journalistic organisations. The BBC does not fall into this category.
The BBC has proven to have abused its position of power, time and time again. From consistent bias in journalistic reporting to deliberate placement of left-wing activists in TV debate audiences, the BBC has failed its duty of care to the public to behave in an unbiased fashion.
There are many opportunities for Reform UK to receive coverage of its candidate and its policies, but going forward, we have no interest in engaging with the BBC.
Indeed, Reform UK will be reinvigorating its calls to ‘Axe the Tax’ to scrap the BBC licence fee, saving the UK taxpayer nearly £4 billion per year.
Interested parties can download Reform UK’s Contract with the People policy document from the Reform UK website (www.reformparty.uk).
