Welcome to another edition of the Speedy Tour! Today, we are going to look at a game for the PlayStation 1 called Star Ocean: The Second Story. And, this time, we are specifically looking at ways to help you with your level grinding in the game. Ever feel like your characters just aren't powerful enough for a certain part of the game? Well don't worry anymore! This tip will help you to gain some fast levels very early on in the game. And maybe you'll even find some powerful equipment to help as well! ;)

Not bad but Claude story has an earlier and more effective if you’re interested: After Rena gets kidnapped but BEFORE you go to the mansion, you’ll still have your blaster for battle and in the sacred forest inside the FIRST town, there are enemy slugs you can encounter that come from the second continent! They always drop from above which is tense but they’re no match for your blaster and you can Claude to lv. 30+ within about an hour. They are on the psp version as well, and the trigger is Rena’s kidnapping; they don’t appear if you fight there before she’s captured. Happy hunting! Oh, and they look purple and green, and they can multiply if you let them shift around aimlessly, for added experience 👍🏻👍🏻

Speedy tour!!!! Great tips for fast leveling. I had really good luck doing something similar with tales of symphonia back in the day.

I did this before. Your tip is for disc 1 how about a faster level up for disc 2 once you reach level 130 for each character. Can you do another guide for this game?

So this happens to be the one game I'm playing on PSP at the moment and those tips were veryyyy helpful. I'm not big on grinding so know that you saved me from rage quitting ^_^ I'm glad I remembered you made this video. Killer stuff!!

I'd recommend giving it a shot. It's a very fun game, and the PSP version is the same game with a few added bonuses. Also this leveling trick works on both the PSP and PS1 versions. ;) Thanks for watching! :)

Ooooo...I rmeember grinding outside before the tournament to make sure I got past the actual battles you can win before the game has the blue-haired swordsman (Can't remember his name.) come out and almost one shot you.

Yes, the Lacour Tournament of Arms where Dias always wins. Yeah, this is a good place to do some grinding before that all happens. If you do actually get high enough to beat Dias, you still can't win the tournament. The fight just happens again until you finally lose. Pretty lame. :P

Nice tip there. Now if only I could find the game for a good price. Is the PSP version(s) the same game and updated? I'm torn between getting Dragon Warrior 1-2 for GBC or this with my 99gamers coins.

Thanks! :) The PSP game (Star Ocean: Second Evolution) is the same game, with a few added bonuses including a new character. That would be a tough call on DW1&2 or this... And I just recently signed up for 99gamers, although I haven't sold or bought anything on it as of yet. Very interesting concept though!
