Y’all all talking about how good Mark playing the bass but what brought me here listening on the radio is the falsetto background singing of the key boardist , keeping a clear high pitched note and tone isn’t that easy ya know, I think his ( keyboardist) singing is what makes the song unique👌

Amazing song - one of the best pop songs of all time. But can we talk about the bassist? Holy $%#@# !!! Someone had mentioned to me that the Level 42 singer was an incredible bassist, and now I see this - wow, wow, wow...while he's singing through the whole song too. Incredible.

@@BarbieChaite Mark King commented, “For years now I have taped up my thumb with 3M electrical tape to protect it from splitting, due to the pressure that I put across with my style of playing. Many of the fans come to the shows with tape on their thumbs too, so it's great to have 3M on board

Playing grooving lines and slap on bass while singing is very difficult, few people knows it. Mark King is such a great singer and a great bassist! And the band is fantastic
LOVED THIS SONG!!! Had to get the 45 record of it on Ebay for my Jukebox...... Will always be a kick'n ass song! Lot's of memories from back in the mid 80's
