What is a home?
For young children, a home is not just a space where they live and keep their things. Home is where they are cherished, nourished, protected, and surrounded with warmth and positivity by the people that love them most.
But what happens when life at home is no life for a child? When the environment is full of strife, or one parent is incapable of being there and providing for their child’s needs? The problems that arise as a result can last a lifetime, with devastating consequences.
Lev Leyeled was founded with the mission of being there for such children and ensuring that they can enjoy a healthy childhood despite the turmoil surrounding them. Every child’s needs are unique, and Lev Leyeled steps in with one goal: to put the child's needs first and be there for them every single day.
Let’s take a closer look at some of Lev Leyeled’s many services:
•Lev Leyeled houses in Williamsburg, Monsey and Kiryas Yoel are safe spaces where children can spend after-school quality time under the watchful eyes of trained mentors. They can enjoy a nourishing meal, do their homework, and play with peers in a supportive environment.
•Therapy and mentorship programs are an essential part of what Lev Le’yeled provides their children, so that they receive the emotional support they need.
•Each Shabbos, Lev Leyeled team members walk the children to shul, take them to Avos U’banim, ensure they have where to eat the Shabbos meals and that they don’t feel alone.
•The staff assists with placements in yeshiva and camps, checks in regularly with the children’s rebbes and teachers to see how they’re doing, and otherwise does all they can to step in for the missing parent.
•Trips, Shabbatons, events, and gatherings are all part of the Lev Leyeled experience so that children are inspired and uplifted, gaining strength to tackle life’s challenges.
Understandably, these programs do not come cheaply. The existing annual budget of $3.5M continues to grow as enrollment increases and crucial services are added. As an organization that is there for every child in need, the responsibility to make ends meet cannot be the organization’s alone.

א שטראל פון האפענונג יא! דאס וואס מיר האבן געשריבן ביז אהער איז די וועלט פאר עס איז געווען 'לב לילד'. ב"ה אז היינט צוטאגס איז גאר א צווייטע מציאות, זייט עס איז דא 'לב לילד' וואס טוט אלע מעגליכקייטן אין די וועלט אהערצושטעלן פאר די קינדערליך וואס עס פעלט זיי מיט דעם וואס זיי האבן נישט קיין געהעריגע טאטע און מאמע.
לב לילד איז מיין היים'. דאס איז די געפיל פון אריבער 350 לעכטיגע קינדערליך וואס זייער שטוב איז נישט קיין היים פאר זיי. אנגעהויבן פון 'לב לילד הויז', וואס איז פלאצירט אין וויליאמסבורג, מאנסי און קרית יואל. וואו די קינדער קומען אין די פרייע צייט, אונטער די אויפזיכט פון די געטרייע סטעף. עס איז צוגעשטעלט פאר זיי נארהאפטיגע מאלצייטן וואס זיי באקומען נישט אין שטוב. שבת האבן זיי א יונגערמאן וואס נעמט זיי אין בית המדרש. יעדע מוצאי שבת לערנט מען אינאיינעם אבות ובנים, כדי זיי זאלן נישט זיין אויסגעשפילט פון צווישן זייערע חברים. עס איז דא כסדר'דיגע מסיבות התחזקות, מלוה מלכה וכדו', אזוי אויך רייכע שבת התוועדות'ן. אין די טעג פון ימים טובים וואס מען פארברענגט אינאיינעם מיט די משפחה, קומען פאר רייכע מסיבות וכדו'. אזוי אויך באקומט יעדעס קינד א מענטאר, וואס באגלייט דאס קינד ווי אן אייגענע טאטע. מען זארגט אריינצולייגן אין ישיבות, קעמפס וכדו'. ועל כולם ווערט אלעס צוגעשטעלט מיט טראנספארטאציע פון טיר צו טיר כדי נישט צו לאזן די קינדער אליינס. דאס איז נאר א טעימה קלה פון א טייל פון די אלע פעולות וואס ווערן געטון דורך 'לב לילד'.
