You're wrong about the champion pool. There are 65 champions that are always in ARAM so your pool is those champs + the weekly rotation + whatever you own. If you'd like to see the champions in the 65 pool they are on the Riot support page for ARAM FAQ. Personally I like having more champions because it means I can trade with more people and I get two rerolls almost every game as the amount of reroll points you get is higher the more champs you have. I get someone I want to play almost every game as a result.

I can think of 5 much better tips off the top of my head... 1. The more people on your team that focus on the same thing at the same time the easier it is to win, period. Two perfect examples of this is if all 5 people focus on HITTING TOWER AS MUCH AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE, the faster that tower will crumble. The more all 5 people focus on NOT FEEDING, the less deaths will occur. 2. Frontline is SUPER IMPORTANT. Without a frontline, GOOD LUCK. With ANY frontline, ADC's can DOMINATE. The stronger the frontline, the MORE DOMINANT ADC's WILL DOMINATE. 3. Double or Triple or even Quadruple non-damaging support champs on one team makes LOSING EASIER. For example, if you have a Lulu, Ivern and a Braum on the same team, congratulations, you've just wasted 5 peoples time. 4. Get rid of ANY type of quitter you have on your friends lists. This means that if you ever see them hit the forfeit button even just ONE time for ANY reason, get rid of them! Quitters are a plague. If they're on your team it makes winning more difficult. 5. Last but certainly not least, communication. I put this last because it's the most obvious. When you have ways to hear each other you can setup ult combos and call out things that need calling out. When you don't have this, again, it makes winning more difficult. A bonus tip is everything to do with building items and setting up runes. The same thing applies here, the more people that know exactly what runes to go with, exactly what items to synergize with those runes, exactly how to build for the enemy team, when to build and what for, it can literally make or break long winning streaks. Simply make sure ALL ITEMS BEING BUILT BY ALL PEOPLE ON YOUR TEAM ARE THE RIGHT ITEMS FOR THE SITUATION AT HAND! In a nutshell, build 30 items, not just 6. If they have their preferences, politely consider alternatives and gives reasons why. The thoughts will flow and more and more RIGHT CHOICES will be made. That's it, thank me later.
