As a free trail guy I feel that lol just got my third level 60 tbh its only the first 20 levels that bore me... guess I'll have to buy the game soon tho I'm almost at the end of heavensword so
It helps to have a friend, but it's still pretty easy solo. I did my dragoon from 1-50 in one day solo and that was with a 2 hour break in between and I wasn't rushing by any means. If you take it more seriously than I did, you can probably do it in half that time. It's not really that hard. Just keep spamming FATES and do your hunting logs while you wait for dungeon pops. Before you unlock dungeons, the levels pretty much fly by. Hunting log and class quests already carry you most of the way. If you have the exp granting earrings from pre-ordering Endwalker, you'll shoot through the first 50 levels super fast in just a few hours. Even without them, it's still pretty damn fast.
The key in any level range is to AVOID burnout. If POTD/HoH, dungeons, Bozja, etc, are boring you to death? Take a break or mix it up. The most important thing is that you're always moving and doing something, even if it isn't the #1 most optimal thing. Burnt out on POTD? Do some Squadron Dungeons, since they're still pretty quick and give decently good XP. Bozja numbing your brain? Dungeons, beast tribes and fates to break it up. As long as you're not forcing it, you'll be fine.
Perfect comment. That should be the footnote of this video. Personally, I have seen too many powerlevelling guides. I appreciate them, but I would like to see guides like "What is the most pleasurable and satisfying experience to level levels X to Y: Lists of things to do that spice it up, yet give progress rewards."
yeah honestly idk if this counts but im still going through msq and i played paladin up to when i got to lvl 70 on it and i was just burnt out and i decided to try more other classes and see what there is and oh god playing a different class is fun im currently on reaper and wanting to try drk out at somepoint
A very good leveling guide, and well presented, too. I actually do rely on Trusts for 71-80, but I'll have to give Bozja another look after watching this. Thanks!
Trusts are terrible for the time investment. After the GC squadron missions which made leveling WAY too easy, they nerfed the shit out of the system when they gave us trusts. The NPC's are mindless, wall to wall pulls aren't possible, and they are SUPER slow. Use Bozja to level or just spam the DF, as even a full sprout party is faster at clearing dungeons than a trust party.
Thank you so much! This is probably the push I needed to get my butt to Bozja and grind some mettle. Really nicely structured and editing was simple but effective. If I had some criticism, it would be how you read your script. You sounded annoyed and bored out of your mind. Still an amazing video and much appreciated. Subbed!
Aaah, thanks for the feedback. I definitely need to stop recording late at night - I do sound monotone as hell here. I'll change it up for the next one. You have a couple of days before 5.55 drops and Bozja's about to get real active again. Enjoy - maybe you'll get lucky and get a mount or two as well.
So glad that I found this now that my last job is on 74. Fortunately, I ended up doing most of these anyway. POTD / HoH may be the quickest methods, but running dungeons and knocking out quests in-between ended up being less boring by FAR.
@@AlZahard I suppose everyone has different things that engage their interest. I ended up liking the dungeon aesthetic more, and it's easier (in my opinion) to practice class rotations since mobs last longer. I did tend to do more POTD/roulette spam on classes (healers) I was less confident on in a dungeon.
61-71 is the reason I'm so slow at levelling alt jobs, everything just grinds to a complete halt. HoH is the biggest snooze fest the game has to offer right up there with PoTD and it takes a lifetime to find people for certain Stormblood dungeons an that includes queuing as tank or healer.
You got that right. I really enjoy Gunbreaker but that 60-70 grind is extremely painful. I dont know why they decided to make exp rates minuscule in stormblood
@@wanderingmiqote9606 There used to be something called "chain exp" it's have been removed from dungeons, I believe in start of ShB. Made leveling better in dungeons. The thing it did, it gave more exp from trash mobs, if you killed them fast
This is my exact issue too. I keep taking months away from the game because the alt grind just burns me out. Leveling an alt is NOT fun, in my opinion. It’s way too grindy.
I recommend waiting for 6.1 to fully level all jobs. With trusts now you don't need to worry about Squadrons in ARR. You can just do trusts and leves until 61 tbh. Slow? Might be but you can do it all solo
I'm just happy whenever people remembers to mention squadron. I preferred it over POTD, any time of day instaqueues, group is adjusted to your specifics down to glamour, low level gearing essentially for free and said gear can net some gc seals afterwards.
Squadrons as a tank can be potentially great exp as well. I haven't tried at lower levels, but for 51-60, it's pretty easy to get 1.2-1.5mil exp in 10-13min as a tank. You'll also get a buttload of GC seals from gear turn ins for Ventures or whatever else. Set the 2 DPS as SMN and do bigger pulls (cooldowns are very important and this is good practice using them). Understand though that the healer is stupid as hell sometimes and WON'T heal you for a good bit. You won't have to worry about angering melee players though by you moving around to buy precious seconds to be healed lol. It's honestly not THAT terrible to level through Squadrons for the lull that is 61-70 or 71. Doing other things like Hunts and Beastmen dailies (obviously Roulettes especially) will help the tedium at least. DPS, and most definitely Healer, won't be as fast but it's still not too terrible.
This was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. I am still on the free trial and almost 50 and want to try a few other jobs out before I buy the game and decide which one to stick with. This helps a ton. I outleveled my main story quest by a lot so because I stopped geting kill xp and not much xp from the quests commpared to my level, I stopped doing it and saving it for an alt when it gets to that level. That will speed things up for several levels too. When would be a good time and which type of leves should one do to help the leveling. I find that they can be done really quick.
The 1-20 boosting method is much slower if you're not ranged. Melee can't hit the mobs without getting one shot, but my wife and I were killing just the elemental mobs around Helix and that worked, although was a bit slower. They don't hit you immediately but instead cast, so she had time to one shot them before they hit me.
Yeah, melee's a bit slower. It took me a while to get it right, but what worked for me was attacking from the flank/rear and immediately running out of melee range. After a few deaths, I got it right. This can be ping reliant, too. I've been made aware of a faster 1-20 leveling method, will make a new video... soon ^^
The MSQ roulette is pretty great on PC if you get Prae, you can just tab out and watch videos or read, while hovering over the XIV window in your task bar to see if the cutscene is over yet.
Hey man, welcome to the game. The video's not really intended for new players - this is for those that have reached level 80 and are looking to leveling their alternate jobs. Just play the MSQ and have fun - it took me 3 months to get my first job to level 80, so don't stress :)
It's worth noting that the armory bonus does NOT require a level 80 job. I don't know where this myth comes from, but it literally just applies to any job that is not your highest level. It does not matter at all what level that highest level job is.
When it comes to trust I bet it would be a lot faster if Square thought to program the NPC's to use AOE's when they're in combat with 3 or more enemies.
I've been finding some solace in being able to sync components of the Relic grind with either spamming PotD or Fate farming. There's not perfect overlap, but you can get some serious progress on a job while grinding out various Memories.
I'm just getting my 3rd healer to max. Got sch and ast to 80 awhile back. I went from 35-52 on my 3rd healer with just squadrons. Gonna have to try that on my dps ones. As for 61-70, I originally got to 70 by just spamming the underwater dungeon for the glamor in it. That was before HoH was a thing. It's a short and easy dungeon, but you can't do it right away. I farmed the first dungeon unlocked in sb until I could access it. I did the same strategy after HoH came out and I was leveling ast. HoH que times were super slow outside of weekends, but the underwater dungeon was almost always popping. No idea why, but my guess is it was because people were focusing their time in the +70 level areas. I've never been to that 71-80 zone. I just did the npc dungeons to level them up while I also level my alts.
A note about the EXP buffs: They only apply to monster exp. This is true of all exp buffs including gear and food. There is no way to buff exp gained from things like daily roulette bonuses, FATES, or beast tribe quests. The monsters you kill during the dungeon/FATE/quest will give boosted exp, but the completion reward will not. Since probably at least half of your exp is going to be coming from rewards rather than kills (if not more depending on how hard you're grinding; casual grinds rely more on bonuses than harder grinds), this significantly cuts the value of these buffs. How much does this matter? Personally, I think gear buffs are always worth it because they're massive, and the gear itself is always worth equipping while active anyway just because the stats are always good. The FC/Squadron Manual buffs are decent and worth having, but if you're relying on manuals and run out I wouldn't go out of my way to get them. I personally don't bother with food. You can expect MAYBE a 1% buff to total exp gain, which means that for every 100 hours of grinding you'll save one hour of time. That's just not worth the effort of keeping stocked on food and remembering to keep the buff active all the time. But that's me and my ADHD brain, maybe it's not a problem for you. If you wanna go full rubberross and have a stack of eggs on you at all times, I'm sure not gonna stop you.
The xp of a roulette doesn't scale perfectly between levels by the way . Weird example but if you do MSQ roulette, levels 51-54 are best for that, then levels 71-80, then 55-59, then level 50, then levels 61-69, then 60, then 70. Levels 50 60 70 are weird hell levels of a like that give reduced xp specifically on roulettes and monster kills and levels 51-54 are near the level 50 mobs that also give the mob xp bonus for MSQ so that's why it works that way
Potd is more efficient then msq ... level 80+ in msq yields less then 500k exp pee segment ... just an update since this vid is old and just a tad outdated .. but not enough to make it useless .. still very useful
Bozjan Gave exp!? Where was this video when i was leveling all my classes the long way..the hardway....grinding Dungeons/fairy dailies/Dailies ahaha gooood........dang it.....well i guess ill know to level the new endwalker classes in bozjan haha XD Thanks man!
I checked and it seems that high level areas don't nerf the xp gain if you're low level. Meaning that you can go in Tempest and get xp in the 6 thousands and more, as a Ievel 14 I got 6211 xp from the first Amphisbaena kill (lv 79 mob) with Brand New Ring, Friendship Circlet, Menphina's Earring, Food Buff, Armory Bonus and The Heat of Battle 2 all on, for a total of +203% experience points (meaning without any buff the xp gain from the first kill is going to be 3060). From there the chain xp buff gives an even bigger buff, speeding up the process by a lot.
Any other alternative to bozjan southern front ? Just came back to level a few new jobs from 70 to 80 and prepare for endwalker ? I haven’t played since shadow bringers release …. Seems like the requirements to even unlock bozjan is kinda cancer ?
Second most efficient would be to spam level 71-79 dungeons with Menphina's earrings equipped. But unlocking Bozja isn't that hard. Do the Stormblood Alliance Raids and the first part of the Resistance Relic Weapon quest in Kugane after and that's all.
I failed the braincell test. My Menphina's Earring sat in my mail for weeks. forgot it came with the XP pre purchase. wore the feather for 10 levels past when it was viable :D
it's insane how different the data centers are. mine has instances fully populated literally 24/7 and it's always easy to find a party, even at low rank D:
The gear I'm wearing as glamours in the thumbnail are: Obsolete Android's Halfrobe of Healing, Skallic Bottoms of Healing, 2B Boots and I'm pretty sure those are Facet Dress Gloves of Healing.
Maybe zadnor wasn't out yet when this vid was published but imo zadnor is a million times better than bozja, not only is it pretty much the exact same thing, u get 1000s of times more mettle u can then use on buffs for that area, and dalriada spawns a hell of a lot more often
I have no idea why sqe made the Trust system such a dumpster fire when it comes to clearing trash mobs, there could be a group of 8 mobs and they will still single target, why? even DragonAge had a gambit system that allowed stuff like "if more than 3 enemies then use x skill", it's almost ridiculous that the Command Squadrons actually nuke enemies in AoE as fast if not faster than the duty finder groups, the only "risk" at times is if your AI healer decides to fall asleep and refuse to throw out a heal until the tank is at 10% hp for some reason, which makes the initial pulling bit scary if there's a big gap in between mobs.
"Lahabrea's sh***y laugh." Oh gosh the voice acting in ARR can be SO cringey, but it's a nostalgic cringe. 😂 "To believe in Eooohzeeyaah is to believe in NOTHING" never gets old! 😭😭
I actually couldn't make it past level 30 without changing the VO Japanese with subtitles... I know it gets better in the HW era but the JP voices grew on me fast
What XP do the earrings actually buff in Bozja? The only XP you can get it from fates CEs and CLL (havent done zadnor yet), so should i just use my bozjan earrings over Mephinas for Haste?
I love playing support classes that everyone else hates. FF14 has like 1below 15 sec Q times for me and in League of Legends im permanently protected from autofill and get my role.
If you don't have any friends go do the MSQ like the game intends you to do. Don't go out there seeking friendship with the intent of having them do something for you. That's not friendship, that's just plain using people.
Lvl 63 white mage just gone red mage.. the 51-61 POTD section is really far over my head because I have yet to see anything like this on my WHM whom is level 63, let alone my RDM.
50/60/70 roulette gives awful experience because lvl 50/60/70 dungeons dont give experience so you only get experience from the roulette itself. don't do it youre better off just running your current lvl dungeon
New to the game and still lvling 1st job to 80. I know I want to level other jobs later. Should I keep my gear that I leveled with, so I can transfer it to my alt jobs that can use them?
I'm a new player and here's my situation. I have just hit lvl 51 as a Monk and am beginning the Heavensword story. I don't regret my class choice, I am having fun, but I'd like to do some healing or tanking. My problem is that I have no idea how to gear these new roles. I'm a free trial player so FC and market board isn't an option for me. What would be your recommendation?
Oooh great question! Honestly, easiest would be to use Grand Company gear until you get to level 50 and can get your hands on Ironworks gear using poetics tomestones. Getting grand company seals is rather easy as long as you unlock expert deliveries so you can dump all your green dungeon gear that you don't need and exchange them for GC seals. The other option would mean leveling your crafters and making your own gear, which represents an entirely different list of challenges.
@@AlZahard thanks for the reply! I haven't done many promotions in my Grand Company but I believe I'm close to unlocking deliveries. I'll do it that way. Advice I got on a discord was to just run dungeons naked and gear that way but I'm hesitant to tank with no gear.
@@Ohan Tanking with no gear's not really an option, and most dungeons have a minimum item level you need to meet to enter anyway. If you need any other advice, feel free to drop by my discord channel (link on my channel banner)! :)
On my server at least, it’s not worth waiting around for HoH. It is completely dead and I’ve waited around way longer for to get in on HoH rather than just waiting in ques for regular dungeons. I wish that wasn’t the case but seriously nobody ever runs HoH. Honestly that entire area of stormblood has been dead for a while. If you have friends or groups to go, hell yes do it, but if your solo, you might be waiting around for a while, and chances are you get stuck with sprouts in there too.
I made my character look like a librarian so decided to go to arcanist. Stupidly I tried palace of the dead solo and holy shit it’s doable but the amount of instakill enemies is annoying
@@AlZahard ye but I’m not at that point XD starting at lvl 1 for arcanist means I just had the carbuncles and stuff. I only managed to make it past the first 10 floors
isnt random dungeon with bonus for heal better (if u are a heal) than a spezific one with higher lvl ? i thoght the exp is down/upscaled to the exp is the same ?
Have they fixed the 61-70 leveling experience yet? I got burnt out hard doing HoH, there is an entire section missing for leveling alt jobs in this range, like there should be an increase to the squadron or trust system, because I would sit in queue for over 60 minutes just to get a HoH run sometimes. I cancelled because of this and won't come back til this is addressed. If I am paying to play I want to play when I want to play, none of this waiting in Queue for excessive amounts of time, especially on my DPS jobs. They have so many side quests in the game, they don't have to create anything new there, just change the numbers a bit, yet the XP gains for them is so pathetic compared to the MSQ, questing is supposed to be an MMO's bread and butter leveling content, but it is completely neglected in this game pre-lvl70. I heard they changed the 70+ XP gains for many types of content including SB side quests but they hadn't done anything to the earlier range when last I checked.
Unfortunately, no. HoH is still the highest XP per hour, with dungeons a little bit behind, and both require either fast queues or a premade group. I imagine SE is aware of this issue, but whether or not they plan on addressing it is still a mystery. Your only other option is to just get some roulettes(leveling/alliance/frontline/etc) out of the way while you work on something else in the background, then log off for the day. If your queues are that bad even in off hours? Then I am curious what kinda of population your datacenter is working with, because NA and EU servers are getting -pounded- right now with fresh players, and even DPS queues are at an all time low. A server transfer might not be a terrible idea, if things really are that bad for ya.
ET, LT, and ST are all in the settings together and can be set to whatever your preference is as far as all 3, only 1 or 2 of them. I forget exactly which setting it's located but they're there
Its more like... Im level 30 and I might want to play something more fast paced than black mage, and I have no idea what the friendship ring hat earring stuff is. And if by armory boost you mean as long as you have a level 30 character your level 29- characters get a 100% increase in xp? I hope thats true.
Im 5 minutes in, glad he said he assumes you have a level 80 character cause everything said is like another language to me lol I cant keep up at alllll
@@zachster2016 Yeah, this guide wasn't made for new players - but your assumption about the Armory Bonus is correct. From the wiki: "From levels 1-69, you receive +100% additional experience for secondary classes that are lower level than your highest level class. At level 70, this bonus decreases to only 50%. The amount of experience granted has nothing to do with the distance in levels from your highest class." Honestly - just try out any of the jobs that interest you and stick with whichever you like best until you reach endgame. Then I'd focus on leveling alt jobs.
You said run squadrons 20-40/50 if you are leveling dps but then don’t say what to do at that range if you are tank or healer. Don’t know why you make the distinction and not clarify it
@@AlZahard thanks, whats the best way to level to 60 for free players? im getting self conscious using duty finder, i got dismissed a few times because they told me to skip cut scene, but i dont want to miss the story. i finished the game now but i feel self conscious using the duty finder due to people dismissing me for watching the cut scene when i leveled my first character, i also play on ps5 so i had to grab a keyboard and im out before i could say anything. i did palace of the dead but i always die i never made pass level floor 50 i think
Yes you can replace them, the +3 haste doesn't really make a big difference unless you need more DPS for something like Delubrum Reginae or cluster farms :)
“So strap yourself in and get ready to cry, because it’s time for heaven on high” idk if the rhyme scheme was intentional but I was dying laughing at this
