Some things he didn’t have time to cover that make the CDS even more awesome. You can utilize the CDS at any magnification It has a zero stop so you can’t blow past it. Your gonna need a Leupold rage finder as well, combined, it makes for the most accurate shots you’ll ever make while hunting The only down side is that your taxidermy bills will sky rocket.. haha

What’s your experience with cds so far. For real world test? I have a dial coming now just want to hear some evidence of it working great!!

@@0-doller-bill923 I need to tell you my back ground a little so you can understand what I’m about to say. I am a certified Aerospace Quality assurance person. I inspect things for a living. So, my real world experiences as been exceedingly great. I have tested and retested the zero stop because I have read some posting about it not being accurate. I can tell you that I have had no issues at all. I sighted in my rifle @ 100 yards, then bought the CDS. If your accurate on what you put down on the form when you order it, it’s right on. I will also tell you that I am a hunter, out west, and I feel like I can get within 400 yards of anything. I do practice out to 600 yards, with no issues with the CDS, just me, and my crappy wind judging skills. Out to 500 yards anything will get hit. At 300 yards was the only range were it shot a little high, but only .39” inches, on 6 sets of 3 round groups. So, I say that’s more of a human and or firearm repeatability issue. In a nutshell, shooting well requires you to be confident in your set up…. And the CDS definitely has gained my confidence level to new heights

@@michaelbosisto6259 Wow thanks for replying. And for the detail in which you did. I ordered my cds off chrono velocity for my gun. I hope I did everything else good too but I have high hopes for it now. And if you don’t mind me asking do you have like just a strap and rifle setup or is it like bipod for shooting prone?

@@0-doller-bill923 I have a Christiansen Traverse in .270 Winchester… I’m a Mule deer hunting fool. Due to an injury I received in Iraq, a sling is no option for me. I bench rest zeroed my rifle. I have a BOG pod death grip for other shooting that I do. My injuries prevent me from long walk up and down hill , so I have a ground blind… that where the death grip really shines. I’m my past experiences with bi pods I rarely used them because of brush being in the way, and my back pack was more useful in prone to sitting than anything else. I’m not a rapid, oh shit there’s a buck busting out of the brush guy..shoot off hand type. I know my limitations. As a former bow hunter (25 years), brush busting shots didn’t ever happen, so that’s no change to me. In my mind the closer I am, the better I shoot, so my hope is to get close is I can for that high percentage shot in the vitals. I do sometimes sit under a tree and use my bi pod, it hold my rifle at the ready while I glass and snack. It’s so nice not to hold it all the time, especially with a half of an arm.. lol. I use an eberlystock gun runner 2 pack that has a handy rifle scabbard that built in, I can easily pull it out 1 handed, stowing it back is more challenging for me, but it can be done. That pack makes my rifle reel almost like nothing. For me it’s about making calm and relaxed shots, don’t wanna be in pain, out of breath as I try to focus on the shot. I also don’t want the hassle of over complicated doping systems out there… where I have to tape a shoot card on the side of my expense rifle. The CDS … click it and send it.. that easy. Whatever you do, SHOOT your rifle at distances you plan to hunt. Sit at home and dry fire with a snap cap until you can’t stand it anymore. Have someone yell out yardages so you get quick at settings your dial, make it a muscle memory. Always make sure you use a rangefinder in tandem with your CDS. I have the TBR 1500 I.. I also invested in a Spuhr mount… the hunting version. I know superior machining and the Spuhr mounts to my picitinny rail. It also has a 10 degree key that makes leveling awesome and easy. I am within .0005 degrees off from a absolute level.

@@michaelbosisto6259 you sound like a badass my friend. I will take all your advice for you definitely sound like and pro. I have a Raccoon-pouch-that holds my extra bullets in case & Leupold RX-950 rangefinder my gun smith recommended that with the CDS- which is a Leupold vx4i (4x12x50mm) with fire-Dot. on a Ruger Hawkeye hunter 6.5 prc.. wish they Where still chambering 264 WM but you get what you can I guess. It sounds like you live where I would love to live honestly. No mule deers in Va. have up to 900 yard shots on ol whitetail. But yeah I’ll have to get some snap caps for sure. Thanks for all the info you gave me. You’ll have to update me on your hunts. We have our own section in here now lol.

I am one of those people who has not yet been able to justify why I need CDS. It sounds good except every time I change my load I need to spend another $80 to get one.

where I live in the south , I'm normally shooting 300 and closer . Most likely between 50 to 200yds. No need for turret .

Can the custom dials be made for high quality airguns?
@malcolmdennis503
@malcolmdennis503 Год назад
Listen guys, it’s more to it than what this guy is saying don’t listen to this BS ‘ in order to bring out the best performance in that CDS scope system run your particular load over a chronograph ‘ get your scope height, where you’re hunting meaning the area and elevation the temperature that you’re more than likely to hunt in’ because it is going to make a major’ i repeat a major difference in how accurate and precise your custom dial system will be ‘ look guys do not ever go by the box because those are tested with a different area whole different length of barrel and probably and nine times out of 10 the velocity is going to be off enough to throw your point of impact off which adds up to a possibly a missed shot on your target or game which ever or ‘ follow those steps I just gave you and that system is amazing good luck

so if I understand correctly, you have to have as many cds turrets as caliber?
@Sportsmans_Warehouse
@Sportsmans_Warehouse 2 года назад
You will want one for each cartridge that you shoot. It uses the specific ballistic information of that cartridge. You can, however, always take off the CDS turret and replace the factory turret and compute your ballistics input as you would a regular scope. - DK

What about at those in between ranges?
@Sportsmans_Warehouse
@Sportsmans_Warehouse Год назад
You won’t notice significant point of impact shift between a dead on hundred yard divisible range and an incremental range. Get to the nearest distance and round up or down and you will still be MOA. But there are some clicks between the full hundreds if you are trying to be super precise. Most people can’t shoot well enough to notice the difference consistently. I sure can’t. - DK

This does nothing but encourage people to shoot at game from distances they have no business trying .Fine for targets but has no place in the hunting world.
