Letting the Past Go 

In the middle of the account of Joseph’s confirmation as prime minister and the establishing of the office he is to hold, there is a parenthesis about his domestic circumstances. It tells us that he was given Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, as his wife, and that two sons were born to him: Manasseh, which means “forgetting,” and Ephraim, which means “doubly fruitful.” We now find a characteristic of Joseph in these names that can revolutionize our lives today.
