@shadowblade5260 Vietnam...the war... our war... it's a connection, not a literal "This is the chorus" title. I've never heard this before. But after the spoken female interlude, when you realize that (spoiler) he was KIA, I realized just how genius this song is lyrically. I keep listening to more songs, by B.o.B./And the more I listen to 'em, the more talent I see! -IMP ;) :)
Whenever you hear something about the soldiers, its about how its effecting the country as a whole. You never hear about the family's who have lost a loved one. We have people protecting us everyday and giving us freedom. Some still unrecognizeable to man and technology.
You can't find songs like tis on the radio anymore... I don't even listen to it honestly. All the other rappers rap about is money, drugs, and bitches. B.o.B. is in my opinion, the 'realest' rapper out there these days. He's the only one you'll find that hasn't let the fame go to his head. he still realizes that there are bigger problems in the world than just his own. I just wish more people would open their eyes. Stay strong Bobby Ray. We need you to keep some good music around..
This is why I love B.o.B. He can make music in any genre that is good, and sometimes, he hits you with songs like this that have significant meaning to anyone who can comprehend.
@iheartronaldo2122 She gave away her love, that she promised she would keep. The guy left for Vietnam war and his girlfriend told him she'll wait for him. But as he returned from the war he found out that she left him. That's why he says: "And of all the thing I've seen, this has to be the greatest tragedy".
@shadowblade5260 I'm not gonna be negative towards you like the rest of these fools... The girl talking @ 2:05 is basically reading a letter that she had written to her love while he was away fighting in the Vietnam war.
@elliem2424 ya it doesn't really... I saw him at Lolla... and this song came on and it was really familiar. but it was still AMAZING! i've been listening to it nonstop:)
what the fuck is wrong with the kid who hit the dislike button, Does he feel like he gets some sick satisfaction by being the one kid who hates on people
one thing i dont get..............the song is called letters from vietnam but it didnt mention anything wit vietname in it..........but the song is still good
b.o.b is the only man who could do what he has done in the modern day music world. He has sent messages through his songs that describe the problems many of us feel or have gone through and a man who does it so well is a great man you the best bra bra
@BPANDJSHOW Its good and everything that it 'touched your heart' but this song says absolutely nothing about what the troops and soldiers do for us so how can it somehow make you realise it LOL
He's one of the very few who rappers still realize that. I completely agree with you. Most rappers make one song where they try to sound like the fame has't gone to their head... When it clearly has. Every one of B.o.B.'s songs, if you pay attention to the lyrics, you can see the fame, power, and money haven't gone to his head.
wow great song means alot to man who is serving and father was vietnam veteran. God bless those who have gave the greatest sacrifice for this country!!!!!
i think its a mixture of both. b.o.b doesnt let the fame go to his head but he does live a life thanks to fame but he also recognises that there is more to life than fame, and that is what makes him the realest rapper who doesnt just talk about being real, he practises what he preaches
this song tells a better story than a movie can tell...BoB is one of the most talented artists ive heard and seen in a long time, hes already a living legend
being a vietnamese kid and my fav rapper is Lupe, i'm glad he added a good artist onto the Atlantic rapper. this song is really true to alot of the people who serve. great song
my boyfriend is leaving the 29 of this month he will be gone for 6 years some of it overseas as soon as i heard this song i started to cry i am so thankfull for the people who fight for this country for us but it makes it so hard for their loved ones and familys i thank bob for making song like these to help us get threw it and thanks to all the troops that stand up for us we are truly grateful of you. babe i will wait till you get back home love you and i will miss you ill be here when u get ba
