This is such a strange concept to me as a middle eastern woman . In our weddings everyone has to be overdressed and wear alot of gold and diamonds . And full makeup. The bride actually encourages her friends to look good and there is no such thing as "outshining the bride" if you don't want someone to outshine you then just wrap up the guests in trash bags lol
