The Vaganova method is a very precise technique where dancers are taught to be highly aware of every part of the body. Developing body awareness from a young age enables the dancer to develop an appreciation and awareness of the intricate technical and artistic details of this artform. Under the proper guidance, this method develops strong and elegant artists with very clean technique.
Through a progressive training approach, the dancer builds readiness and a strong foundation to prevent the formation of bad habits; thereby, preparing the dancer for long-term healthy development.
This excerpt is from Level 1 (ages 9-10) Exam. Level 1 is the first level of our upper division, yet still considered a bridge to Vaganova Level 1. This pre-Vaganova coursework is preparation for Vaganova Level 1, which is Level 3 in our school.
