Welcome to my channel I unbox guns in short video format. I focus on what manufacturers include in their packaging but also discuss minor details or features of the platform. I hope you'll subscribe. Let me know if there are any particular unboxings you'd like me to do.

I put this same scope and mount on my BCM Recce, it works great. Great little scope for the money. I bought mine on optics planet for around $210.00 mount included, then added butler creek lens covers and a Switchview throw lever bringing the total price to about the $250.00 mark.

Its a great deer hunting scope. Especially for the $200 i got mine for 10 years ago. Super light, fast, and easy to pick up. I prefer this over my mark 3HD fire dot.

Price wise a side, how much glass quality differs compared both Mark 3hd & this one ?
@user-jv4ic8rh4d

@@chiya2006 honestly I think it would be equal other than the mark3 has a bigger objective letting in more light, 30mm tube. To me that's why it's slightly better optical clarity. Also, the reticle on the mk3 is not as good for hunting. The 0.5 mil hash is impossible to see. The 1.0 mil hash is barely visible. The fire dot is great and daylight bright, but then just get a red dot and magnifier. If fast target acquisition for hunting is your goal, pig plex reticle is better. I let my cowork hunt with my 350 legend with the vx freedom pig plex this year. He shot a small buck walking out from stand at 75yards. His view was it's the best scope he's used for hunting deer. He normally goes with the general 3-9 style.

These scopes suck in the shadows in the woods sometimes you can't even see the pig plex I'll take my fire dot anyday

Nice scope! But I think this is the older version. In 2017 they came out with the upgraded version of this...which is the one I have ...it’s the The “Luepold VX-6 HD”..Which has new CDS locking dials, aluminum cover caps, and built in throw lever. Great review!

Very nice. I just put a red dot on my AR but if i ever use it for hunting I'll have to check out Leopold

Yeah, Leupold makes some of the greatest optics out there. The plus in my opinion is that they are American made. That’s the one thing, lately, that’s been hard to find in optics.

More people who care about accuracy vs just blowing rounds off are starting to adopt and make the switch to variable powered scopes instead of red dots. After all that is what the Trijicon ACOG is (a scope not a red dot). I have the same Leupold scope as you with the MOA reticle. I prefer it and think it is superior to the "pig plex" on a fighting AR rather than a "hunting" AR. Either way is going to be light years better than a Aimpoint T2, EOTech or whatever the hell you are going to throw on there to use. I think many of these guys had/have no prior experience other than what they see on tv and hear at the range. I want to put 3 bullets through the same hole at 100+ yards. I couldn't care less about ringing a 12" steel plate at 25 yards....."across the street dude".
@JohnDoeEagle1
@JohnDoeEagle1 3 года назад
"Oh my red dot is very precise....I can hit a 6"-8" plate repeatedly at 100 yards. That's not "precise" dude.....put it in his eye or heart! That's "precise".......
@GunBoxTherapy
@GunBoxTherapy 3 года назад
Red dots do have their place but it is all dependent on the intended use/setup of the rifle/pistol itself. For home defense use I’d never utilize a variable optic and would most certainly use a red dot (Trijicon, Aimpoint..whatever). In a situation such as that you need quick target acquisition and visibility. LPVOs and red dots have separate roles and cannot replace what the other does best.
@JohnDoeEagle1
@JohnDoeEagle1 3 года назад
@@GunBoxTherapy For a close quarter CQB weapon I would, and I do still use iron sights for that. Red dots are meaningless and very unneeded to and for me. I started shooting ARs in the 80s when A1s and A2s are all we had. I can rock a fixed carry handle with FSB very effectively even out past 300 meters. To me looking at a electronic red dot is no easier or harder than looking at the tip of a steel front sight post. Save your money and have something that won't break or batteries go dead in. MAGNIFICATION on the other hand is something entirely different. You'll never see a Sniper using a red dot for that very reason.

What size mm of Len covers did you ended up to get to fit your scope? 59030 (objective) and 59055 (eyepiece) there are a lot of different sizes under those part number 59030 and 59055.
