But only Vytautas adopted Christianity and Catholicism to be exact again strange when 80% of lithuanian lands were ruthenian and orthodox. And again why during the "christianization" of lithuania it was catholic and not orthodox? It’s because samogitia was a independent state, and even after Lithuanians finally gained it remained a very autonomous part right till partitions of Poland
What you on about that area was inhabited by samogitians for like ages, it’s just that over treaties and wars with the Crusaders that area couldn’t be fully controlled, speaking of the other areas it’s simply that people there were polonised or later on rusiffied when tsarist regime literally banned the language and encouraged people to speak Russian instead.
