Honstly, i'm surprised lowest levels aren't crushed flat by the wieght of everything above them. I mean, how much extra mass does this planet have by the time of ROTS? It's gravity has to be at least 2 G For reference, the tallest building on earth is Burj Khalifa, at 2,717 feet (228 m tall) at most 163 floors

2:48 tell disney to stop stealing from wh40k and blade runner. This whole description of "coruscant" is actually just a description of a hive city in 40k.. Like what kathleen kennedy didnt get enough destroying of an i.p with star wars she gotta bite 40k and cyberpunk to pad out her woke/dead franchise? Disney = arasaka 6:23 a mix of 40k mutant and 40k ogryn then? Case in point. Now all we need is a couple undergangs, maybe a purge or two. Oh and some ancient tech buried down there...40k call it "archeotech." im sure kathleen will call it "a temple to misandry" or whatever, but its still just stealing from a better I.P.

I have never known or been so fascinated by a planet in starwars lore. Well besides korriban. My interest lies in the force. Mostly by the dark side. Thankyou for sharing this with us. I never knew such a beautiful planet could have such a dark past.

So, I'll apologize in advance if this comes off as questioning, but does that mean that whole levels of Coruscant exist beneath the hidden Suthbahrine, underneath the Jedi Temple? Are the levels si deep, from crust to spires, that the hidden Super Star Destroyer didn't rest on bedrock? The lowest levels weren't even revealed when the cityscape was rent open, to permit the Lusankya to free itself from the planet? I want to mention when Coruscant was vong-formed, because that definitely happened, yet I got the feeling that Legacy-era Coruscant was still the ecumenipolis disco ball in space, so we ca skip that, but it seems weird no amount of damage to the world, or the interest of the Emperor, plumbing the deprhs for dark secrets, set foot upon the world that existed prior to its being engulfed in industry.

Not to say that the Jedi shouldn't have been out helping (it's even pointed out in the EU novel Shadow Hunter by a young Jedi that she had no idea how bad the conditions were on the under levels of Coruscant even relatively close to the Temple), but their order is only 10,000 members. Even if they spent all of their resources on helping those on the lower levels of the planet, they would barely be able to make a dent in a planet with a population of several trillion beings, and they would have no resources to help beings on other planets. This was more a failure of the Republic government that had been going on for thousands of years that allowed conditions to get that bad on the lower levels.

@@WinterLady87 Fair enough. I had assumed they'd be way more Jedi but yeah that'd make it a much harder endeavor with such little numbers. In that case there'd be no practical way except taking part in galactic politics by either strong lobbies in senate or heck even being part of it or something... which would then go against the Jedi philosophy...

@ibraheemahmad7404 Yeah, I could see if the Jedi had brought it to the Senate and pushed for aid to their own capitol planet that the Senate could approve funding to help increase policing and crack down on crime. Though, knowing the Senate, they'd probably create a committee for a committee and the reforms would either go nowhere, or the funds would be sent to some corrupt beaurocrat who would pocket it. I don't know if anything in Jedi Code referenced being in/around politics. In the Old Republic, around the time of Darth Bane, Jedi had actually been Chancellors for hundreds of years. Makes you wonder if it would have made a difference if the Jedi had been in charge in the prequels era.
